oops hi the rules:
3v3 triples
No moves that require an external water source (as per arena description)
3 day DQ time for players, 7 day DQ time for ref (but I will start pestering after 3 days)
Arena: Jungle Bash

A jungle-themed arena. There's no external water source for moves like Surf, but everything else is allowed (including weather, Dig and Earthquake).

At the end of each round, 5 items will spawn. Each item has a 70% chance of being a stone box, a 10% chance of being a TNT box, a 10% chance of being a Nitro box and a 10% chance of being a Wumpa fruit. The effects are as follows:
  • Stone box: Can be picked up and thrown at opponents. This is treated as a charge-up attack that costs 7 energy and can be disrupted by multi-hit moves. Picking up the box has a priority of 1 and throwing it has a priority of -1. If successful, the box does 25 damage to the target. Alternatively, the box can be kicked into opponents (takes an action and 5 energy). This will do 10 damage to the target.
  • TNT box: This can be picked up and thrown in the same way as the stone box, except it costs 8 energy and does 50 damage to the target and, if the throw is disrupted by a multi-hit move, the TNT box explodes and the holder takes 30 damage. Unlike the stone box, kicking the TNT box will make it explode and deal 30 damage to the kicker.
  • Nitro box: Just avoid these. Touching them in any way will do 30 damage to the pokemon. Of course, you can try pushing your opponents into a Nitro box.
  • Wumpa fruit: Can be picked up (takes an action and 6 energy) and eaten (takes another action and another 6 energy). The pokemon restores 25 HP and 10 energy and the last status effect it acquired is removed.

At the end of each round, one of the Pokemon's stats (Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, Speed, Accuracy, Evasion) will be boosted by two (2) stages and another will be reduced by one (1) stage. danmantincan bashes first, then objection crashes, then i smash. let's get bashing!

Actually, since I decided on this arena (and therefore send out first), I think I need to decide the positioning of my pokemon. Here's how I'll do it:

Left: Ratcliffe the Prinplup
Center: Gaston the Machoke
Right: Oogie Boogie the Dusclops

I don't think positions should really be given, since this is ASB and the should be able to freely run around and target who they want. But since that seems to be the way we are doing it (just going to give from the same perspective of Objection, so Left will be across from Left);
Left: Shinon
Middle: Oliver
Right: Volug

Shinon, start with 2 Psychics on Machoke.
Oliver, hit Machoke with 2 Zen Headbutts. If Zen Headbutt is Disabled, use Chip Away instead (for the second action).
Volug, use Hypnosis on Machoke, then follow up with a Toxic on Dusclops. If you are Taunted for the last action, use Fire Spin to trap Machoke.

Well, this does not look good.

Ratcliffe, begin with Water Sport, followed by Yawning at Shinon.
Gaston, go for a DynamicPunch on Oliver followed by a Light Screen.
Oogie Boogie, Taunt Volug and then Toxic Volug.

let's do the jungle bash, featuring lots of testosterone.

volug starts us off by using his hypnotic powers on gaston, putting him into a light sleep. shinon follows up with a mental attack of his own; a psychic! ratcliffe thinks it's a sport and splashes water all around his team. gaston just enjoys his snooze, and that man oogie boogie taunts volug. after an age oliver finally gets up and zen headbutts gaston, who's looking bleary-eyed now.

volug starts again, but this time traps the still sort-of-sleeping gaston in a fire spin, and shinon once again warps gaston's mind with psychic. ratcliffe seems to be bored and yawns at volug, who in turn yawns. gaston snaps out of his snooze and sets up a light screen, which i never even knew it could learn; oogie boogie sticks to being devious and toxics volug. oliver once again takes his time but zen headbutts gaston again.

suddenly, four stone boxes and a wumpa fruit fall from nowhere onto the arena.

objection's up.

All right then.

Ratcliffe, use Dig on Shinon twice. If, however, Shinon tries to throw a stone box at anyone, use Fury Attack on Shinon instead to disrupt it.
Gaston, it looks like you're going down early, so just DynamicPunch Oliver twice. If DynamicPunch gets disabled, change your second action to Revenge on Oliver.
Oogie Boogie, first throw a stone box at Oliver and then use Will-O-Wisp on Oliver.

Shinon, do as much damage as you can before falling asleep, hit them all with a Water Spout. If you happen to be able to attack again this round, hit Prinplup with an Acid Spray.

Oliver, let's turn on Dusclops (since you can't touch the digging Prinplup), and hit it with a Zen Headbutt followed by an Ice Beam.

