XVIcaliber vs. Darkamber8828 - Darkamber Wins!

It was a bright and sunny days on the internetz, and everyone was having fun when the standard noises of tears, tantrums and trolls was interrupted by a shout:

XVIcaliber said:
Alright, time to send out my first challenge.

2 vs. 2 Singles
DQ Time: 3 days
2 Recovers, 5 Chills
Arena: Unova's Victory Road
-What seems to be a craggy and desolate holed mountain at first sight is actually the site of a timeless and ongoing war between Durant and Heatmor. The terrain scales upwards at a drastic angle, making uphill combat incredibly difficult, if not impossible, by most Pokemon. Platforms have been built, spanning long distances, above the crevices in the mountain, for the ease of those traversing the insides, hoping to reach the Pokemon League. Durants do not take gratuitous violence lightly, and Heatmors do not take aggression against their main food source lightly, either.-

tl;dr Durants could get pissed if you dig into their homes too much, Heatmors could get pissed if you harm the Durants too much. It's a vicious circle of death, fire, and more fire.
Either to shut him up, or because he actually wanted to battle, someone else hollered from a not-so-distant place:

And so we got our game.It is 2v2 singles, and if you touch anything then Satan and all of his hordes of Zubat will come down on you like a herd of rampaging Tauros. So, XVIcaliber, PM me a couple of Pokemon and release them, Darkamber releases and gives instructions, and finally XVIcaliber can give some instructions. Off with it, then.

Alright, let's keep things short and sweet. And fast. Slashe, it's all you.

That's quite a bug you got there. No problem, though, right, Slashe?

Alright. First off, I want you to catch it off guard with Fake Out. Then, while you have a moment, use Double Team, and make four clones. That should shake it up a little. Finally, go for an Aerial Ace to get some damage on the board. Remember, you clearly have the speed advantage here. It's only appropriate to abuse it.

So, Fake Out ~ Double Team (4) ~ Aerial Ace

And so just after the denizens of the internets thought they had some peace and quiet after the hollering about a battle, the shouts come up again as the contestants start yelling orders to their Pokemon. Obediant as always, Slashe starts off the match with a Fake Out, moving its hands (?) so quickly as to create a pressure wave, which hits Flooffy, surprising it, and causing it to flinch because of the unexpected pressure.

Then, Slashe moves in, not stopping after the Fake Out attack, and moves so quickly that no one can see where he is. In fact, it looks like there are four clones around the field. He has used the Double Team technique to confuse Heracross, in an attempt to dodge the oncoming Megahorn! Heracross, however, is readying the attack and his horn is glowing white, but suddenly seems confused. He can only aim his Megahorn attack at on thing, and so he chooses one and runs at it with all his might, but just as he gets to it it dissolves into nothing, and in fact all of them do but the one just next to the one he went for! He runs off to the side under the force of his own momentum, but finally regains himself and faces Slashe, who is now revealed.

Finally, Slashe moves in to attack and uses Aerial Ace at an almost blinding speed, and strikes before anyone really knows anything about it, knocking Heracross back many feet. However, Heracross wheels around, and rushes up close to Slashe and engages it in Close Combat! It pummels Slashe like nothing else, and after a series of blows lands one final hit to knock it to the other side of the stadium. Slashe slowly rises to his feet, but that last attack took a lot out of it, and it looks very shaky going into next round.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So we left off last round with Heracross finally getting his hands on Sneasel in spectacular fashion, beating the hell out of it and ending the round. However, this round it will be responding to XVIcaliber's orders, so surely there can't be much hope for Slashe? Anyway, in an attempt to dodge another killer blow from Close Combat, Slashe starts dashing around the cave so quickly the eye can't really keep up. However, Flooffy uses Aerial Ace to move fast enough to keep up with and take control of Slashe's Double Team attack, and delivers a blow just as Slashe turns, knocking him to the ground.

However, Slashe gets up quickly. It looks slightly intimidated by Heracross's attacks, but tries to get in an attack to take advantage of Heracross' lower defences after that last blow. He runs up and uses Aerial Ace back, hitting Heracross very hard, but not quite hard enough to prevent him attacking back. He jumps up towards Slashe again, and delivers one more devastating Close Combat attack at Slashe, and this time when the final blow is struck, Slashe flies over one of the ledges and falls down, completely unconscious. XVIcaliber calls it back to its Pokeball, and stops to consider his next move.

