So Hariyama Right? Cool Pokemon, not so much usage, however Im starting to like its potential for D/P, with Guts, it can come into Blissey's T-wave, and make her cry.

I really want to try this set [its crazy like me]

Hariyama @ Lefties
Trait: Thick Fat
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
Ev's 252 Atk / 20 Speed/ some defences
- Belly Drum
- Pallete Punch
- In Fight
- ???

Bellydrum on the swich, Pallete punch them to hell. its a monster late game, with Jibba suport of course.

Hariyama is one of the most ridiculously underrated pokemon of all time, at least I think so... I fell in love with him in ADV, but he's really a situational kinda guy that doesn't go well with just any team.

The set I loved in DP was Substitute, Focus Punch, Rock Slide, Whirlwind @ Leftovers W/ Thick Fat. Loved him with spikes support.

Hariyama @ Leftovers
Guts

~ Cross Chop
~ Quick Revenge
~ Rest
~ Sleep Talk

Rest activates Guts. Cross Chop and Quick Revenge hits everything for neutral damage except Toxicroak and Heracross. Earthquake or Stone Edge instead of Quick Revenge hits less Pokemon for neutral.

The problem with Hariyama is that its defenses aren't good enough to take advantage of that excellent 144 base HP. If his defenses were better I would definitely use him.

Force Exert is interesting, it's basically a Fighting-type Body Slam, but with only 60 base power. I'd say it's better than Brick Break at least, probably outclassed by Cross Chop. I'm not too sure about In Fight, the defense drop really hurts when you have so little to begin with (it'd be like Blissey losing Defense EVs, and that really hurts). Then again, Pokemon is all about hitting on a switch then going out.

Hariyama has many, many cool options like Whirlwind, Counter, Knock Off, Rest/Sleep Talk and the shiny new Stone Edge. One of these BL Pokemon that uses the opponent's abudance of walls (read: Blissey) to strike hard with antistall potential. Rock resistance and Knock Off are probably the main assets.

Hariyama is so cool in SS teams with Knock Off. He can also Fake Out too, which is good to beat things with low HP/trying to use pinch berries.

Hariyama @ Choice Band
-Knock Off
-Fake Out
-Cross Chop
-Quick Revenge/Stone Edge

I think it'd be fun with some good wish support from Jirachi or something. Knock Off to remove opponent's items (like removing Life Orb or Lefties). Cross Chop for basic damage. QR since Hariyama is slow or Stone Edge to hit fliers. Fake Out to hit low HP stuff.

I'd much rather have Donphan or Gliscor doing Knock Off really, Hariyama's neat and all but he doesn't fill any holes that some other Pokemon fills better. 144 / 60 / 60 just isn't good enough really to take hits in the offensive nature of D/P.

Actually, what Hariyama lacks is speed. 144/60/60 defenses aren't subpar. They're just average.

Ooh, it owns CBTar hard. Earthquake does the most damage to it, and how often does CBTar plan to use EQ? It actually works unlike Machamp, who gets better counter attacks with 100% Cross Chop and Dynamic Punch. Actually Force Exert is a guarenteed 2HKO and In-Fight (meh) is a guarenteed OHKO from Min Atk.

Hariyama @ Leftovers
Impish/Adamant Nature *252 HP, 4 ATK, 252 DEF*
-Force Exert
-Knock Off
-Counter
-Stone Edge
Probably one of the best sets. Force Exert for TTar. Counter kills Heracross or Gyarados. Knock Off is annoying. Stone Edge is filler. I like it, but I don't see it being common.

Hariyama is probably the best Blissey counter in the game. Blissey has to be careful of Thunder Waving it because it could activate Guts, and Ice Beam probably won't do much even if Hariyama lacks Thick Fat.

Rest/Sleep Talk/Cross Chop/Stone Edge with Guts seems appealing.

Huh, doesnt sleep not activate guts? @_@ Did DP change this? Are you guys planning on coding this into Competitor?

In Netbattle, Sleep activated Guts in ADV, so, unless Netbattle was coded incorrectly (which wouldn't surprise me), Sleep activates Guts.

I love it when Misty agrees with my set. :] Seems like I'm improving in moveset creation.

The only way this is going to withstand anything is by pouring EVs into Defense and HP (so it can resist roc/bug/dark moves), keeping Guts. With Thick Fat you're screwed because you can't hit anything hard any more. Defensive EVs+Sleep Talk+Guts is your best bet, but seriously, this thing cannot defend well at all and it's not fast. Slow+mediocre defenses is bad combination.

EV-wise I would just ignore HP, pick a defense (special is handy for anti-Blissey, while defense will give you a Tyranitar counter), and increase that with attack. You could also just ignore attack altogether and just boost both defenses, but lots of attack with a Guts boost gives you a chance of beating Skarmory.

Hahahaha I just thought of something. With trick room support, Belly Drum, In-Fight, Faint Attack, Rock slide sweeps teams by itself, especially if it's statused.

EDIT: Trick room only lasts 5 turns...how gay ¬¬

@Flame orb
<Guts>
252 HP, 252 ATK, Adamant
Fake out
Infight
Pallette punch
Hurl

1. Fake out, become burned
2. Survive hit with massive HP, infight for a KO, or close to it.
3. Pallette punch to kill whoever has the balls to survive the Infight
4. Hurl to burn if needed.

Raped by Gyarados, Hera, and the usual counters, but what isn't these days?

Wow, I love Fake Out, Guts, and Toxic/Flame orb.
Knock off or Whirlwind over Hurl would probably hurt their team more. Actually, knock off WILL hurt their team more so you should go with that.

Something a bit funny, Knock Off with Guts does about 90 damage to Gengar out of his ~300 life. Now that's a man's way to knock an item off, damnit.

EDIT: Crazylazy, you would be wrong about that. Please read the D/P new items descriptions. The Orbs stay on you forever.

In all the play videos I have seen, the orbs were not consumed upon activation.
I think that's why Milotic@flame orb with Rest is so gay.

You still take a bunch of damage... Flame Orb should not be put on tankish Guts users, because the 12.5% damage and the loss of Leftovers will ruin you in the long run. The only Pokemon I'd consider Flame Orb on is a Guts Swellow...

Slight revision:
252 atk, 128 def, 128 sdef
@Toxic Orb
<guts>
Fake out
In-fight
Palette Punch
Knock-off/Whirlwind

Yea it is better to ignore HP. (I used that java app like a good boy)

2 turns of Toxic is less damage than 2 of burn right?

theres always the good ol' Bulk Up, for a poor's man curselax.

Also, Witch tier do YOU think Hariyama will end up in D/P?
