Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

What's there that needs to be fixed? Looks like you hit your delay to me, haha.
omg really? i got one before but i didn't get the ivs i desired. hmm ill try this one now.

edit: it's like the calls rearranged order in-game but in the rng reporter they have their own arrangement. :|

When doing WonderCard IV RNG abuse I need to save in front of the green guy in the PokeMart. Set my DS to the tartget date and time and proceed to do the usual procedure to hit my delay. As I'm doing this should I open the PokeGear AS SOON AS POSSIBLE? Then should I proceed to call Elm a few times to verify I hit my delay AND to start advancing my frame correct? Also to advance my frames faster I can do so by tapping the top right station on the radio correct? I just need verification.

@Champloo:
Top right on the radio isn't reliable, however if will advance it between 14 and 18 frames, so as long as you do say 4 at a time, and then check your frame with a few elm calls (should be about 56-72 ahead of where you started), then you can use it pretty reliably.

And yes, that is how you do it for WonderCards. Do open pokegear ASAP, because some pokecenters have npcs which advance the frame.

I'll be doing this at Cerulean. Another question though. I just found out that the delay that is required is to high for my usual delay...does this mean I can't do this RNG unless I either LEARN how to use Emloop or Piketimer OR can I go for a higher frame (which I don't mind at all). My target frame is 116 and my delay is 495. but the lowest I can go 550 and that's a year of 2099...the DS can't go any higher then that O_o...what can I do?

I'm not sure I understand.

Is your target delay 495? Or is that your calibrated delay.

If that's your target delay and you can't get that low then there is no way to hit that seed.

If that's your calibrated delay, and 550 is your target delay then it'd probably be easiest to learn Pikatimer. Otherwise you'll be having to slow down your A pressing just enough to hit the right delay, and that could take a LONG time.

man up and use a timer

you'd need to use a timer for black and white if you want shiny IV's.

Yeah.. you hit it.
The answers aren't so much rearranged as they are shifted. Notice how it's in the same order, you just had a different starting position. It is rare that it will start with the same one that it starts with on the RNGReporter.

Ya 495 is my calibrated delay and I can hit that delay VERY easily. I guess I have no choice but to learn how to use Pikatimer.

Lol thanks I shall and HAVE to do this then. It's about time I learn anyways.

i think im getting wrong frames. I keep getting the ivs i didn't ask for.

frame: 10
target: i changed my target again, i forgot but it looks something like this:
EKKEPPKPEKPK
im getting: KEPPKPEKPKEK

You're probably starting on frame 3.
You should call 7 times then pick up the egg.
It looks like you might be calling more than you need to and therefore hitting a higher frame than you're trying for.

ok i see, i changed to a target of 12 so i can call 9 times. hope i get this right.

oh gosh, i would like to thanks EVERYONE who spent time to help me rng abuse. wala, 31/30/31/31/30/31!!

is it possible to RNG in saphire?
I've heard that if the internal battery in a Ruby/Sapphire cartridge is dead, the RNG behaves exactly the same as in Emerald, but I don't know if that has been confirmed or not (can someone confirm/deny this?). If it's true, then yes, it is possible; just follow the same steps as you would for Emerald. There's really been no research done into R/S games that still have a working internal battery, so it would definitely not be possible (at least at the moment) in that case.

Just from my experience, the starting frame doesn't depend on the seed, the starting frame is always (without roamers) 1 (for me at least). Just sometimes I have saved during an NPC movement or the like, which forces the frame to advance the instant the game starts. Usually, if I find myself starting on say Frame 3. If I just resave my game and try again 9 times out of 10 I will start at Frame 1 again.

so how would i kill it?

It's really just a waiting game, it can only have so much charge, and once it's gone it's gone.
When you start the game it'll tell you that the internal battery has died (if it has of course).

Otherwise you could take the cartridge apart, and remove the internal battery completely (or take it out, dissipate it through a wire, and then put it (when empty) back in). But that seems a lot of effort...

Many times it just happens as the game ages.

The big problem that I see is that you wont really be able to save anymore. Or if you're able to, it wont last. You probably don't want to kill it. At least that's the way it worked when the batteries died on my other games...

The only thing that happens when the internal battery runs out is that you will no longer be able to accomplish anything that takes TIME in the game. For example growing berries. My Sapphire battery died recently after SEVEN WHOLE YEARS. So depending on how long you've had that game, the batteries life might be close to an end. Although I'm no expert I don't believe it's possible to RNG in RS like you can in Emerald even after the battery dies. I could be wrong though.

This surprises me. Do they have a separate battery for persistent storage?
Now that i think about it, my sapphire has a dead battery but still has a save so I should've known that.

Okay, I'm trying to get a shiny Jolly Ho-oh and a shiny Jolly Rayquaza with 31/31/31/0/31/31 iv set but my friends were suggesting that I hit one with a higher delay so that I'll have more time to to get through the info and hit the delay on time.
So my question is......

How can you hit a lower delay of an SID/ID combo in one or less than a minute when you start a new game?

If it's impossible, then how was Christian able to hit the right lower delay in one minute to get that shiny Jolly Ho-oh with that iv set (31/31/31/0/31/31)?

Your thinking of the older generations. I & II held there save data on the battery. III and up do not. So it's still possible to save, but you won,t be able to do time based events. I'm thinking since this is so I think you won't even be able to RNG without time...since that is what you need O_o...I'm probably wrong though.

EDIT: I'm using Pikatimer now and I seem to be doing all the steps correctly but when I go to verify what delay I hit on the Seed to Time window I get no results. Can anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong? O_o...

there is usually no battery for save games anymore. since the gba some use either flash memory, eeprom, or feram. a few still used sram as of the gba, but it wasn't many.

they have different sizes, too. eeprom is 4k-64k, sram/feram is 256k, and flash ram is 512k-1mb. pokemon uses flash memory.
