Bonjour mes amis, et j'en suis avec Polaris le Smogogo, et...WEEZING WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEZE

Désolé, nous avons des incidents techniques. Votre émission sera maintenant en anglais.
BZZ WHEEEEEEEEEEZE BZZ

Hello? *cough* Can anyone hear me? Well, it would appear that when Weezing get colds, they sneeze as well. Only what comes out is a little more damaging to broadcast equipment (and lungs). Anyhow, we are here today off the coast of sunny sunny Blackpool, in the local ice floe, atop a rather large platform where two trainers seem to be preparing to pit their (limited) wits against each other in a contest of pokemon battling. A somewhat strange place to do it, but that isn't really the point.

I like this arena. I want to use it in a longer battle against Nightmare jigglypuff, but I'm making a couple of adjustments.

2v2 Singles
3-day DQ time
2 Recovery moves/5 Chills/2 Taunts/1 Teleport/No evolving mid-battle/Unevolved mons only

Arena: Tilt Panic
  • A 100-foot-wide circle made of ice balanced precariously on a 5-foot-wide pillar in the middle of a large ocean.
  • The arena will tilt based on where the pokemon are. Heavier pokemon will influence the tilt more than lighter ones.
  • NEW: Flying pokemon and Levitating pokemon will not affect the tilt unless they are on the ground.
  • NEW: The exception to this is if the weather conditions are heavy rain (such as when Rain Dance is used). In such conditions, the tilt will be completely random. The default conditions are clear weather.
  • Pokemon can try to push each other around and knock each other off the arena with their attacks. A pokemon that gets knocked off is considered KO'd. Stronger attacks have more pushing power and are more likely to knock a pokemon off. Heavier pokemon are harder to push and pokemon further from the edge are harder to knock off. The angle of the arena also affects the chance of a pokemon being knocked off.
  • NOTE: Although it is easier for Flying pokemon and Levitating pokemon to dodge attacks, they can still be knocked off the arena.
  • Every round there is a 50% chance of a Walrein jumping up from the water below and landing somewhere on the edge of the arena. It will not attack but its weight will affect the tilt of the arena for the duration of the round and then it will slide back into the water at the end of the round. A Walrein cannot appear on two consecutive rounds.
  • NEW: Surf, Dig, Earthquake and Magnitude cannot be used in this arena.

Also, a suggestion to whoever refs this: end-of-round diagrams will be helpful.

So that's: Will-o-Wisp - Scary Face - Scary Face/Swords Dance

Greetings ladies and gentlemen! We're here live for the first round of Objection versus Nightmare Jigglypuff atop the Tilt Panic arena. Objection starts things off with his Charmander Hades, and the lizard certainly doesn't seem happy with his trainer's chilly choice of arena. NJ releases a Gastly named Spork who seems much happier with scenic Blackpool. As the faster pokemon, Spork is able to start the round with a Confuse Ray, but not before a Walrein jumps onto the platform at around 270 degrees, tilting it slightly in NJ's favour. The slightly confused Hades uses a ghostly Will-O-Wisp on the spectral Spork, burning the Ghost-type. NJ then orders a Shadow Ball that strikes Hades and knocks him a little closer to Walrein. Hades, now having recovered from its confusion, uses a Scary Face to slow down Spork by two stages. Now the faster pokemon, Hades uses a Swords Dance to raise its Attack by two stages as Spork unleashes another murky ball at Hades to end the round, just as Wally the Walrein jumps back into the sea.

Hades was lightly confused by Confuse Ray which used 5 Energy.

Spork used two Shadow Balls which dealt 14 Damage each for 6 Energy each.
Hades used Scary Face for 6 Energy.
Hades used Swords Dance for 7 Energy.
Spork expended 4 extra energy for using two consecutive Shadow Balls.

Orange = Charmander
Purple = Gastly
Hollow Blue = Where Walrein was
Black = Arena's edge
Pale Blue = Ice
Dark Blue = Sea

But wait, is Gastly not smoke to begin with?
Well, no matter what, use Telekinesis to throw hades closer to the edge. then follow up with a Shadow Ball to move him even closer to the edge. if he's not down already, just Thunderbolt him.

Welcome back everybody.

