  1. Change you would make to the type chart

Fire has become very popular, and lots already carry something like it for coverage against steels... It's resistance to water and electric is not too balanced, considering most waters and electrics tend to run Ice attacks for coverage anyway... and as you noted, Flying is becoming more common...
  2. Change you would make to the type chart

You mean like a forest full of Evergreen Trees? Like I said, examples can be given for almost any X vs. Y... If it would help the game (as in give the defensively weak Grass typing a better advantage) it isn't as moronic as you claim it to be. What's the worst that happens... Abomasnow...
  3. Change you would make to the type chart

Honestly, you could think of damn near any example that would make one thing be superior over the other... How about some more ideas that would improve the gameplay, rather than more examples of why X type "can" beat Y type given enough imagination.
  4. Change you would make to the type chart

I'd make Grass not weak to Ice (as my grass never dies when it snows) and Grass has enough weaknesses to worry about. I'd make Psychics and Fighting resist Normal (body and mind over matter) since the existing Normal resists are countered too easily w/ coverage. Ghosts would actually resist...
  5. a different hack-related thread

"Legit hacking" is pretty much an oxymoron. So you don't have the time or luck to obtain, train, and set up the team you want... but I could imagine why people who DO spend their time and effort could be miffed about playing against someone who just hacked the team they wanted. Hacking in...
  6. Is Blissey truly gamebreaking?

Gamefreak needed to overcentralize the game around attacking... as nobody wants to pray their DS stays connected through a 2 hour stall match, or wait those 2-hours for the next round of a tournament. Blissey, and pokemon like her, is a necessary evil in competitive pokemon, as without her...
  7. List with the most used Pokemon in the new metagame, based in the RTM Subforums

Let's see: 3 immunities to common physical attacks (Normal, Fighting, Ground), spikes, and arena trap. Excellent special attacking stats and movepool, including nice BP on two uncommonly resisted STABs, Will O' Wisp and Hypnosis, running off 110 base speed. Focus Blast as a prediction counter...
  8. Gamestop Tournament "I'm Going To This Store" Registry.

Wow, I'm going to NYC to celebrate someone's birthday, and figured I lost my chance to destroy a bunch of little kids for a free game... then I realized I'd be going to the one Surgo would be at, and I would have most likely gotten my arse handed to me... so I'm not too disappointed anymore...
  9. Judgment of paralysis *WARSTORY* Jibaku vs. maniaclyracist

And I have to ask... cause I keep flip-flopping between both... Is it Maniac-Lyracist... or Maniac'ly-Racist?... or both on purpose?
  10. Judgment of paralysis *WARSTORY* Jibaku vs. maniaclyracist

Yah, but Aura Sphere does a number to Normal/Dark Arceus, and Darkrai, and even if it's not an OHKO, it hits Ttar hard enough. Blissey lols at every special attack... at least that one does the most damage.... how much does the "plate" increase an Arceus attack? Cause a Min/Min Blissey takes...
  11. Judgment of paralysis *WARSTORY* Jibaku vs. maniaclyracist

That and let's not forget the possibility of Aura Spheres being a commonly expected attack in Ubers to counter TTar, Blissey, and eventually Darkrai. And I don't care what anybody says... Blissey's a freakin uber. Everybody says it, "Nobody special walls the way she does".
  12. In Memory of the Pokemon TCG(WotC Era)

In other words, as Hitmonchan decreased in popularity due to the domination of Psychics, you put together an anti-Psychic deck that took advantage of less Hitmonchans. My league had a few anti-psychic decks, but I dealt with them, Electabuzz would keep them down until Gengar could shift around...
  13. Do You "Customize" Your Pokemon?

Well, with the info given here, it means I won't be adding seals.. (not worth the hassle). I only nickname in-game teams... as generally any nickname used in friendly battles is generally silly, stupid, or a pun nobody likes or gets... i.e. Magnezpwn, Frogger, or Gayquaza.
  14. In Memory of the Pokemon TCG(WotC Era)

Yah, but those two cards would make you think nothing's wrong, since they're going back to their roots. You really need to show some of the bogus cards that showed up in between that made the game horrendously lopsided. I think the problem was adding too many mechanics with not enough...
  15. In Memory of the Pokemon TCG(WotC Era)

You spoke the truth... but you definitely picked the wrong dang cards to make a point. Why didn't you show like, the Fighting type Elekid, or the Steel Tyranitar with the two weaknesses, next to a berry, a special trainer card, and a stadium card? Sure, it was fun... it was simple... but...
  16. Do You Use Your Own Pokemon?

I only use traded pokemon for parents or for breeding moves... I'm hardcore when it comes to my team members... I breed them all myself, train them all myself, get them ribbon'd up, and refuse to infect them with the Pokerus... I only use Grade A 100% Organic Pokemon on my team! EDIT: -...
  17. DP Metagame Analysis - 6/11/07

Much of the post actually showed that versatility can be useful. Sucker Punch can be surprising on ANY slow pokemon, not just the given Murkrow... And versatile pokemon like Ambipom can be just as tricky as Salamence, or Ttar... causing your opponent much grief if they're not prepared to...
  18. DP Metagame Analysis - 6/11/07

Jirachi was given away on bonus discs... maybe I'm just spoiled because a friend of mine gave me one when he worked at EB Games, but I had always considered Jirachi much more "available" than Celebi... If not, I need to start transferring some more Jirachi's onto my Ruby...
  19. DP Metagame Analysis - 6/11/07

I thought Celebi was an event pokemon? Why would it be expected?
  20. Shinies :(

I'm imagining a person turning the game on and legitimately running into 8000+ shinies... your friends would hate you and love you at the same time. However, your math is still wrong. As you mentioned there's a 1/8192 chance that a SINGLE pokemon will be shiny. For you to get 8192 shinies...
