[Overview]

Corphish is one of the most unexpected Pokemon in Little Cup. It has a good Attack stat, but a though its poor Speed stat is disappointing. It Corphish also has a good Defense stat, along with an average HP stat, allowing it to take hits easier. All in all, Corphish is a rather average Pokemon, but it has a niche in the fast-paced Little Cup metagame: It has access to Crunch, which gives it an advantage over Krabby, as it can hit Ghost-types with a super effectively move. Do not expect too much from Corphish, as Croagunk, the premier priority abuser of Little Cup, walks all over it.

[SET]
name: Dragon Dance
move 1: Dragon Dance
move 2: Waterfall
move 3: Return
move 4: Crunch
item: Life Orb / Oran Berry
ability: Shell Armor
nature: Jolly
evs: 196 Atk / 76 Def / 236 Spe
ivs: 0 HP

[Set Comments]

Corphish hits 14 Speed with Max speed and +Spe nature, allowing it to outpace all un-Scarfed Pokemon in Little Cup after a Dragon Dance. Waterfall is for STAB, and Return provides solid neutral coverage. Crunch is what sets it apart from Krabby, as it hits Ghosts hard on the who switch in as they try to soak a predicted Return. After a single Dragon Dance, Corphish hits 25 Attack backed by a Life Orb and 21 Speed. With this raw power, Corphish destroys a lot of the metagame with its assortment of attacks. The thing that Corphish worries about the most is priority; a Mild natured Croagunk with 188 SpA EVs that uses Vacuum Wave does takes over half of Corphish's HP guaranteed with Vacuum Wave. Gligar is OHKOed regardless of its set, which is a testament to how powerful Corphish can be if it is set up properly. Corphish can also OHKO Munchlax 29% of the time with one Dragon Dance, though a 2HKO is guaranteed.
but if it doesn't, it is a guaranteed 2HKO.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Corphish can rip holes in your opponent's team once priority users are down and Scarfers are out of the way either down or paralyzed. X-Scissor and Rock Slide sound great on this set, but Corphish just can't afford the moveslots, as all of its moves are very important. Brick Break is the move to counter things like opponents such as Snover and Munchlax. Corphish appreciates Stealth Rock support for breaking Focus Sashes and chipping away at the opponent's HP.

Corphish packs afew things that set it apart from perks over Dragon Dance Barboach and Totodile; Barboach keels over to any sort of Grass-type attack, while Corphish has only a 2x weakness, thus reducing their impact. Corphish stars as a late-game sweeper, which is where we can compare it to Totodile. Assuming that all priority users and Scarfers have been eliminated, we can see that Corphish has a higher Attack stat, enabling it to do more damage. This is important for a late game cleanup. As a bonus, it has Shell Armor over the other two, ensuring a critical hit won't prematurely end your sweep.

Hidden Power Psychic Croagunk, Hidden Power Flying Mantyke, and Gligar are good partners as they destroy Croagunk, which is Corphish's main check. Also, Shellder can help with Rapid Spin, while using and a good lead for Stealth Rock goes a long way in helping Corphish. Pineco is also good as it could can be used as a lead, and has access to Rapid Spin and Stealth Rock, without sharing the same weaknesseses as Shellder.
is a spinner and can set up Stealth Rock just like Shellder, without sharing the same weaknesses.

move 3: Crunch
move 4: Return
item: Life Orb
ability: Shell Armor
nature: Jolly
evs: 196 Atk / 76 Def / 236 Spe
ivs: 0 HP

[Set Comments]

Corphish gets excellent coverage with Waterfall, Crunch, and Return. The 0 HP IV ensures a gives 19 HP stat, which meansyou Corphish only takes 1 point of damage from the recoil of Life Orb. After a Swords Dance, Corphish reaches a mind-blowing Attack stat of 34 with Life Orb behind it. With proper support, this Corphish can rip apart teams. Once again, priority is a problem, but that is solved to an extent by Baton Passing it a Substitute. This is a powerful lategame sweeper.

