2 V 2
Singles
DQ: Three Days
2 Recover Moves / 5 Chills
Arena: Clover Fields

A beautiful outdoor plain that is laden with bright green clovers. The air is fresh and clean, and is a good spot for trainers to take in the sights and sounds of nature! Since this is an all natural environment, it only makes sense that the Pokemon in the battle are also of the environment too! Therefore, only Grass, Bug, Water, and Ground types are allowed. (NOTE: If your Pokemon has one out of two of its typings as one of these, that's allowed too!) The ground is soft and pliable, which allows for Dig and seismic-based Ground moves. There is a brook nearby, which gives access to water for certain attacks, but not enough for full powered Surf attacks. Wild Happiny, Chansey, and Blissey can be found on the arena, but are simply just there to observe, not to interfere.

SUMMARY: Only Grass, Bug, Water, and Ground Pokemon are allowed. Dig and seismic attacks are allowed. Small brook allows water attacks, but not Surf. Happiny / Chansey / Blissey spectate the match, but do not interfere.

Let's get this show on the road then, shall we? Let's give our team a blazing start to this battle.

I choose you, Willow the Embirch! Put on your Battle Armor and get out there!

An embirch eh? Looks like I don't have much of a choice. Go, Helios, the larvesta! Show off that Flame Body of yours to deter any grass attacks Willow is thinking about using!

Ok, let's start this battle strong. Lead with a String Shot to bind Willow's body so it can't move. Once you've got a strong hold on Willow, use the silky threads like a sling shot to catapult yourself towards Willow and fire off a direct Zen Headbutt. Finally, finish it off with a powerful Fire Blast, hopefully catching some string on fire to deal some extra damage.

Okay, Willow, this is your first match, but you have all the tools to carry out this round wisely!

First off, we want to minimize the damage you take this round while crippling Helios quickly. String Shot is probably going to prevent your movement for a bit in terms of getting up close and delivering Physical attacks, but you don't have to worry about that. On the first turn, create a Substitute (15 HP) to not only tank the upcoming Zen Headbutt hit, but to completely avoid massive Fire Blast damage (Zen Headbutt won't break the Substitute). On the second turn, use Leech Seed to start leeching the life from Helios while restoring the HP used to make that Substitute. You're a Fire type yourself, so the roots your produce should easily go into any Fire-based defenses (in case Flame Body were to prohibit this for some miraculous reason). Finally, finish off the round with a powerful Flamethrower to nail his weak Special Defense for huge damage!

So:
Substitute (15 HP) -> Leech Seed -> Flamethrower

We see a bug, I think Helios is his name, crawling into a field looking rather angry and seems to be seeking a fight. He really shouldn't be, it's a beautiful day out and the field he's on is covered with clovers and flowers. Over to the side is a nice brook with an Embirch called Willow basking in the sun--it seems as though Helios has found a fight! He charges straight at Willow and fires a sticky string shot at him! Thankfully for Willow, the distance of the shot and difficulty of doing it while charging gave him enough free space to create a Substitute of himself. Helios tries to break the sub by Zen Headbutting it, which only gives Willow enough time to throw some Leech Seeds at the fire moth, the heat of his body halves the time leech seed will last. Helios, getting desperate, leans back and hits the substitute with a Fire Blast that melts the obstacle to the ground with Willow jumping through the flames and hitting Helios with a Flamethrower. Grass is starting to burn, which won't do much but make the watching Pokemon sad :(

Yeah! What a great start, my little Willow! Let's take advantage of this match-up then, shall we?

Start off with a powerful Flamethrower! This thing took massive damage the last time we fired this off, so throw another one at it! Then, take in some of the fresh air and sunlight with a Growth! Become big and strong to intimidate the larva bug. Finish off the round with another Flamethrower!

