  1. Pokémon Kingdra

Not to mention, Scolipede is more likely to pass a sub on to Kingdra due to its fair amount of bulky; access to spikes/Toxic Spikes, and theoretically working synergistically with Kingdra by "removing" Fairies (though in fairness, they won't come until Kingdra comes out, but having access to...
  2. Pokémon Kingdra

You didn't take in account Modest, or Hydro Pump, which does net the 2hko for the 252 HP/252 Atk Azu sets...though just barely. Or is no one running that? :O Just to advocate Modest, with Sticky Web support it outspeeds Timid Base 130's with 252 Speed EV's. As far as a Speed Boost Partner...
  3. Other Creative / Underrated Sets Thread (Read the thread, NO SHITTY GIMMICKS)

I assume you are speaking to me XD I guess it makes a fine counter to Azumarill, but what about Kingdra's performance with everything else? HP Poision gives you an edge over Fairies, but can't you leave that to another poke? Critdra doesn't have to sacrifice its coverage to get rid of threats...
  4. Other Creative / Underrated Sets Thread (Read the thread, NO SHITTY GIMMICKS)

I'm not sure why you would consider HP Poison. It works in theory, but a neutral Hydro Pump is pretty strong and deals with more threats, since even if you do run it to deal with fairies, you open up a new threatlist in the form of steels. Hydro Pump does less damage but 2HKO's Azumarill...
  5. Pokémon Aegislash

I'm liking Weakness Policy more and more. AegiSmash is now my favorite set (since WP + Autotomize = White Herb + Shell Smash). Now I'm sure people have a great idea of what Aegislash has trouble against. So, why not figure out what Aegislash can set up on/force out? Some obvious choices are...
  6. Pokémon Aegislash

I haven't seen anyone's opinions on Weakness Policy (well I have seen positive reviews, but what about positive feedback? Well, if you know what I mean >.<) Anyway, I'm having trouble with rationalizing the item. On paper, it seems amazing. It turns the Mixed cleaner into a Mixed Sweeper; those...
  7. Pokémon Aegislash

Air Balloon is a great choice. Most Scarfers such as Garchomp and Lando-T are usually going to spam EQ, so just by having a safe switch which gives you at least one free turn is amazing. Better yet, the Balloon is going to save you more turns as those same Scarfers have to waste a sub-optimal...
  8. Pokémon Aegislash

Both sets have their merits and its precisely the roles Aegislash can play that makes each set that hard to counter. King's Shield does have the benefit of murdering Pursuit trappers, but when you boil down to it, the main ones that come to mind are CB Scizor and Tyranitar (most likely Scarf)...
  9. A Change in UT

Well, I'll try my best to contribute. I'm planning on staying here anyway; Aegislash is only part of the reason why I made this account.
  10. Pokémon Aegislash

I like the idea of Gyara being a partner for the SD/KS set. Some notable benefits should the opponent ferret out Aegislash are: -Gyarados can switch into Choiced EQs and Gliscor (to be fair this only applies to the prediction game; your opponent should be wary about spamming EQ's in the first...
  11. Pokémon Aegislash

HP Ice is much better because of the 4x Super-effective. Also, a few people are with ya on that statement, just not HP Water. Though you wont' get much mileage against Hippo as that thing is a freakin tank; previous calcs in this thread go to show that Shadow Ball is better in that instance and...
  12. Pokémon Aegislash

It's a check to the SD set if it ever becomes popular (which it probably will. It's the one most people agree functions, UltiMario Set notwithstanding). And I'm only saying it "checks" due to the fact that it will always phaze (in the absence of hazards) it no matter what Physical Aegislash...
  13. Pokémon Aegislash

Yes, I took that into account. Even if I didn't it's still a 2HKO at most. Oh, wait we cant forget Set-Up Sweepers most favorite check: Skarmory. W/o rock support it's a guaranteed phaze. Too lazy to do the calcs, but I'm pretty sure he can Roost off the damage even at +2 while setting up a...
  14. Pokémon Aegislash

Heatran is a viable counter regardless. Just by base speed alone you can just outspeed and punish with Flamethrower/Fire Blast, there's no way your getting off a +2 Sacred Sword on him. It's extremely easy to switch into Aegis if you are running the King's Shield set as there are multiple...
  15. Item Weakness Policy

That's not a bad idea actually. It's a tad reliant on your opponent, but otherwise it can boost HP Ice to counter Landorus-T. If their move doesn't 2HKO it forces your opponent to use different, more likely weaker options....this gives Aegis more ways to set up in an entirely different manner.
  16. Pokémon Aegislash

I agree, LO Autotomize is amazing in its own right. There's nothing wrong with the other sets as I feel they are more of a support variant and more reliant on the teammate; but if someone wants a sweeper who can sweep on its lonesome this is it. To be honest, you really need defensive stance...
  17. Pokémon Aegislash

To be honest, I'd rather specialize in one type of Defense (personally it's Sp. Def) so it can work in tandem with it's other teamamtes and act as a relliable switch-in. Skarmory + Aegislash is a pretty fun duo as skarm provides the defense and Aegislash has the Sp. Def taken care of. Skarmory...
  18. Pokémon Aegislash

Well it really depends. Losing out on your bulk isn't the most optimal thing either. Something I like about Brave Nature and loss of speed is versus the Aegislash mirror. Those things are pretty hell if you can't predict. Brave Nature make sit A LOT easier to defend against Shadow Sneak in the...
