The plot to the Amazing Spiderman 2 is that he wants to date Gwen, but he can't date Gwen because he made a promise to Ghost Dad that he wouldn't. But then he does date Gwen anyway, and she dies, so he's guilty. And he learns that with great power comes great responsibility or something. But then he's not guilty anymore because she made a speech before she died saying that he shouldn't be guilty when she dies. And that frees him up to be Spiderman again, so he can fight a guy in a mechanical rhino suit. But the guy in the mechanical rhino suit kills him, which is why the movie ends there. It's like the Sopranos. You don't get to see that scene because it's the end of Spiderman. And the lesson is that he should have kept his word to Ghost Dad. It's a morality tale.
