Cyclohm started the round with -3, but it should end with 0 and not -2.

Out of curiosity, where is it coded that lack of energy means that the move fails? I have seen it being reffed in different ways (working as a last resort attack, dealing proportional damage and just failing) and I was wondering if it got coded somewhere.

Actually I don't know where it's coded (of if it is), but it's general consensus that if a Pokemon can't pay the base energy cost of a combination it fails, but if it can [but doesn't have enough for the entire combo] it uses the combo and then faints.
