Athenodoros VS. Ginganinja!

3v3 Triples
2 Day DQ
One Recover etc. / Unlimited Chills
No items
All abilities
There are no real restrictions on moves, but there will be rain on every day except Wednesdays (determined by what day the ref refs) unless the players choose something different, and there are Gyarados in the lake. If the players disturb the Red Gyarados in the middle he will use Dragon Rage against everyone. It is also surrounded by trees, which Pokemon can hide in or use for whatever they want. You could even set them on fire :)

Triple battles are a rare occasion in the world of ASB, and this one is sure to be made more interesting by the fact that each combatant has a Dragonair, in addition to very different accompanying Pokemon! How will this affect the outcome of the battle? The Challenger, Ginganinja, has the first move.... Let's find out-- now!

kk lets get started.

Azure: Dragon Pulse~Dragon Pulse (all on Nidhogg)

Lee: Force Palm~Drain Punch(all on Lapras)

Shadow: Leer (affects all opponents)~Foul Play Marshtomp

Athenodoros

Official Smogon Know-It-All
Okay then, this should be fun (for the three rounds until it ends :))

Typhon: You Ice Beam Azure until she has passed out. Then use rain-boosted STAB Hydro Pumps on Lee. If by some miracle Lee faints too, give the same Hydro Pump treatment to Shadow.

Nidhogg: You Dragon Pulse Azure until she passes out. Then, Dragon Pulse Lee until the end of the round or until he passes at, at which point Dragon Pulse Shadow.

Poseidon: You use Avalanche against Azure until she passes out, then Waterfall against Lee. If Lee passes out, use Waterfall against Shadow.

@Banryu, do pokemon have set positions (like a normal tripple battle which discourages "ganging up" or not?

Athenodoros

Official Smogon Know-It-All
Okay, then. I'll put Typhon in the middle, because I'm sure I can choose. Then (although it is basically the same anyway, I did know about the two actions):

Nidhogg: Dragon Pulse against Azure twice. If it has fainted, use Dragon Pulse against whoever is in the centre on ginga's team.

Typhon: Ice Beam against Azure twice. If it has fainted, Hydro Pump against whoever is in the middle.

Poseidon: Just give off a couple of rain-boosted Surfs until the end of the round against Lapras and ginga's two Pokemon you can touch.

"Welcome one and all to Johto's famous Lake of Rage! Among the most popular fishing spots in the entire Pokemon world, it is today the sight of a rousing and unusual Triple Battle between official smogon knowitall Athenodoros, and well-known romanticist Ginganinja! ((I can change these per request)) Athenodoros has a strong lineup of sturdy blue brawlers that's gonna be tough to overcome, but ginganinja releases his young Pokemon without fear! Let the battle begin! Athen's Dragonair, Nidhogg, leads the charge by blasting a powerful Dragon Pulse at Ginga's Dragonair, Azure! It's a powerful blow, however the slower-but-stronger Azure strikes back with a Dragon Pulse of her own! While these two dragons are locked in a winding serpential dance of death, Ginga's Riolu, simply nicknamed Lee, takes the opportunity to dive in and attack Typhon the Lapras with a quick strike of his Force Palm! It's a surprisingly powerful strike from such a small Pokemon, but it's clear that Typhon can take plenty more of these. Ignoring Lee for now, he decides to assist Nidhogg in his struggle against the opposing Dragonair, striking it with a mighty Ice Beam that chill's Azure's blood! A harsh blow! Poseidon the Marshtomp follows up the attack by swamping Lee and Shadow the Nohface with water from the Lake in an overwhelming Surf attack! (Azure manages to avoid it somehow...?) Oh! The attack also struck Typhon, but rather than damaging him, he absorbs some of the water and uses it to heal! What a cunning and well-coordinated strategy on the part of Athenodoros! What does Ginganinja have to say to that? His attitude is apparent from the attack of Shadow, who Leers derisively at all three opposing Pokemon, lowering their defenses! Nidhogg and Typhon take only brief notice of this before firing off another Dragon Pulse and Ice Beam at Azure, who can only retaliate back at Nidhogg with another Dragon Pulse of her own in retaliation! Can she stand up to the repeated beating from two Pokemon using STAB supereffective monves, though?! Lee jumps to attack on behalf of his teammate, landing a mighty Drain Punch right in the neck of Typhon, who glares but otherwise takes no notice... Lee at least manages to drain some of Typhon's chi, healing himself with it. Like his teammates, Poseidon repeats his last move, drenching Lee and Shadow in a Surf attack once again! They're starting to look tired from the repeated beating as well now, and as before, Typhon uses the water to rehydrate himself! Eyes glittering, Shadow makes Poseidon the target of his Foul Play, exploiting the Marshtomp's strength and using it against him with the attack! It's a strong hit, but not strong enough to threaten him yet! As it stands, Athenodoros is currently in the lead; all Pokemon present are taking a beating, but none more so than Ginganinja's Dragonair, Azure! It'll take some strong tactics and teamwork to work them out of this hole, can it be done?! Athenodoros, the next move is yours!

Lol that round. Anyway, this time much the same thing happens. Typhon uses Hydro Pump twice, Nidhogg uses Dragon Pulse twice and Poseidon uses Surf twice.

Sorry about this. I thought that this would be much more even because I thought ginga would send out his older Pokemon.

:/

Nidhogg used Dragon Pulse @ Nohface (6+16 energy, 8=[9+3]x0.75)
Typhon used Hydro Pump @ Nohface (7+4 energy, 23=(12x1.5)+3+1.5)
Poseidon used Surf (6+16 energy, 7=[(15+3)x.075]/2 HP healed for Lapras, 18=(10x1.5)+3 damage on Nohface)
Shadow rolls over and dies, disappointed that his master is such a quitter.
(38 HP - 8 - 23 - 18 = KO)

:/
