Shogun the Aron has issued a challenge to 'Kid the Elekid!

(I'm challenging Kannon from IRC)

Arena:

A sandy rock quarry, with steep walls and a narrow entrance which is blocked. The "arena" is circular, approximately 50 feet wide, and the trainers are standing opposite each other. The Pokemon start out about 10 feet apart from one another in the center of the arena. In addition to that, there is a 1/3 chance every turn for a Sandstorm to be kicked up by the wind, which will last for that round.

Recovers are irrelevant, as neither Pokemon knows a recovery move, and 5 chills.
DQ Time: 2 days (but that's unlikely to be an issue)

Okay, GL HF!

I'll just unleash both of your Pokemon because I can.

GO SHOGUN AND 'KID!

SO WHILE KANNON IS GONE I'M GOING TO TYPE SOME RANDOM CRAP.

Once upon a time, some poor miners were traveling to a mineral mine to gain some riches. Those miners were SDS and Kannon. As they were walking across the path to the mine, they saw something... interesting. It was something that could have changed their lives forever! A shiny golden nugget worth millions and millions of cash! Once they made their way there for the grab, the ground started shaking violently and lo behold the ground collapsed to the deep depths of the earth, taking poor SDS and Kannon with them! They grunted upon landing... and then collapsed onto the ground from the incredible impact...

Some time later, it appears that both miners have awaken, stuck under this sandy rock quarry of doom. There seems to be no escape... a perfect place for an unexpected Deathmatch. Seeing its dustiness, sandstorms may occur at times to choke the miners into uncomfortableness. So what's left to do? Beat each other up! Take each other's money, clothes, and most of all, FLESH! And then the chosen one will climb out to their freedom and claim their just award for victory! Who will that person be? We shall see...

SHEESH WHAT IS GOING ON

Okay Aron, let's start things off right. Dig underground, then while you're underground, start an Earthquake! Finally, come up from your Dig and hit that kid from below!

Round 1: Thunderstone

'Kid. Shogun. Who's the better one? Is it the electrical, idiotic looking thing or the stone, 4 legged rock thing? WE SHALL SEE.

'Kid starts off with an energetic Double Team and clones himself once in anticipation of a Dig attack. And he's correct, as Shogun does indeed start Digging himself in this cold, sandy haven of hell. But... he's not attacking!

Having no clue what to do, 'Kid runs around like he's on fire or something! He's Cross Chopping here and there with his fellow clone in an attempt to hunt down Shogun. Suddenly, the arena starts shaking violently... this has to be the works of Shogun's Earthquake! Rocks from above can be seen falling into the arena, creating hazards and debris everywhere! After the shaking has stopped, it can clearly be said that 'Kid took an enormous beating - he got smashed by an incoming boulder! His other clone? Crushed to crisps.

... Seconds later, it seems that 'Kid has picked up his spirits and chopped the boulder into pieces. Just as he's dusting off his hands and legs, though, Shogun pops up right in front of his and delivers an incredible blow to his face! This can only be the works of a Dig attack! A little before the impact, though, it seems like 'Kid was able to create a single clone of Double Team! Did Shogun hit the wrong one? ... No, the real 'Kid was hit and there he is, crying in pain from the attack! Ouch ouch ouch... (and the other clone disappears in silence...)

So far, it seems like the intelligence of Shogun has obliterated 'Kid. Will this continue?

Shogun
A1: Dig > [6 Energy]
A2: Earthquake > 10 + (4-1 x 1.5) x 1.5 = [22 Damage] | 7+3 due to extended dig = [10 Energy]
A3: Dig > 8 + (4-1 x 1.5) x 1.5 = [19 Damage] [6 Energy]

'Kid
A1: Double Team > [4 Energy]
A2: Cross Chop > wasn't actually used though I made it seem like it was
A3: Double Team > [4 Energy]

I went and subbed for Double Team at the times of Dig, so that's what happened.

SDS's turn!

christ, i need to remember my battles better

Well, now that we're on the offensive, I think it's time to get things rolling again. Dig if he chooses to Cross Chop, but go with Earthquake if he decides to do anything else. Then go for an Earthquake (from underground if Dig was used last action), and finally, finish things off with a powerful Head Smash!

man cross chop isn't going to work he is too wily for us 'Kid, we'll have to try another tactic
oh wait
Low Kick - Low Kick - Low Kick

Round 1: Dead Kid?

Now smartened up (by a little), 'Kid goes charging through all the hazards and, carefully, delivers a lightning-fast Low Kick that sweeps right onto Shogun's lower body. Shogun grunts a bit from the attack, but he pulls off an Earthquake just in time, which causes even more random crap to drop from the air and break down the old hazards to create new hazards while making 'Kid bang his head on a few!

Despite being on the ground as a result of the earthquake, 'Kid immediately jumps right back up and slides right under Shogun's place to smash him with a Low Kick! This didn't impress Shogun at all - it just made him cause another trembling Earthquake! It roars in its wake and thrashes 'Kid about, this time smashing 'Kid on the ground with a rolling boulder! Shogun's lucky none of this stuff have to happen to him.

Now really really really angry, 'Kid, smashes the boulder off him with immerse strength and gives Shogun another splendid Low Kick because his trainer is either too unintelligent or that's all 'Kid knows. This one actually lifted Shogun up in the air, but only for a small period of time. Shogun rolls back into formation and charges into Shogun for a terrifying Head Smash assault! BAM! 'Kid's flying through the arena with a mighty force and smacks his entire body onto the dirt wall. Then he's sliding down slowly... slowly... and crumples onto the ground like leafs, fainted!

'Kid was just too weak. And now we know who the real miner is! Kannon's reward is to stay in the depths for all of eternity! SDS's? Freedom!
