TEAM SPORK
I built this team around being able to man-handle a lot of physical attackers and also having a few builds that are unexpected, which often land surprise KOs on important pokemon. I have never done an RMT before and I know this team should be tweaked, so here goes.
Jirachi @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 Spd
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- U-turn
- Body Slam
- Iron Head
- Wish
Good ol' Rachi. Never know what you're gonna get when you see one on an opposing team. This jirachi is just fantastic at soaking up special attackers bar heatran, ninetales, and other fire attackers of the like. I don't get as much use out of Wish as I would want to, seeing as how my opponent always switches to a counter after i switch in Jirachi. However, one of jirachi's goals is to try and body slam the switch in, a lot of the time a landorus, a wish can be done succesfully if they are already paralyzed and you don't get unlucky when using iron head on the second turn. U-turn is good for scouting and breaking heatran's air balloon on the switch. Always a good tornadus switch in, provided they don't have u-turn, and also latios doesn't have shit on this little guy.
Mew@ Leftovers
Trait: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Will-O-Wisp
- Psychic
- Roost
- Taunt
Jirachi's partner in crime, mew is another pokemon where opponents aren't sure what they're in for. This mew can switch in with ease on most non SE attacks and counter with a will-o-wisp before roosting. tyranitars and scizors hoping to rack up some damage get burned and are majorly set back for the rest of the game, leaving latios some more room to breathe. taunt is great for ferrothorn, forretress, and for not letting sweepers set up too much. most can get off one boost due to Mews unboosted speed, but proper prediction will make sure one boost isn't a problem. I chose psychic as my only attack as it's STAB and can take out the ever annoying brelooms, tentacruels, terrakions, and can get good neutral damage on those that dont resist it.
Breloom(M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Mach Punch
- Spore
- Bullet Seed
- Stone Edge
This is a set that I have been playing around with with some good effect. choice band bullet seeds will mess up any pokemon that doesnt 4x resist it. Gliscors always eager to switch in get close to being OHKO and are now immediately on the defensive. Stone edge will OHKO tornadus-t on the switch in, but still takes a lot of damage from bullet seed if it decides to land more than a couple hits. Mach punch will get surprise OHKOs on heatran and terrakion, and helps with lategame sweeping if he manages to survive. Spore is something i don't use often as most opponents expect the spore first move and try and sac a weather inducer which can be OHKO'd anyways. I have enough coverage though, so for now it stays.
Latios (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 SDef
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Psyshock
- Trick
Scarf latios is the MVP of this team. I can't tell you how many surprise OHKOs it has racked up from throwing out a draco meteor on boosted dragonites/mences, full HP tornadus/landorus, and other fast and somewhat frail pokemon of the like. The ever-so-common ferro on a rain team can be subdued for the rest of the match with trick, same goes for blissey, and also annoying bulky waters such as jellicent later in the game when scarf isn't needed.
Heatran (F) @ Air Balloon
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Earth Power
- Lava Plume
- Stealth Rock
Offensive heatran seems to fit best on this team, and his typing also fits in well. I have one pokemon to absorb stab attacks on both sun and rain teams. Rocks is on this heatran since Donphan was replaced, and heatran causes so many switches, it's often easy to get up rocks when opponents see i'm balloon'd and expect a powerful attack to come their way. Heatran is still heatran, so this set is pretty self explanatory.
Gastrodon (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Earth Power
- Ice Beam
- Toxic
- Recover
Suggested as a replacement for Donphan, Gastrodon adds better defensive synergy and helps rain teams majorly. STAB rain boosted water attacks and 100% accuracy thunders both have nothing against this guy. He also gives this team the option to toxic stall out a self pokemon that might give me trouble late-game if my pokemon don't have enough oomph to take it down.
In closing, this team will be a complete bitch to fight when you have good prediction. Most of what winning a match is against a good opponent is the mindgames of trying to get that super effective attack or whathaveyou. I am mainly posting this team so i can get some constructive criticism on it, so please, throw some ideas at me!
