Alright, so my nomination...

569.gif

Garbodor @black sludge
Trait: Stench
Evs: 252 Hp, 160 Def, 58 spe, 40 Atk
Nature: Impish (+ Def - spA)
-Spikes
-Toxic Spikes
-Rock Blast / Gunk Shot
-Clear Smog

  • Sets up spikes and toxic spikes for his team members.
  • Takes pressure off Miltank as physical wall, as it can reliably switch into Sawk.
  • Clears stat boosts with clear smog.
  • Can take on common spinners like cryo with rock blast.
  • Absorbs toxic spikes on his own right.

All in all, garbodor serves as a safe switch into sawk thanks to good defence and poison typing. This also lets him absorb toxic spikes and lay them down as well. Clear smog makes him not set-up fodder, meaning he can take on some set-up sweepers as well.

Exeggutor (F) @ Sitrus Berry
Trait: Harvest
EVs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 44 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Leech Seed
- Psychic
- Sleep Powder
  • Pretty Unexepected and catch most teams unprepared
  • Very annoying with Leech Seed and Sleep Powder
  • Psychic is very powerfull even uninvested and can OHKO the major part of Fighting type in NU
  • Harvest with Sitrus Berry grants immortality to Exeggutor

This set is not mine, but i've tested a lot with my semi-stall team and he's pretty annoying. He can just comes in on any Sawk attack (execpt the rare predicted Toxic) tanks him and start to set up, waiting for Cripple/weaken/OHKO/put to sleep the switch in. I think that a Leech Seed abuser can be a good member for a stall team, and Exeggutor is one of the best together with Tangela.

Vileplume (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Effect Spore
EVs: 252 HP / 208 Def / 48 SAtk
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Toxic/Aromatherapy
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb/Substitute
- Leech Seed/Moonlight/Sleep Powder/Protect

• Its Poison typing allows it to absorb Toxic Spikes upon entering the battlefield.
• Grass/Poison is a great defensive type.
• Good base 100 Special Attack stat
• Can cripple thing with Effect Spore
• Can work well as a part of a Defensive core
• excellent physical bulk

Vileplume is just pure gold in an ideal stall team it can spread status’ like crazy. It has pretty decent base special attack, takes no effort to recover the health back with a wide option of moves like: Moonlight, Giga Drain or Leech Seed and can be a very versatile threat in a stall team. It can act as a Cleric, Toxic staller or a Subseeder. Vileplumes amazing typing could potentially be made into a threatening defensive core.

Weaknesses: Ice, Fire, Psychic, Flying
Resists: Electric, Grass, Water, Fighting

Synergy options:
• Seaking (Lightningrod) – Resists Ice, Fire.
• Regirock – Resists Flying, Fire

Misdreavus @ Eviolite
Trait: Levitate
EV's:252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Nature: Timid (+Spd, -Atk)
-Substitute / Taunt
-Nasty Plot
-Shadow Ball
-Thunderbolt
  • Immunity to Normal, Fighting, and Ground
  • Effective stall breaker
  • Most defensive spin blocker
  • Can easily go more defensive with a 252 HP 232 Def 24 Spd spread
Misdreavus can taunt on notable heal bellers like Lickilicky and Miltank who will most likely be unable to touch him. Substitute allows Misdreavus to set up more easily on rapid spinners.

Misdreavus further supports Miltank and Garbodor by protecting their hazards. Taunt can be used to shut down enemy walls will substitute allows Misdreavus to set up more easily. Psychic types can also be scared out by Misdreavus, namely Musharna and Hypno.

The idea isn't to try to pick good Pokemon for those already mentioned; it's to pick a single, solid Pokemon that does performs well on a stall team. Misdreavus is good, but yeah that reasoning is a bit silly.

@Leftovers
Trait: Overgrow
Bold (+Def, -Atk)
252HP, 60Def, 196 Speed
~Glare/Taunt
~Substitute
~Giga Drain
~Dragon Tail/Leech Seed

  • Fantastic speed and one of the fastest Taunts around
  • Able to paralyse all but Misdreavus and the rare Limber Persian
  • Can parashuffle or Subseed
  • Many other support options including DualScreens and Calm Mind

Lickilicky @ Leftovers
Trait: Own Tempo
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 Spd
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell / Dragon Tail
- Body Slam

  • Great response to any Special threat without boostable Fighting attacks.
  • One of the best Wish users in the tier, lets us use pokemon without reliable healing more easily.
  • Heal Bell removes Toxic from everything, while Dragon Tail phases.
  • Body Slam provides Paralysis support and ensures it's not setup fodder.