Volug, I want you to Throw a Stone Box at Machoke. Then Throw another Stone Box at Dusclops. If Machoke is still alive at the second action, throw the second box at him as well.

the beginning of round 2 sees both volug and oogie boogie rush over to grab a stone box, no doubt planning some mischief. shinon, sensing sleep is coming, fires off a water spout, doing damage to all three of his foes, but it's lessened by the light screen. ratcliffe digs underground, and gaston smashes a dynamicpunch into oliver's skull, leaving him a bit dazed. he shrugs off the confusion though and manages to zen headbutt oogie boogie, but it does pitiful damage to the defensive behemoth of a ghost. volug has finally got the stone box into a throwing position, and launches it at gaston, leaving him with a sliver of health, but the lack of concentration has made the fire spin dissipate. oogie boogie too throws a stone box, but his target is oliver, and it hits for excellent damage. ratcliffe pops up from underground right beneath shinon for some damage just before he falls into a light sleep.

volug grabs another stone box and gets it ready for launching, while gaston launches another terrifying dynamicpunch at oliver, doing more excellent damage. oogie boogie keeps on the mischevious train of thought and summons a will-o-wisp that burns oliver, the poor gluttonous sod. he tries to retaliate but gets a tad confused and hurts himself. volug throws the stone box at gaston, which knocks him out, and ratcliffe pops up from beneath shinon again.

more items drop down, and this time we have three stone boxes and two tnt boxes to add to the four existing stone boxes and the lone wumpa fruit.

objection can you let me know whether the stone boxes are supposed to break upon use or not in your orders post please, and it's danmantincan's turn to give orders.

Okey dokey smokey.

Shinon: Rock Blast (Prinplup)~Throw Box/Psychic (Prinplup)
If Prinplup targets Shinon with Fury Attack A2, use Psychic instead.

Oliver: Zen Heabutt (Prinplup)~Thunderbolt (Prinplup)
Target Dusclops instead if Prinplup Digs.

Volug: Dig (Dusclops)~Throw Box (Dusclops)

Well, now that Ratcliffe and Oogie Boogie are the last two pokemon standing, they move to the center so they can each attack all three
opponents I believe, so ...

Also, yes, the stone boxes are meant to break upon being thrown or if the throw is disrupted by a multi-hit move. Bear in mind that I said the actual throw has -1 priority. Same with TNT boxes.

Ratcliffe, Waterfall Volug and then throw a TNT box at Shinon.
Oogie Boogie, Will-o-Wisp Shinon and then throw a TNT box at Volug.

here we are for round 3 of the bash, and volug immediately digs underground. shinon blasts rocks at ratcliffe, hitting five times! what luck. ratcliffe charges up to hit volug with the power of a waterfall, but he's nowhere to be seen. oogie boogie summons another will-o-wisp, this time burning shinon. oliver plods over to ratcliffe and smashes him with a zen headbutt, and volug pops out from underground to do some damage to oogie boogie. and by some i mean next to none.

suddenly everyone wants a box of their own, and everyone but oliver rushes over to get one; oliver chooses to just fry ratcliffe with a thunderbolt since he's too lazy to move. then the box flinging begins. volug throws a stone box at oogie boogie, and shinon does the same at ratcliffe. ratcliffe and oogie boogie are both grinning though because they throw tnt boxes, dealing massive damage in giant fiery explosions to both volug and shinon.

four more stone boxes drop down, alongside a nitro box.

Oogie Boogie, ThunderPunch Shinon and then ThunderPunch Oliver. If however you have less than 30 HP by your second action, change your second action to Pain Split Oliver

Oliver, start by Throwing a Stone Box at Dusclops. Finish by Picking Up and Eating a Wumpa Fruit (It's ability Pick Up, should let it pick up without an action).

welcome back to this match which is winding down to a conclusion. volug and oliver rush (well, volug does anyway) over to grab a stone box each, preparing for assault. shinon enters ratcliffe's mind and blasts it with psychic energy, knocking him back and onto a nitro box which explodes, dealing massive damage to ratcliffe and leaving him on not very much health. ratcliffe then promptly digs underground, and oogie boogie smashes a fist crackling with electricity into shinon; a thunderpunch! it's also knocked shinon out cold. volug and oliver are reading and waiting for revenge though, and both throw a stone box at oogie boogie, dealing exactly enough damage to knock him out too! how exciting. ratcliffe pops out of the ground and smacks into volug, but as soon as volug gets up he fires an energy ball at ratcliffe, knocking him out and earning danmantincan the win!
