Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Just checking before I start :). Haven't bred any pokes for ages but wanna attempt HG/SS breeding. With a few questions inbetween what I plan on doing.

So I get parents ready, I find what frame my shiny egg is on. Let's say for the sake of arguement it's 1.
I hit my delay and check using the roamers method to see if I hit my delay.
Then make the old man hold an egg.
(Does it matter how many pokes I have in my party?)
Save.
Then find my target frame with the spread I want.
Try and hit my delay (checking with Romsstar's roamers :P) + advance using radio if needed, then collect egg?

Am I missing anything?

No but the Elm Method is easier, but all in all you're right.
 
Yay, RNG abuse for HG/SS has been cracked!

I have a couple questions:

First, what's the starting frame for the kanto/hoenn starters? Is it just the same as the johto ones?

Second, can you find out your Secret ID with only 1 red gyarados caught (since I've already caught mine)?

Finally, do you even need your Secret ID if you're not going for a shiny - just a good spread?

Thanks, I'll try this method first :), you haven't posted elm method in your sig link yet and I can understand roamer method :).

Or you can link me to elm method explanation? I'm lazy to search for it. 22:31 here and that is late for me.
 
I managed to RNG for a Latias and found that I got a frame that people could use for a "decent" Latias without such a large hassle for high frames. I used this seed with Latios and it also worked

SEED: FC0C01F7
Nature: Timid
IVs: 22/31/30/30/27/30
Hidden Power: Fire 70
Target Frame: 16
Monster Frame: 7 (JUST FOR THIS SEED)
Advances needed: 9

It's pretty simple to get, so for anyone having Lati troubles try this out if you're willing for a small step down in HP and Sp. Def. Besides, we're bound to get the Enigma Crystal event soon, so get this for the time being and get your amazing quintuple prefect Lati for that event.

Also I'm just wondering why did the caught pokemon in the calibration change from any lv pokemon to now a lv 50+ one?

It's actually always been suggested that the Pokémon be at or above level 50. Essentially, RNG Reporter finds your seed by searching for IVs; if you input stats rather than IVs, the program must search for all possible combinations of your IVs. The higher your level, the easier it is to calculate your IVs, and thus the fewer number of combinations there will be. I believe that 50 is a "landmark" level for calculating IVs. If you try a Pokémon below level 50, it's quite probable that it will give you an error stating there are too many possibilities.
 
I just want to confirm that I'm reading this right: with Romsstar's new program, RNGing in HG/SS for non-roaming legends, gift Pokemon, and eggs should work the same way it does in DPPt, but using Prof. Elm instead of the journal and coin flip to advance your frame and confirm your seed?
 
quick question about Honey tree RNG: Once you slathered the tree with honey a PID is created, so I can just check with poke I got and then RNG for gender/nature/ability?
 
Okay, I'm confused. I went to abuse my Entei, did the entire 140 needed radio advances that was supposed to put me on frame 143. Well I confirmed my seed, did the advances, beat Lance, saved and went to catch Entei. I thought I miscounted, so seeing it non-shiny wasn't suprising. What was was the fact that it was still on frame 3. Does the radio just not work in the room Lance is in? Because I tried to call Elm, and it said something about how the call couldn't go through. Maybe I missed something, but what's going on? PS: I used the upper left hand radio, and it was on a Sunday. The time was between 22:42-22:55.

That one isn't consistent either, same thing happened when I tried it. Omegadonut or some other mod needs to update the radio listings. To everyone else that tries this: the ONLY channels that are consistent are the two in the bottom right corner that play the goldenrod theme. They are always +1. All of the others from what I've seen are not consistent or do nothing.
 
Wish I had known that earlier. But what about not being able to call Elm? I figured that would have worked. I can still use legends, but I won't have anyone out when I go for Raikou later on.
 
Crap, does calling Elm work in the room before, or just not where the E4 is at all? I need to check up on that....

Yeah, I can confirm sometimes the bottom left can be inconsistent as well. Earlier today, I kept hitting frame 17 instead of 16 tuning/detuning the bottom left radio station five times which should've equaled 15 frame advances. Luckily, I kept calling Elm so it was fine after but it was a little frustrating. But I can't really complain, we are warned continually that HG/SS abuse is plain inconsistent....
 
hey i just have a question to ask even though it may be in wrong thread or could be this 1 because its about capturing a pokemon..hm well are we able to get the SID of a shiny pokemon like red gyarados in the game ..or not?friend told me it does not count but i haven't tried it or have no knowledge of it

please help?:D

It is generated by the same method as chained shinies. This means you should knock it out, come back to it Post-E4, and capture it multiple times, resetting between each one. Use this information to generate your SID>.
 
Oh my God, it took me 30 minutes to hit the seed I wanted and I start the battle with Kyogre and quickly proceed to KO it with a critical hit.

Just want to make sure I'm doing this right before I try again:
Aiming for seed C30401F3, frame 13 with Method K.

Saved outside the Embedded Tower.
Kyogre's starting frame is 1.
Called Elm 10 times and verified K E P K P E E P K K.
I'm now on frame 11. ?
Went in AND out of the Embedded Tower twice.
I'm now on frame 13. ?
Went in the Embedded Tower again and started the battle with Kyogre.

Assuming that the cave advancement is consistent, then yes. Although, I would just call Elm 12 times rather than doing that. Also, I recommend getting yourself a catcher Breloom or Smeargle with spore and false swipe.

There's an NPC that effects the frame.
