Charizard (Placeholder)

[Overview]

- base 100 speed allows it to outspeed a large amount of Ubers
- released DW ability, Solar Power, lets it hit incredibly hard in the sun
- to put it into perspective, Charizard's Fire Blast in the sun does more damage than Victini's V-create (also in the sun)
- immunity to Ground attacks
- very frail by Uber standards
- extremely reliant on weather and a spinner

[SET]
name: Special Attacker
move 1: Fire Blast
move 2: Focus Blast
move 3: Air Slash
move 4: Hidden Power Ice / hidden Power Grass
item: Choice Specs / Expert Belt
nature: Timid
evs: 252 SpA / 4 Def / 252 Spe

- Choice Specs for massive power, Expert Belt for the ability to switch attacks
- Outspeeds many Ubers, including Rayquaza
- Focus Blast can 2HKO Blissey
- Can trick people into thinking you're the "standard Charizard noob" :)
- Groudon has excellent synergy, and nullifies the Water weakness
- Forretress can lay down hazards, and more importantly, spin away Stealth Rock
- Overheat is an option, if you plan to always switch in and out, but Fire Blast is more consistent
- SolarBeam allows for a powerful Grass attack, but beware Kyogre

- Can trick people into thinking you're the "standard Charizard noob" :)

Nice. ;)

Since Charizard hits so ridiculously hard in the sun anyway, not counting Drought's boost to his Fire attacks, I think a scarf set is viable. Even more so given Charizard's frailty and the fact that its losing (10 or 12.5%?) of its HP every turn, it needs to be able to avoid taking any and all hits to really be a force in the uber metagame.

Although probably not the best idea perhaps leftovers should be slashed in with a set, seeing as you're already getting the equivalent of a specs boost without the use of an item slot, but it could help offset some of the Solar Power damage.

Charizard also shares a lot of teammates with Ho-oh. It is effortlessly dispatched by Rock Arceus, Zekrom, Palkia, Kyogre, and the like. Groudon easily checks if not counters the former two, whilst the latter two can be checked/countered by Palkia/Grass Arceus, respectively.

Oh, and obviously, Forretress. Maybe even max-bulk Espeon with Magic Bounce. It can set up Dual Screens too so that Charizard might be able to take the odd hit and keep going for a little bit longer.

Yeah, I completely agree with the Scarf set. I suppose he can do with all the speed he can possibly get. Not so sure about Lefties though tbh, since, while it does grant slightly more survivability, he's STILL losing health every turn, and he'd give up another x1.5 boost.

i think you really should mention spin support especially for a choice set, being able to switch in once is normally not useful for a choice user

Average speed, decent special attack, awful Stealth Rock weakness.

Why use this when you can use Ho-Oh or Reshiram?
