Magmortar code!

I don't have PBR because it sucks ass compared to the two Stadiums.

Flamethrower is the only goddamn move worth using, possibly Solarbeam on a SD team. I had a novelty in-game Magmar in FR that knew Psychic. o_O

Modest is nice, though. It'd be nice if it came with a good IV spread so I can have my beloved super-Magbys in DP. :'D

Shouldnt you still buy it? Unless you dont have a Wii... the random online battles alone are worth the 59.99 lol. The graphics are also better(duh :P) but i also liked the statiums more, i still bought PBR though, and i dont regret it. Gona try this out in a sec, modest is good for the scarf set i guess :P.
 
Dangit! I really wish they would have released this last weekend when I was home. I have PBR, but I use my brother's Wii. IMO it was worth buying. I don't have an AR, so I can't get all the items I want, so this game was very helpful to me. I can also get 2 of everything on that game by using 2 DSs with my Diamond and Pearl in them while the Mystery Gift is distributing. Also, as said, the battles are way more fun on PBR than on DS Wifi.
 
Hmm...I'm looking foward to getting Magmortar, even though I'll just use it as a novelty and dex data. Magmortar got nerfed in the moveset department.

My Wi-Fi doesn't work for some reason. And I couldn't care less about graphics, but the BGM sounds way too goddamn happy for battle music. IMO, at least. I really don't play it much, and I still play the Stadiums from time to time. Once in a while, I enjoy playing ubers, but not when I end up pwning little 8 year olds and no one else who knows how to properly use them. I bet even my UU novelty teams could kick their ass. x_x

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I have it.
 
This is nice and all, but is there anything special about this? If you've got Fire Red, and Leaf Green, you can get Magmortar and Electivire just fine, no? Is this just an alternative way of getting these guys?

Random online battles are not worth it since there's no organization. You only get 3, ubers are allowed, etc. It sucks balls.

Rentals were fun to play pickup games with friends in Stadium, in PBR you not only have to unlock rentals, you still cant change their moves. And they suck.

Also, it was 39.99 at launch. Way to know your facts.
 
Well, you can softreset for decent IVs, and the natures are most, for the most part, desirable. Although a lot of people that put Focus Punch/Cross Chop on Mag will want to opt for a different nature than Modest.

I do wish Nintendo would have 'special PBR' with unique moves not found else where. Aside from surfing Pikachu, with his horrific set nature.

That's kind of what I was getting at... Unique moves would be cool, but it seems like if you've already got Leaf Green, this Magmortar doesn't do anything for you. You can catch a Magby, and utilizing X-act and Peterko's excellent breeding guide, you can set the nature (everstone) and breed for good IV's pretty well. With soft resetting, I assume IVs are completely random. With the breeding, at least you can nudge probability towards good IVs.

You could soft-reset for a magmortar with a 31 iv in sp. att, then breed for a good one. It would probably be faster then trying to catch a 31 iv.

Seconding. Once I train a team for the "Little Cup Stadium," it'll probably be good for some temporary lulz, but random battles have either been against guys with hacks (that I still beat easily), DCers, or use their rental passes via interweb.
I'm not in need of the items (not that it's logical to get them from PBR as they all cost more tickets than you can get after beating the entire game) and the only Poke worth its salt is Electivre (though you can make an argument for Pikachu, since it has Surf and Light Ball).
 
I've spent waaaaaaaaaay too much time double-battling our Asian friends every night so I guess you could say PBR hasn't been too bad to me at all.