Speed is the only problem for this set, and while it is quite crippling, it can be fixed by proper team support. This set works extremely well against the rare stall teams. Because stall teams as they usually have slow Pokemon such as Munchlax and Bronzor. Corphish is able to set up on them and then do some sweeping. On the other hand, offense teams seem to make Corphish want to cry. If Corphish actually manages to get a Swords Dance up, it usually gets to scores a single KO one Pokemon because of its terrible Speed. Another unfortunate piece of news is that very few people use stall teams in Little Cup, which means that it will be hard for Corphish to set up on anything.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

This is probably Corphish's most devastating set, but it definitely needs team support. Rapid Spin and Stealth Rock support are helpful for minimizing damage to Corphish, and breaking Focus Sashes. Sadly, Corphish is held back by its mediocre 14 Speed. This can be fixed by Baton Passing it a Substitute (optional, as it helps by gives it a safe Swords Dance behind the Substitute) and an Agility (giving it 28 Speed, enough to rip through teams at a blistering pace). Gligar is great at this, due to access to Agility, Substitute, and Baton Pass. Aipom can also do this well.

Once again, Croagunk is a problem for weakened Corphish due to Fake Out and Vacuum Wave. Hidden Power Psychic Croagunk is again a good partner for this Corphish set to take out opposing Croagunk. While this looks like a poor man's Krabby, Corphish has a better(but nevertheless still poor) Special Defense stat than it, allowing it to take Croagunk's Vacuum Wave and other special moves slightly better. Also, it has Crunch, which deals more damage to Ghost-types than Crabhammer. The Swords Dance set appreciates Stealth Rock and Rapid Spin support, however, it also needs some Baton Passed Speed (preferably from behind a Substitute) in order to actually sweep. Gligar is a good teammate for Swords Dance Corphish, as it can pass it Speed boosts and KO Croagunk, its biggest threat.

[SET]
name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Waterfall
move 2: Crunch
move 3: Return
move 4: Brick Break / Rock Slide
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Shell Armor
nature: Jolly
evs: 12 HP / 196 Atk / 236 Spe

[Set Comments]

Corphish reaches the magical number 14 in its Speed stat, allowing it to use a Choice Scarf effectively. This set doesn't pack as much power as the others, but has good revenge-killing potential. This set can hit everything in Little Cup at least neutrally; as usual, Waterfall is good STAB, and Crunch is a hard hitting move, and Return pairs well with Waterfall. The last slot is a filler, where you can choose what bonus hits you want Corphish to have achieve. Rock Slide coves Flying-types, while Brick Break covers Dark-types, while also 2HKOing Snover. Superpower is an outside choice for hit-and-run tactics, but it is not recommended due to the difficulty of bringing Corphish in without suffering a lot of damage.(remove space)

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

This Corphish set badly needs Stealth Rock support to help revenge kill, due to its unboosted Attack stat. Again, Croagunk can do a lot of damage with Fake Out + Vacuum Wave, thus necessitating your own Croagunk with Hidden Power Psychic. However, unlike the Swords Dance set, this doesn't need Baton Passed Speed, thus freeing up a slot on your team. Mantyke is a good Croagunk check, who can be placed in this slot. Corphish generally requires the same team support for most of its sets; Stealth Rock, Rapid Spin, and Hidden Power Psychic Croagunk are handy regardless of the moveset.

[Team Options]

(remove space)A good partner that goes to pair with Corphish is Dratini; Dratini resists both of Corphish's weaknesses, (Electric and Grass) while Corphish resists can switch into Ice type-attacks. Corphish also has good synergy with bulky Pokémon such as Bronzor. A Pokémon that can set up Stealth Rock is not essential, but is still preferred as Corphish could basically KO anything that has taken damage before an attack has been made. Corphish doesn't have the best Defense, so a spinner would also be nice.

[Optional Changes]

Choice Band sounds viable, but Corphish is so slow that it is highly likely to gives your opponent free turns. Besides, the Dragon Dance and Sword Dance sets are vastly superior to Choice Band.

A specially-based set sounds good, but it is walled by Munchlax, who will inevitably come in when the surprise is revealed. Payback is outclassed by Crunch, as Corphish can't be sitting around take a hit anyway. Protect is good for scouting, but has no place on Corphish's sets. Waterfall could be used in replace of Crabhammer, but it won't OHKO Munchlax ever, the same goes for Knock Off. A mixed sweeper set is also another viable option, as Corphish gets many good special attacks such as Ice Beam and Blizzard, Sludge Bomb, and a STAB Surf, attack and can be used with Superpower can be used too, as Corphish has a little extra defense to spare.

