  1. Middle Cup Discussion Thread

This seems really interesting. I can see Combusken working with an agility set. Is there anything that differentiates it from Monferno? The only thing I can find is that 252atk Adamant LifeOrb Sky Uppercut can OHKO 0/252 Chansey o_o And Magmar seems pretty threatening too with something...
  2. Pokemon Black and White (SPECULATIONS ALLOWED HERE)

Is that Swana using Brave Bird? EDIT: Mamanbo kinda scares meh :x
  3. We're Off To See The Wizard... The Wonderful Wizard of Oz!

If I remember right, Belly Drum is illegal with Wish.
  4. The Underdogs [NU/UU in OU]

I'm pretty sure even with EV's in Atk, Lopunny won't be doing much damage. I suggest changing it's EV spread so that it's slightly more bulkier, and with Encore over Return. Fake Out isn't that helpful either except for breaking sashes, so unless you want to keep that, maybe run Protect? And...
  5. Running Amok [NU/Ubers RMT]

To be honest, I don't play Ubers at all, but it's nice to see other people using lower tiered poke's higher up. Have you considered using a Licklicky? I don't really see the point of using Wailord when it's almost completely outclassed by Kyogre. It barely 2HKO's Groudon in the sun (according...
  6. Pokemon Black & White, aka Gen 5. Coming to Japan in Fall 2010.

Magikarp with swift swim is absolutely dangerous. (with baton pass boosts..)
  7. Prevailing attitudes regarding OU as being the "Best"

I personally hate using cookie cutter teams/sets that has been used so much by other people just because their "better". Maybe it's just me, but it's that reason why I tend to avoid them and go for the underappreciated Pokemon or use gimmicky sets. It also gives off a challenge to find ones in...
  8. Pokemon Black & White, aka Gen 5. Coming to Japan in Fall 2010.

I find those more like the 2nd stage instead of fully evolved.
  9. New and 'creative' moveset/EV spread thread - UU Edition

It's pretty much just the slow ones you mentioned (-Base 60 Spe). Now that I actually look into it, Rock Polish Aggron/Rhyperior outspeeds Seviper even before the Rock Polish. I wouldn't keep Seviper in against an Aggron though (or any steel types for that matter), but Rhyperior is dangerous...
  10. New and 'creative' moveset/EV spread thread - UU Edition

I think Wigglytuff is just best as a supporter. Even with crappy defences, it can still survive quite a few hits. Wish/Protect/Heal Bell and even Perish Song works quite well in the UU environment (atleast in my experience). EDIT: There's a Seviper set that I've been testing for random fun...
  11. Double Battle Metagame.

So I was pretty bored and just wandering around the strategy dex's, when I stumbled across Chatot. I've seen quite a few videos of it being destructive with Nasty Plot, but its usually its low-ish speed that hindered it. So I started thinking of ways of getting around it without forcing Agility...
  12. New and 'creative' moveset/EV spread thread - UU Edition

I've tried a Belly Drum Magmar, it was something like this: Magmar @ Salac Berry 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 6 Hp Adamant/Jolly Belly Drum Fire Punch Thunderpunch / or maybe it was Earthquake? Mach Punch It was really reliant on Stealth Rock on YOUR side, as after a Belly Drum and Stealth Rock...
  13. Pokemon Black & White, aka Gen 5. Coming to Japan in Fall 2010.

I absolutely love those animations. Fast driven battles? Even better +_+
  14. Pokemon Black & White, aka Gen 5. Coming to Japan in Fall 2010.

I think showing the HP loss during the move animation instead of after would be a good idea. It would speed up battles, and be more realistic like. ^Fury Swipes would cut off HP, while moves like Flamethrower would lose HP to however long the animation is.
  15. Pokemon Black & White, aka Gen 5. Coming to Japan in Fall 2010.

I don't think the sprites can be improved much anymore, just the poses. Even if the sprites are the same as the HGSS ones, they added more animations to them atleast.
  16. Pokemon Black & White, aka Gen 5. Coming to Japan in Fall 2010.

The one on the right is a slug with an anteater head + mustache. The one on the left is a fish with a spring nose. And the one in the middle is a weird mammal with a huge nose for its face o_O? EDIT: Now that I think about it, the silohuette in the middle for the original one could be the...
  17. Pokemon Black & White, aka Gen 5. Coming to Japan in Fall 2010.

The third link with the grass starter as a lizard looks interesting. Certainly better looking than Treecko IMO.
  18. Pokemon Black & White, aka Gen 5. Coming to Japan in Fall 2010.

Exactly what I was thinking O_O Altho being an anteater wouldn't be that bad.
  19. NP: UU - Bye Bye Bye

Ugh, and I was hoping for Moltres too leave too :[ Am I the only one who has serious trouble with Moltres even with SR up?
