Metagame [SPOILERS] Scarlet & Violet OU Discussion [BAN LIST POST 626]

Fun fact: Palafin has access to Boomburst. You could slap together a goofy-ass Specs set (Boomburst/Ice Beam/Wave Crash because 160 Attack/Focus Blast or Flip Turn) and actually threaten to 2HKO just about every returning Pokemon in OU. Not saying that you ever should, but you could.

SPOILERS! Scarlet & Violet Leaks Thread - Data/Mechanics

Between Baxcaliber being more blatantly Godzilla, Beta Tyranitar looking way more Bemular-ish, and Mega Tyranitar highlighting the common elements between base T-Tar and the final form of Psaro from Dragon Quest IV (both green when that's an odd color for both Godzilla and Rock-types, both lose...

SPOILERS! Scarlet & Violet Leaks Thread - Data/Mechanics

Getting a triple bonus in VGC (without Revival Blessing, and even that assumes that it's counting number of times your Pokemon have fainted and not number of slots of your team that are occupied by KOed 'mons) still means having one 'mon standing (er, sitting) on a Doubles field. Assuming your...

SPOILERS! Scarlet & Violet Leaks Thread - Data/Mechanics

So, something about Supreme Overlord that I haven't seen mentioned: 10% per fainted teammate is way too weak to use in any of the official formats. You can't get more than a 20% boost out of that in Battle Spot Singles, and getting the full 30% from having three dead friends in VGC means diddly...

SPOILERS! Scarlet & Violet Leaks Thread - Data/Mechanics

Salutations, fellow Rock-CHADs! Forgive me for skipping over the past few dozen pages of discussion, but I simply have to know what bounties have been mined from this game for the ore-iginal hardtype? What wondrously strong and accurate moves have we been blessed with? Has Accelerock gotten the...

Gen 6 The "Are my Pokémon IVs and Nature good?" Thread

    I got a Timid Latias after about 20 resets on Southern Island, 30 / 31 / 28 / 27, 29 / 31 / 31. Oddly enough, almost every single one had that 31 in Attack. Do I keep this one?

    Other ORAS Metagame Discussion

He mentioned priority users in his second point, actually. And the ones you mentioned have trouble switching into Greninja's moves, especially if Stealth Rocks are in play.

    Pokémon Zygarde

That's what I was getting at. The move's attributes looked too silly to not be default behavior.

    Pokémon Zygarde

I'm pretty sure that's just Serebii's default pattern for Physical moves. And even if that's the case, then according to Serebii it ignores Protect and similar moves anyway.

Data Candles of Known Brightness: OU edition

The thing is, Zygarde doesn't get Dragon Rush. Yveltal does. Sorta like how Yveltal doesn't get Night Slash, but Xerneas does.

Data Candles of Known Brightness: OU edition

Is anyone running Black Sludge on non-Poison-types? Gliscor seems to be the most probable wick for this candle...

    Ladder Balanced Hackmons

The only source I've been able to find for those Volcanion and Hoopa stats is here: http://pkgamers.skn1.com/printthread.php?tid=123 From what I understand, they assumed neutral natures for their estimates, which isn't true. The obviously erroneous Diancie stats listed failed to account for the...

    Alphabet Cup

Is there any merit to Tyranitar's Trick or Treat? It seems like the sort of thing you'd throw out as a failsafe when your opponent switches to a counter. Suddenly, Crunch is only resisted by Scraggy, Scrafty, and Pangoro, which could easily be handled by something else on your team. It also...

Flavourmons: what if you took the flavor text literally? (no OHKO or Auto-Win effects)

Tyranitar: Gold: Its body can't be harmed by any kind of attack, so it is very eager to make challenges against enemies Silver: Extremely strong, it can change the landscape. It has an insolent nature that makes it not care about others. Crystal: In just one of its mighty hands, it has the power...

Protean Porygon2, some love for a Pokemon that hasn't even shown up in the anime would be nice.

Official Smogon University Simulator Statistics — November 2013

Arceus's Extreme Speed was never the game's strongest priority; that would have been Absol's Sucker Punch. Currently, the absolute strongest priority attack is Yveltal's STAB Dark Aura Sucker Punch.

    Pokémon Barbaracle

Ah, whoops, you're right. I messed up on my mental math. Still, that's 4 points higher than max base 125s and Adamant Scarf Diggersby at +1, meaning you could probably get away with running 8 fewer Speed EVs. They aren't doing anything for you save letting you tie with another +1 max Barbaracle...

    Pokémon Barbaracle

I wouldn't be so sure. 68 base speed with a Jolly nature maxes out at 258, putting Barbaracle at 516 speed after a Shell Smash. +Speed 252 Scarf Mienshao sits at 508, and is probably the fastest thing Barbaracle should ever worry about outspeeding. Base 95 Scarfers can only hit 475 Speed with a...