[Counters]

Croagunk is the best counter to Corphish, being able to switch in on Waterfall, and use Fake Out followed by Vacuum Wave for massive damage. However, it should beware of Return, as it OHKOs on the Dragon Dance and Sword Dance sets, and 2HKOs on the Choice Scarf and Double Dance sets.

The sets that need setup are stopped together by Croagunk and Dratini, while the Choice Scarf set requires prediction, and can be taken advantage of. Crabhammer is an entry hole for Croagunk, Return allows Gastly in to set up a Substitute, while Crunch and Rock Slide are setup fodder for Rock Polish Aron, while Brick Break is more Substitute Gastly bait. All of these Pokemon become dangerous if given a free turn, and thus, must be played around carefully. All of these Pokemon, as well as others, can easily set up on Corphish while you have to switch out.

Corphish hits 14 Speed with +Spe a Jolly nature unboosted, allowing it to outpace all un-Scarfed Pokemon in Little Cup after a Dragon Dance. Waterfall is for STAB, and Return provides solid neutral coverage. Crunch is what sets it apart from Krabby, as it hits Ghosts who switch in to a predicted Return [I'd just like to ask, what difference does Crunch actually make? Specifically, what does a super effective Crunch OHKO that a STAB +1 Waterfall won't? I would have thought it wouldn't make much difference on Gastly. If Corphish can OHKO Duskull/Drifloon, and Krabby can't, then make sure you say so]. After a single Dragon Dance, Corphish hits 25 Attack backed by a Life Orb and 21 Speed. With this raw power, Corphish destroys a lot of the metagame with its assortment of attacks. Gligar is OHKOed regardless of its set, which is a testament to how powerful Corphish can be if it is set up properly. Corphish can also OHKO Munchlax 29% of the time after one Dragon Dance.
Croagunk is the best counter to Corphish, being able to switch in on Waterfall with impunity, and use Fake Out followed by Vacuum Wave for massive damage. However, it should beware of Return as it OHKOs the Dragon Dance and Sword Dance sets, and 2HKOs the Choice Scarf and Double Dance sets. [This sentence makes literally no sense whatsoever]

The sets that need setup are stopped by Croagunk and Dratini, while the Choice Scarf set requires prediction, and can be taken advantage of when Corphish is locked on the wrong move. Crabhammer Waterfall is an entry hole for Croagunk, Return allows Gastly in to set up a Substitute, while Crunch and Rock Slide are setup fodder for Rock Polish Aron. All of these Pokemon become dangerous if given a free turn, and must be played around carefully. All of these Pokemon, as well as others, can easily set up on Corphish while you have to switch out.

Quite a few problems found, there are probably more but I can't quite seem to pin them down. I've also added a number of critiques where your reasoning is not very clear, and would like an explanation if possible.

[Overview]

Corphish is one of the most uncommon Pokemon in Little Cup. It has a good Attack stat, though its poor Speed stat is disappointing. Corphish also has a good Defense stat, along with an average HP stat, allowing it to take physical hits comfortably. All in all, Corphish is a rather average Pokemon, but it has a niche in the fast-paced Little Cup metagame: it has access to Crunch, which gives it an advantage over Krabby, as it can hit Ghost-types super effectively. Do not expect too much from Corphish, as Croagunk, the premier priority abuser of Little Cup, walks all over it.

ivs: 0 HP

[Set CommentsSET COMMENTS]

Corphish hits 14 Speed with a Jolly nature unboosted, allowing it to outpace all un-Scarfed Pokemon in Little Cup after a Dragon Dance. Waterfall is for STAB, and Return provides solid neutral coverage. Crunch is what sets it Corphish apart from Krabby, as it hits crushes Ghosts who switch in to a predicted Return. Also, without a single Dragon Dance, Corphsih Corphish can OHKO Duskull with a SE super effective Crunch, unlike Krabby's Crabhammer. After a single Dragon Dance, Corphish hits 25 Attack backed by a Life Orb and 21 Speed. With this raw power, Corphish destroys a lot of the metagame with its assortment of attacks. Gligar is ohkoOHKOed regardless of its set, which is a testament to how powerful Corphish can be if it is set up properly. Corphish can also OHKO Munchlax 29% of the time after one Dragon Dance with Waterfall. If Munchlax is hit with has taken prior damage from Stealth Rock, Corphish can easily 2HKO a weakened Munchlax. The thing that plagues Corphish the most, however, is priority; a Mild natured Croagunk with 188 spa SpA evEVs takes over half of Corphish's HP with Vacuum Wave.(backspace)

