Twilight by Stephanie Meyer

This is my first ever review, so it might be crappy. :/

Twilight – Stephanie Meyer

Genre: Romance/Adventure/Thriller/Fantasy

This is one of the best books I have read in a while. It was very hard to put this book down really. This book has nearly everything, so imo, it doesn’t exactly have a Genre. It can be considered a fantasy because it’s a story about vampires. The narrator in the book falls in love with one of the vampires, who in turn loves the girl as well. The best part about the book is probably that the story doesn’t stick at one scene; it is a very fast-paced book.

The narrator Bella Swan is supposed to be a very ordinary-looking girl coming from a big town (Phoenix) to a country-side. She has some sort of an outer shell to her emotions which stops her from being free with people. She comes across a very “beautiful” guy (Edward Cullen) and almost instantly gets curious about him. Bella ends up falling in love with Edward who returns the love back…but they have their own troubles. Bella loves attracting troubles and Edward is nearly always there to save her; but Edward is a bit afraid to love her back because, well, he is a vampire. Edward thinks that he puts Bella in danger every time she comes close to him, but Bella on the other hand prefers death than being away from Edward. This chaotic relationship is the meat of the book.

Edward and his family are “good” vampires and they control themselves by hunting animals and drinking their blood. Bella is welcomed in their family and gets along with all of them. One day, however, some vampires from other regions arrive at the scene where Bella was enjoying her day with the Cullens, who get a desire to taste her blood. Bella goes into hiding and Edward and his family do all they can to protect her from those creatures.

I loved this book myself and I think whoever reads this, will do too. I am reading Part 2 of the same series (New Moon), which seems just as good. The only flaw I found in the book was that the characters sometimes over-reacted at some very simple situations. Other than that, it’s a book I will suggest everyone to read.