Vullaby (F) @ Eviolite
Trait: Overcoat
EVs: 252 HP / 16 Atk / 4 Def / 236 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Roost
- Knock Off
- Whirlwind/Mean Look/Substitute
- Protect/Toxic/Tailwind/Taunt

• Has almost perfect synergy with Garbodor
• Immune to ground and psychic
• Decent mixed bulklyness
• Great defensive typing
• Eviolite allows it to run a very effective defensive stall set
• ROOST ON EVERYTHING!

As I’ve recently made a team based around Garbodor in NU, I wanted to make something that can take advantage of Garb’s Hazards. Vullaby is also immune to Psychic and Ground! (Which Garb is weak too)

Okay, into the analyses of Vullaby. It’s got an amazing defensive typing which can be covered by a standard F/W/G core. It can potentially be a Phaser, Death Trapper and Toxic staller. Well quite obviously Vullaby can be quite versatile depending on the team you work with. It also gets ROOST! Stall pokes all day! Knock off can just cripple pokemon like other eviolite users and even walls with leftovers.

Other options.. Yes tailwind, I know that sounds like a bad idea but let's think how much that can help a stall team.. asdfgh faster pokes stall better :') - It's a gimmick, but I thought I'd share it.

I’ll most likely post an RMT of the team this was used in. (stay tuned guys)

Synergy options:
Vileplume! because it’s weak to Psychic, Vulla resists electric
Lead Garb! because it’s weak to Psychic and Ground, Vulla is Immune to both.

My teambuilding is far below par, so I want to see if this idea has potential on a stall-ish team built by other people who know what they're doing. :)

566.png
@ Leftovers
96 HP/244 SpDef/168 Spe
Careful / Guts

Substitute
Protect
Bulk Up/Payback
Circle Throw

sub+protect lets it put pokemon on a timer if they switch in to toxic spikes or are already poisoned, and it can also scout for choice moves this way. circle throw is great, as is bulk up, though payback gives it an option to at least hit ghost-types (best part is with Protect that disable Haunter can't stop you from using Payback). As a stand-alone recommendation, I don't want to post something that's purely walled by any Ghost-type pokemon, but Bulk Up is seriously great on this set and can actually help make its sub impenetrable versus unprepared teams. Its special bulk is phenomenal, and its physical bulk can be even better if it gets a couple boosts in, though Payback is an equally solid option. I posted this set in the project NU thread with some calcs there, so I won't clutter this thread by reposting them.

Frillish @ Eviolite
252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD Bold
-Taunt
-Recover
-Night Shade
-Toxic / WoW

Frillish is just an incredible spinblocker. It easily blocks Cryogonal, the most common spinner of the Metagame, alongside rarer opponents like Torkoal and Wartortle. It's one of the best defensive spinblocking options, only rivaled by the popular Misdreavus. (Lampent is better off going with some offensive investment) Recover is a great move, and Taunt is very effective against defensive teams. Probably more speed can be run to get the most mileage out of Taunt, but the EV spread can be altered. You could even change it to a specially defensive spread: its typing suggests physical D, but its stats are better for special D. With Physically defensive spread, you can soft check Emboar with little prediction, and catch SD Samurott. Night Shade is a consistent attack that does damage and breaks substitutes, without having to worry about resistances. Finally, Toxic whittles down Cryo, but WoW can be used if we want to catch Skuntank switch-ins. Ideally, Taunt will prevent Cryo from Recovering too much HP anyways, and Tspikes should be up unless the opponent has a poison-type.

edit: as for the Vullaby, you may as well be better off with an Eviolite Prankster Murkrow.

As long as you consider it stall, I completely support Vileplume. In the current metagame, with Jynx gone not much can get past Vileplume. Often it can bulk out a team with very little support.