So:

Flamethrower -> Growth -> Flamethrower

Hmmm, that didn't go so well, but looks like Willow's still tangled up, so let's take advantage of this moment for some offense.
Start out with a Fire Blast, hopefully burning off these pesky seeds in the process. From there, let's prepare ourselves for his next powerful move by using Morning Sun to heal off some damage. Finally, one more Fire Blast to score a big hit.
Fire Blast - Morning Sun - Fire Blast

As we look upon the burning battlefield, both Fire-types are eager to continue beating the living crap out of each-other with the flames coming from their various body parts! Helios takes advantage of the reduced speed he gave Willow and starts the round with a Fire Blast aimed directly at Willow. After being repeatedly targeted, the binding string finally falls apart in Willow's hands who responds with a Flamethrower, hoping to burn the bug to a crisp. Both parties, dismayed that this battle may take more time to finish than did the grassy field decide to turn their focus on themselves. Both Pokemon take in the morning sun which heals Helios and gives Willow some Growth. Feeling refreshed, both Pokemon shoot flames at their opponent, one in the form of a blast, one in the form of a stream. The watching Blissey/Chansey/Happiny moves towards the stream so they don't get burned :(

Alright Helios, nice job letting out that damage last round. Lead with another Fire Blast, burning that Willow to a crisp. You should be faster, blast him before he has a chance to react. If Willow decides to be crafty and set up a substitute on his first move, go ahead and use Morning Sun. If he doesn't, go ahead and Fire Blast him again! We need to deal as much damage as possible. Finish it off with one last Fire Blast, put all your strength into it so Willow won't be getting back up!

Fire Blast - Fire Blast/ Morning Sun (If sub) - Fire Blast

All right Willow, let's take advantage of Helios' commands and set up some damage and a good opportunity for you to score some damage.

First, start off with another one of your signature Flamethrowers to get good damage with your boosted Special Attack. From there, put up an 18 HP Substitute so that you can tank the next Fire Blast without having your Substitute removed. Then, finish off with Leech Seed to heal off some damage for a few turns!

So:

Flamethrower -> 18 HP Substitute -> Leech Seed

As the flames are spread by the constant blasts of fire coming from our two combatants, we are begged to remember that only water-types can stop forest fires caused by fire-types. It's not like either Pokemon care about that as Helios fires off a Fire Blast and Willow a Flamethrower, spreading the fire even more! Both Pokemon then decide to take another mid-round pause to the carnage as the morning sun heals Helios a bit and Willow hides behind a Substitute to protect him from harm. Willow's plans form exactly as they were envisioned as the sub is able to take a Fire Blast and keep standing, though it does have a few holes now, and allows Willow to fire off a Leech Seed unharmed.

All right, you'll be getting a free turn this round, and he can't use Morning Sun anymore, so no more healing. Let's get serious and nail this sucker.

First, straight up Flamethrower him while you're under a Substitute. Then, follow with an Earth Power! If it uses Magnet Rise, punish it with a nasty Fire Spin to trap it in not only a vortex of Fire Spin, but a small circle of burning clovers too! Finally, finish up with one last Flamethrower!

So:
Flamethrower -> Earth Power -> Flamethrower
OR IF MAGNET RISE ON EARTH POWER
Flamethrower -> Fire Spin -> Flamethrower

Just wondering, when does Willow's stat boosts go away?
Anyway, on to the battle:
Alright, looks like he's going on the offense, so we got to as well. That sub has a mere 1 hp left, so lets start by getting rid of it. Let's not waste too much energy, so lead with an Ember to destroy the sub and burn off these pesky seeds on your body. From there, time do just dish out the damage. Use Fire Blast to score some damage, then finish it with another Fire Blast!

Ember - Fire Blast - Fire Blast

As Helios watches his previous attempt at burning Willow's substitute down end in failure he cringes as he finishes it off with an Ember. This only lets Willow continue her game and Flamethrowers Helios, forcing him back. The match picks up its tempo as Helios responds to the flamethrower with a Fire Blast, but is thrown into the air from the ground as we see Willow deep in thought, triggering an Earth Power! By this point, Helios knows his time is up as he is burnt to a crisp just after firing one final Fire Blast at the exhausted Willow.

Come back Helios, you've done your part.
Let's go, Ryuu, the Horsea! Show off you're sniper ability to aim for you're opponent's weak points!

I was hoping to send you out when his Willow was dead, but you can still take it on. Since there isn't enough water for a full powered surf, lead with a Scald, then finish it with a Bubble Beam! If williow is still standing, go ahead a just use Bubble to finish the job.

Hm...not much you can do here, Willow. Let's try and finish strong!

Start out with a powerful Giga Drain to heal off the damage done by Scald to a T. Then, use Pound on the second turn! If you somehow survive for the third turn, take it and chill.

Giga Drain -> Pound -> Chill

Good job Willow! You played a huge role so far, so let's keep up this momentum.

