your point is kind of moot in the case of laddering, which is where most competitive battling gets done. when you ladder you want a consistent team. sure it can have tricks up it's sleeves but when you're facing the same opponent twice, you lose a good deal of the "advantage" you built...

note that hp fire means you lose to other lead gengars. you lose automatically to heatran leads but they might switch for fear of FB. lead bullet punching metagross will beat you too. don't ever run gyara without a water attack, it's really a bad idea, not to meantion ice fang barely does more...

why is rotom even a problem? resttalk pert is like the best switch into rotom (save rotom-c) ever =\ you have surprisingly little coverage vs celebi for a resttalk cursepert team. the only thing it's actually worried about is zapdos (hariyama/gliscor and p2 hardly dent it with their SE attacks)...