It also has the plus of being able to absorb Toxic Spikes, which is otherwise a pain to teams that are designed to outlive out the opponent by taking hits.

k so here's a set I thought of a bit ago and it works like a fucking tank, never dies
Spr_4p_200.png
@ Eviolite
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 228 Def / 28 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Will-O-Wisp
- Shadow Ball
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
  • Great immunities and bulk
  • Fucking lasts for ever with restalk
  • One of the best spinblockers
  • Support with heal bell, use lickilicky or something. It's stall so a cleric is pretty necessary anyway.
  • Cockblocks Sawk and other shit throughout the match, handles golem
  • Can literally just sit there and stall whole teams out.
  • Arguably the spinblocker with most longevity.
  • EVs are obviously to speed creep, shadow ball is STAB and will o wisp wrecks physical attackers.

435.gif

Skuntank @ Leftovers
Trait: Aftermath
EVs: 216 HP / 252 SDef / 40 Spd
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Taunt
- Roar / Haze
- Poison Jab
- Crunch / Sucker Punch / Pursuit

  • Awecome typing bulk on the special side allows it to sponge Leaf Storms, Shadow Balls, Sludge Bombs, Psychics, etc.
  • Great counter for Exeggutor, Duosion, Kadabra, and Misdreavus which are all significant threats to stall.
  • Absorbs Toxic Spikes.
  • Has interesting support options in Roar and Haze.
  • Speed EV's allow it to outspeed Misdreavus and Taunt it.
  • Sucker Punch could be used over Crunch to hit faster threats.
  • Pursuit is an option to trap and deal huge damage to the most common spinner, Cryogonal. It can also make sure that the threats list above take damage when they try to switch out.
  • Best used with Wish support since it has no recovery.
  • Outruns SD Guts Ursaring and can hit it once with Poision Jab. This, combined with some smart switching and Protect ensures that Ursaring will never run over the team like it does with nearly every other stall team.

357.png
@ Sitrus Berry
Trait: Harvest
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Leech Seed
- Protect
- Substitute
- Air Slash
  • Decent defensive typing
  • Good bulk
  • Evs are for maximum physical bulk and speed creeping other Tropius by 2 points!.
  • Once Toxic Spikes are up it stalls everything that is not a grass/poison and those can be defeated with Air slash anyway.
  • This is what happens once Trop comes in
    t9v.png
  • Can survive better without a Heal Bell user and is not fucked as eggy if Toxic Spikes are up. Asumming Stealth Rock and 2 layers of spikes are up Trop takes less residual damage.
  • It is a motherfucking dinosaur, do you need another reason?.

22.jpg

Dragonair @ Eviolite
Trait: Shed Skin
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 Def
Careful Nature
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Dragon Tail
- Thunder Wave

-Great bulk, can be annoying to take down
-Abuses SR/Spikes by phazing everything
-Provides T-wave support
-Shed Skin can take any status or just rest it off
-Rest also allows Dragon Tail to be used without negative priority
-Can also stall out thing with Resttalk

Probopass (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Stealth Rock
- Volt Switch
- Power Gem
- Protect

It is a simple set. We will end up with a rock type anyways, so why not pick Probopass? Gives us Stealth Rock, momentum in Volt Switch. A ninjask killer and scouting choice attackers*

This lets us know what to do against Braviary / Emboar / Sawk.

Protect also lets us get back to sturdy if w have to take stealth rock damage, and stall out toxiced mons which I hope will be on the opposing team

Was this kind of forgotten about?

Since DTC is a lazy bum...

Voting time! There are a ton of options, so which Pokemon should we build a stall team around?

DTC's Miltank
Full2Half's Garbodor
Ewil's Exeggutor
StopthatDragonite's Misdreavus
Axa's Serperior
erisia's Lickilicky
xJaiYT's Vullaby (note: I didn't include Vileplume because you can only nominate a single Pokemon)
Lady Shinki's Throh
Amarillo's Frillish
shnen's Misdreavus
FLCL's Skuntank
TropiOUs's Tropius
Aquaaa's Dragonair
Raseri's Probopass

Because several Pokemon have different sets, please vote only for the names of the players, ex. Zebraiken rather than Muk. In order to keep this moving, the voting period will only last a day or two, so get to voting!

Fuck it. I'm voting for DTC