Go, Jacksaw the Scyther! You're the master Technician of the group, so use your skill wisely! As a side note, since you're a Flying type, you shouldn't be bothered by the flames and ashes on the ground - just make sure you're in the air for the match and attack quickly from above, and if you "need" to get some rest, land at the shallow brook.

There's no time to slack off this round. Start strong, and finish strong! No items in this match means we'll start this round with some dazzling Acrobatics! That should hit for huge damage. Next, follow that up with a Technician-boosted Wing Attack to keep adding on the pressure, and then finish it with some more Acrobatics!

So:
Acrobatics -> Wing Attack (Tech-boosted) -> Acrobatics

Alright Ryuu, take that Acrobatics and reply with a Disable. This will gain us a free turn. From there, use Agility, using that speedin order to dodge that Wing attack. If that makes contact, we can be in huge trouble, so try you're best to get out of the way. Finish it off with an Ice Beam! Aim directly for the wings, and thanks to your sniper ability, that shot shouldn't be that much trouble for you. Hopefully the icy coldness from the icebeam will cause that over sized bug to plummet to the ground, allowing the flames already there to do their work. Remember, you're best advantage is in that brook, so try to stay in there!

Disable - Agility - Ice Beam

Ryuu the Horsea enjoys his time swimming around in the little stream until the figure of Jacksaw enters his line of sight. Jacksaw already envisions and easy battle and steps towards Ryuu menacingly with a rather evil laugh until he suddenly flashes behind Ryuu and hits him in the back with a powerful Acrobatics. Ryuu understands the situation and Disables the attack from further use. Such antics are below the mighty Jacksaw who ignores the attack by Ryuu and dives into the water yet again hitting Ryuu, this time with a Wing Attack. The poor Horsea tries to evade the hit by using Agility, but Jacksaw was just too fast, at least now the race is much more even. Taking advantage of this newfound speed, Ryuu uses Ice Beam on Jacksaw who can only watch since Acrobatics was disabled. The hit is devastating as Jacksaw falls from the sky, it seems as though Ryuu's spectacular eyesight allowed him to hit Jacksaw's wings and force him to the ground... this Horsea might be able to put up a fight

Alright Ryuu, hang in there! Lead with an ice beam, aim directly for the face to hurt that incect's vision! From there, fire off a powerful Scald, aiming for the center of is body! We need the burn now more than ever. Hopefully the temperature shock will stun him for a while so you can finish it with an Ice Beam!. For the last ice beam, aim for the wings again if the ice happens to melt off, else continue to aim directly for the face! If at anytime that scyther decides to attack, utilize a Smoke Screen to dodge out of the way! (Do this only once, you don't want to be smoke screening the entire round)
Ice Beam - Scald - Ice Beam
(Replace one with Smoke Screen if opponents decides to attack)

All right, Ripjack, time to get a little tricky here. You hit the firely floor, so there's no Ice on your wings currently. Start off the round by using an Agility, to regain the Speed advantage and to try and dodge that first Ice Beam (although I understand if you can't do it, Ripjack).. On the second turn, set up a Double Team with three clones, which should also throw off any Ice (if any) left on your body. This should hopefully make the incoming Scald and Ice Beam miss, since there will be at least four targets on the field. Horsea will be too confused to see which one is the real you! Finish off the round with a Technician-boosted Wing Attack! You're faster, so that Smokescreen won't matter at all while you get its HP down to KO levels.

So:
Agility -> Double Team (3 Clones) -> Wing Attack (Tech-boosted)

After getting his pride minced to pieces, Jacksaw attempts to reclaim his superiority in speed by using Agility, leaving Ryuu an easy shot, for his sniping skills at least, and blasts an Ice Beam at Jacksaw. The hit did miss the face as Ryuu's distance from Jacksaw screwed up his timing of the shot. This disturbance in the force makes Jacksaw plays things safely and brings hax on his side in the form of three clones thanks to Double Team. The three Scyther's leave Ryuu going for coverage rather than accuracy and attempts to use Scald to hit all the clones at once! Unfortunately for him, the water from the stream was too lacking to power such a shot and only one clone was hit. Soon after the boiling water splashed, Ryuu blinked his eyes and was immediately hit by two Wing Attacks from the clones, his immediate reaction was to blindly Smokescreen the arena and luckily, both clones were covered in black!