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Corphish can rip holes in your opponent's team once priority users and Choice Scarf Pokemon are out of the way. X-Scissor and Rock Slide sound great on this set, but Corphish just can't afford the moveslots, as all of the moves already on the set are very important. Brick Break is another option to deal extra damage to opponents such as Snover and Munchlax. Corphish appreciates Stealth Rock support for breaking Focus Sash and chipping away at the opponent's HP.

Corphish packs a few perks over Dragon Dance Barboach and Totodile; Barboach keels over to any sort of Grass-type attack, while Corphish has only a 2x weakness, reducing their impact, even though it won't matter most of the time, since Corphsih's spd Corphish's Special Defense is still fairly low. Corphish stars as a late-game sweeper, which is where we can compare it to Totodile. Against Totodile, Corphish has the benefit of a higher Attack stat, which enables it to do more damage, and as such is arguably more effective if all priority users and Choice Scarf Pokemon have been eliminated. As a bonus, it has Shell Armor over the other two, ensuring a critical hit won't prematurely end your Corphish's sweep.

Hidden Power Psychic Croagunk, Hidden Power Flying Mantyke, and Gligar are good partners as they destroy opposing Croagunk, which is Corphish's main check. In terms of support, Pineco is a good choice to Rapid Spin away entry hazards. You will also want a Pokemon who can set up entry hazards of your own. Pineco is good at this as well, as it can be used as a lead.

[SET]
name: Swords Dance
move 1: Swords Dance
move 2: Waterfall
move 3: Crunch
move 4: Return
item: Life Orb
ability: Shell Armor
nature: Jolly
evs: 196 Atk / 76 Def / 236 Spe
ivs: 0 HP

[Set Comments SET COMMENTS]

Corphish gets excellent coverage with Waterfall, Crunch, and Return. The 0 HP IV gives 19 HP, which means Corphish only takes 1 point of damage from the recoil of Life Orb. (move to AC) After a Swords Dance, Corphish reaches a mind-blowing Attack stat of 34. With proper support, this Corphish can rip apart teams. Once again, priority is a problem, but that is solved to an extent by Baton Passing it a Substitute. Waterfall, Crunch, and Return are the token attacks, and together, have excellent coverage in tandem with each other.(backspace)

Low Speed and a weakness to priority are this Corphish's main problems when attempting to obtain a sweep. Corphish's low Speed stat, while quite crippling can be fixed by proper team support. This set works extremely well against the rare stall teams, (comma) as they usually have slow Pokemon such as Munchlax and Bronzor, against whom Speed is not an issue. Corphish is able to set up on them and then do some sweeping. On the other hand, offense teams make Corphish cry. If Corphish manages to get a Swords Dance up, it usually scores only a single KO at most because of its terrible Speed. Another unfortunate piece of news is that very few people use stall teams in Little Cup, which means that it will be hard for Corphish to set up on anything.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

This is probably Corphish's most devastating set, but it definitely needs team support. Rapid Spin and Stealth Rock are helpful for minimizing damage to Corphish, and for breaking the enemy's Focus Sash. Sadly, Corphish is held back by its mediocre 14 Speed. This can be fixed by Baton Passing it a Substitute (this is optional, as but it gives it Corphish a safe Swords Dance behind the Substitute) and an Agility (giving it 28 Speed, enough to rip through teams at a blistering pace). Gligar is great at this, due to its access to Agility, Substitute, and Baton Pass. Aipom can also do this well.