Still the faster pokemon, Hades the Charmander starts things off by... coughing? He vomits up a cloud of black smoke that seems to take on a life of its own, heading straight for Spork's eyes, and it looks like his accuracy has been lowered! Spork then tries a Telekinesis to throw Hades backwards, but as we all know, Psychic attacks can't be used to throw pokemon around (yes NJ this means it won't work, ever, but the usual effects of the move stand), but Gastly isn't able to constantly maintain the field, so Hades is able to use a Flare Blitz on Spork, knocking the gas ball back considerably. Spork then uses a Shadow Ball that smacks into the defenseless lizard, critically hitting the poor pokemon. Now the faster pokemon, Spork uses a Thunderbolt on Hades, who finishes the round with a Fire Fang.

Ugh half 8 is too early to ref.

What's that you say about the fourth wall Polaris? No idea... Anyway, back in the spotlight is NJ's Gastly Spork, who releases a cloud of toxic venom, damaging Hades and poisoning the tortured fire type, but it appears Hades may have found a lifeline. He glows red, more venom in his eyes than the poison pokemon has seen in its life, as you guessed it, Charmander's Blaze ability activated. Hades covers himself in flames and charges at Spork, knocking him back a fair way. Gastly then summons a raincloud, but not the watery Kyogre style rain. This is a far more toxic blend, a deep purple downpour that seems to react with the poison in Hades' system, doing a huge amount of damage and knocking out Hades. Looks like Objection will have to recall it.

And we're back, with Objection recalling the fainted Charmander and replacing him with a new challenger approaches, Frollo the Meditite. Pleased to see a new opponent, Spork starts the proceedings with another Telekinesis, raising Meditite into the air in a similar fashion to Charmander. Just as the connection drops, Frollo continues to not move, relaxing his muscles and calming his mind. It appears to have raised both his special stats by 1. Spork then tries another menacing Smog attack, presumably hoping for a second poisoning, but to no avail, as Frollo stays detoxed for another action at least. He gathers a ball of electricity and spreads it around his arm, letting Spork know what he thinks of that strategy with a Thunderpunch. Spork tries another Smog, and he still doesn't get the poisoning he hopes for, as Frollo tries a similar trick to last time, this time with ice, launching an Ice Punch at Spork, and this attack does just enough to knock Spork out. A despondent NJ has to recall him.

And both trainers have fresh pokemon out on the field now, with Objection's Frollo having the distinct type advantage over NJ's Popeye. Before either pokemon can move however, a Walrein jumps onto the platform, landing on the North-East part, around 45 degrees. As Frollo also has the speed advantage, he is able to move first, glowing with a strange power as Popeye clutches his head, reeling from the pain of Frollo's confusion attack, and sliding backward a little in disorientation. Popeye is able to recover however, and charges at Frollo aided by bursts of water, knocking the Meditite up the slope a small amount. Frollo then balls his fists, whacking Popeye and draining half the damage. Popeye stays relatively stable however, tensing his muscles, increasing both his Attack and Defense by one. Frollo then rubs his hands together, creating sparks, before punching Popeye with a supereffective Thunderpunch, and this paralyses Popeye, who is fortunately still able to hit Frollo, ending the round with another Waterfall.

So we're nearing the end of this battle, and NJ's Privatyke looks a little worse for wear. Frollo starts off the round concentrating on Privatyke, anticipating his movements next action - he will not miss next time he attacks. Popeye uses a Waterfall attack, slamming into Frollo propelled by a jet of water. With a mindreader behind it, even Popeye's dodge (which makes ThunderPunch 110% accurate) cannot stop the hit from a crackling Frollo. Frollo uses another ThunderPunch, hitting Popeye as he tenses his muscles again, Bulking Up.

Objection, ever the innovator, continues his assault of ThunderPunch on Popeye, the first striking true as Popeye uses a chunk of ice dredged up from the deep when Walrein arrived as a pseudo-Rock Slide behind Frollo, nearly tilting the arena back to level. The second ThunderPunch too hits true as Popeye tries to respond with a Waterfall, but his paralysis takes hold and completely stops him from moving! Frollo uses a third and final ThunderPunch, and this one seems to have done the trick! Popeye shambles about on the edge of the arena before finally realising he both has no health and is falling rather rapidly, rendering his attempt to Waterfall himself back up useless. Fortunately for NJ, he seems at home in the water, a friendly Empoleon checking on him before jumping up and returning his fainted body to a despairing NJ.