First, throw up a Sandstorm. Then, a Stealth Rock. Finally, go for a Heavy Slam. That bug has so many defense drops, it's not even funny. This should take it out no problem. Don't worry about its attacks, you have high enough defense to have absolutely no worries.

And so XVIcaliber releases a brick wall to try to compete with the pain machine that Fooffy the Heracross is proving to be. Heracross again leads off the round with another of its deadly Close Combat attacks. It hurts Onix, but Ouroboros retains peace of mind enough to simply start off a huge Sandstorm. Sand from around Victory Road's floor starts whipping up around everyone, stinging Heracross and boosting Onix's bulk even more, if that is possible.

In responce, Heracross again leaps up close to Ouroboros and attacks him at close range. These Close Combat attacks are beginning to dent Onix, but Heracross is beginning to look quite tired by the energy being used to keep up with all of this movement necessary for his attacks, and because of this his defences are being destroyed. However, Ouroboros is looking quite calm and just setting up Stealth Rocks around the place, ready to attack anyone who switches in for Darkamber. They fit in with all of the rocks around the route, but Heracross seems to just ignore them and keep focussing on doing as much damage to Onix as it can.

And so, to finish the round, Heracross uses yet another Close Combat against Onix, and this time Onix is pushed back slightly by the force of the now desperate blows. Heracross finishes up by delivering another major blow and jumping back a way, but Onix follows and bears down on him like a Heavy Bomber, doing huge damages as Heracross can't defend itself very well after it left its defences open using Close Combat. Flooffy is knocked down, but struggles back up to its feet, ready for another round of frantically trying to get the opposing wall down.

So with the arena (finally) up to XVIcaliber's and Ouroboros' needs, it looks like Ouroboros is going completely on the offensive. It is facing Heracross, looking dangerous, but Heracross seems to be losing energy fast by just flinging itself at his opponents, so Darkamber seems to be trying a new tack. Flooffy, unlike previous rounds, is simply standing there, Leering at Ouroboros. However, it seems to be doing something to Ouroboros, who looks like he is so distracted by the leer that he is neglecting his defences a little. however, it does not stop him barrelling towards Heracross, bouncing with a Heavy Slam into the little bug, and squashing him into a nearby wall.

However, Heracross takes advantage of the proximity to strike in Close Combat again from point-blank range, knocking back Onix quite a way with the final blow, but again exhausting itself so much that its defences are lowered. However, Onix makes use of the increased distance to create momentum on the way to Heracross, culminating on another Heavy Slam into the bug. It is really taking a beating out there, and this time it is thrown away by the force of the blast to the opposite side of this section of the cave. However, all this pounding looks like it is beginning to wake up the Durants, and it looks like much more pounding will bring them out!

Heracross, perhaps sensing this, again stops and just Leers at Ouroboros, making Onix shift uncomfortably again and lowering its guard. Onix, however, jumps up again regardless and rushes towards Heracross, and delivers one more Heavy Slam into Heracross. This knocks him back again, but he is still fighting. But suddenly there is action over the other side of the cave, just as it looked like the round was over! Durants are pouring out of their holes after being angered by the force of the huge rock monster throwing his weight around. They move towards the two fighters, and wait at the side to see what is happening. They look quite dangerous, and in fact any more annoyances maybe more than they can stand! This leaves the Pokemon very even and both almost out cold, leading us into a very interesting next round!

We left Heracross and Onix both hanging on by a thread, and Hercaross in particular looks completely out of it, like it can hardly stand. It goes first, but rather than just attacking, it lets off one final Leer attack to lower Onix's defences once more before Onix finally takes it out once and for all. The Heavy Bomber attack easily takes out Heracross, but it looks like Onix has been using the attack for so long that it takes so much energy that it can't quite muster the effort to keep going. It passes out at exactly the same time as Heracross across the field, leaving us with no Pokemon left on the field! However, Darkamber has one more Pokemon left in reserve, so Darkamber is the Winner! It is a shame to win like this, but rules are rules, I'm afraid. You should come and post in the policy review thread to change it ;) But anyway, gg and wp everyone, especially Darkamber. I'll put the prizes below, and just because I know how slack this ending is, I'll give the KO counters to Heracross and Onix. You're welcome.