Once again, Croagunk is a problem for weakened Corphish due to Fake Out and Vacuum Wave. Hidden Power Psychic Croagunk is a good partner to take out opposing Croagunk. While Corphsih Corphish looks like a poor man's Krabby, Corphish has a better (but nevertheless still poor) Special Defense stat, allowing it to take Croagunk's Vacuum Wave and other special moves slightly better. Also, it has Crunch, which deals more damage to Ghost-types than Waterfall. The Swords Dance set appreciates Stealth Rock and Rapid Spin support, however, it also needs some Baton Passed Speed (preferably from behind a Substitute) in order to sweep. Gligar is a good teammate for Swords Dance Corphish, since it can pass it Speed boosts and KO opposing Croagunk, Corphish's biggest threat. Here are some damage calculations to demonstrate Corphish's power:

Corphish Crunch vs. 196 (space) HP / 36 (space) Def Relaxed Duskull: 104.8% - 133.3% (100% chance of OHKO)

Corphish Crunch vs. 116 (space) HP / 8 (space) Def Drifloon: 140.7% - 170.4% (100% chance of OHKO)

Corphish Waterfall vs. 196 (space) HP / 36 (space) Def Relaxed Duskull: 76.2% - 100% (16% chance of OHKO)

Corphish Waterfall vs. 116 (space) HP / 8 (space) Def Drifloon: 103.7% - 125.9% (100% chance of OHKO)

(What are these damage calcs representing? A Swords Dance boosted attack, or simply a LO attack? That needs to be specified.)

[SET]
name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Waterfall
move 2: Crunch
move 3: Return
move 4: Brick Break / Rock Slide
item: Choice Scarf

[Set Comments SET COMMENTS]

Corphish reaches the magical number 14 in its Speed stat, allowing it to use a Choice Scarf effectively. This set doesn't pack as much power as the others, but it does has good revenge killing potential. This set can hit everything in Little Cup at least neutrally for at least neutral damage; as usual, Waterfall is a good STAB move, Crunch is a hard hitting coverage move, and Return pairs well with Waterfall. The last slot is a filler, where you can choose what bonus hits you want Corphish to achieve. Rock Slide coves Flying-types, while Brick Break covers Dark-types, and it also 2hkoing 2HKOes Snover. Superpower is an outside choice for hit-and-run tactics, but it is not recommended due to the difficulty of bringing Corphish in without suffering a lot of damage.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

This Corphish set needs Stealth Rock support to help revenge kill, due to its relatively low unboosted Attack stat. Again, Croagunk can do a lot of damage with Fake Out + Vacuum Wave, thus necessitating your own Croagunk with Hidden Power Psychic. However, unlike the Swords Dance set, this Corphish doesn't need Baton Passed Speed, freeing up a slot on your team. Mantyke is a good Croagunk check who can be placed in this slot.

[Team Options]

A good partner to pair with Corphish is Dratini; Dratini resists both of Corphish's weaknesses (Electric and Grass) while Corphish can switch into Ice type-attacks Ice-type attacks. Corphish also has good synergy with bulky Pokémon Pokemon, particularly such as Bronzor. A Pokémon Pokemon that can set up Stealth Rock is not essential, but is still preferred as Corphish could KO basically anything any opponent that has taken damage before an attack has been made. Corphish doesn't have particularly good bulk, so a spinner would also be nice to help improve its survival rate.

Be sure to add specific examples please. Don't just say "a spinner is nice", provide examples.

[Optional Changes]

Slapping a Choice Band on Corphish sounds viable, but Corphish is so slow that it essentially gives your opponent free turns. Besides, the Dragon Dance and Swords Dance sets are vastly superior to Choice Band.

A specially-based set sounds good, but it is walled by Munchlax, who will inevitably come in when the surprise is revealed. Payback is outclassed by Crunch, as Corphish can't take a hit anyway. Protect is good for scouting, but has no place on Corphish's sets. Superpower is another option, but the Attack drops are unwelcome. A mixed sweeper set is also a viable option, since Corphish gets many good special attacks, (comma) such as Ice Beam, Sludge Bomb, and STAB Surf.

[Counters]

Croagunk is the best counter to Corphish, being able to switch in on Waterfall with impunity, and use Fake Out followed by Vacuum Wave for massive damage. However, it should beware of Return as it gets ohkoed OHKOed by the Dragon Dance and Sword Dance sets, and 2hkoed 2HKOed by the Choice Scarf set.(backspace)

I hate to say it, but this is going to require a third GP check, especially for prose work. I had to mostly focus on picking up typoes and grammar errors in this one.

why are there are so many random, floating sentences? O_O
