Now Hiring: A King for UU/BL [WARSTORY]

Age of Kings

of the Ash Legion
is a Forum Moderator Alumnus
(Note: I meant to wait a bit longer to post this thread, but meh. The suspense was killing me. >_> This is also probably my last warstory too, since I don't have too many interesting matches anymore. Happy Friday!)

Because there's a new queen. And it's me, rawrs! Ok, not really, I wish I were, though. xD But I know a good friend of mine who's in the running, though. A really good friend of mine. Read on the second episode of AoK's Pokemon Adventures into the Shoddy Wonderland World-BL Match Edition.

Rules: Evasion Clause, Freeze Clause, OHKO Clause, Sleep Clause, Species Clause
shedinjask sent out Cobalt (lvl 100 Crobat).
The Kiwi F-22 sent out 01:28 ALERT (lvl 100 Porygon2).
01:28 ALERT traced Cobalt's Inner Focus!
Method has entered the room.
Cobalt used Hypnosis.
01:28 ALERT fell asleep!
01:28 ALERT's Lum Berry cured its Sleep!
01:28 ALERT used Trick Room.
01:28 ALERT twisted the dimensions!

This is why I always, always use Lum Berry for leads. :'D Yum, yum, berry pie to start off the match.

01:28 ALERT used Thunderbolt.
It's super effective!
Cobalt lost 57% of its health.
Cobalt used Hypnosis.
01:28 ALERT fell asleep!
Cobalt's leftovers restored its health a little!
Cobalt restored 6% of its health.

Bah. I didn't switch in Hypno because many Crobats carry U-turn, so I stayed in to absorb the sleep to activate sleep clause. Trading away killing power for bulk, though, is a mixed blessing... >_>

01:28 ALERT is fast asleep!
Cobalt used U-turn.
01:28 ALERT lost 15% of its health.
shedinjask switched in Abyss (lvl 100 Absol).
Abyss is exerting its pressure!

Confirmed: Suspicion of U-turn. Objective: Shake off sleep. Target: Physical sweeper. Concern: Target has Rock Smash to reduce defense with SE attack. Course of action: Switch in heavy sweeper.

The Kiwi F-22 switched in I'm High on Fire's Drummer. (lvl 100 Marowak).
Abyss used Rock Smash.
A critical hit!
I'm High on Fire's Drummer. lost 28% of its health.
I'm High on Fire's Drummer.'s defence was lowered.

I'm really glad I dropped Rampardos for something that can actually switch in to things. Bad thing: I can't survive any of Absol's big attacks with -1 defense.

I'm High on Fire's Drummer. used Bonemerang.
Abyss lost 83% of its health.
Abyss lost 79% of its health.
shedinjask's Abyss fainted.
Hit 2 time(s)!
The twisted dimensions returned to normal!

Horrible, horrible move right there on my part. >_> Not only am I crazy enough to carry Bonemerang after it saved my ass from a particularily angry Sub-punching Kangaskhan mascot at Disneyland, I was willing to risk the poor accuracy for a botched mission. Oh, well. :'D

6-5 Me

shedinjask switched in Cobalt (lvl 100 Crobat).
Cobalt used U-turn.
I'm High on Fire's Drummer. lost 27% of its health.
shedinjask switched in Replica (lvl 100 Claydol).
I'm High on Fire's Drummer. used Stone Edge.
It's not very effective...
Replica lost 27% of its health.

Trick Room broke down, but I'm bold. I stay in for more hits if the situation allows it. Too bad Crobat took advantage of -1 defense for a bit of wearing-down damage...

The Kiwi F-22 switched in 01:28 ALERT (lvl 100 Porygon2).
01:28 ALERT traced Replica's Levitate!
Replica used Ice Beam.
01:28 ALERT lost 13% of its health.

Must shake off sleep.....at least Claydol can't use one of its STABs until I do, and with horrible attacking stats... :'D

shedinjask switched in Mongoose (lvl 100 Zangoose).
01:28 ALERT is fast asleep!

Unfortunately, sleep is a perfect opportunity for the opponent to set up....

Mongoose used Swords Dance.
Mongoose's attack was sharply raised.
01:28 ALERT is fast asleep!

....to turn me into sashimi, literally.

The Kiwi F-22 switched in CHOMPERZ (lvl 100 Steelix).
Mongoose used Close Combat.
It's super effective!
CHOMPERZ lost 88% of its health.
Mongoose's defence was lowered.
Mongoose's special defence was lowered.
Mongoose lost 10% of its health.

If you're one of those face-palmers who never think correctly during a panic attack and curse yourself for being an idiot after, you're not alone at all.

Mongoose used Close Combat.
It's super effective!
CHOMPERZ lost 91% of its health.
The Kiwi F-22's CHOMPERZ fainted.
Mongoose's defence was lowered.
Mongoose's special defence was lowered.
Mongoose lost 10% of its health.

Will Life Orb recoil save my ass again? It sure didn't for Steelix!

5-5 Tie

The Kiwi F-22 switched in Super Soaker 100! (lvl 100 Blastoise).
Mongoose used Quick Attack.
Super Soaker 100! lost 44% of its health.
Mongoose lost 10% of its health.
Super Soaker 100! used Haze.

Haze at work. Again. Forcing it to set up or switch, but I get a (small) hit either way.

Mongoose used Swords Dance.
Mongoose's attack was sharply raised.
Super Soaker 100! used Surf.
Mongoose lost 56% of its health.

Unfortunately, Haze also wiped away the -2 defense from Close Combat.

Mongoose used Close Combat.
Super Soaker 100! lost 82% of its health.
The Kiwi F-22's Super Soaker 100! fainted.
Mongoose's defence was lowered.
Mongoose's special defence was lowered.
Mongoose lost 10% of its health.

Dear lord, I'm such a bad player. ._.

5-4 Shedinjask

The Kiwi F-22 switched in donde las piernas? (lvl 100 Vespiquen).
donde las piernas? is exerting its pressure!
Mongoose used Quick Attack.
donde las piernas? lost 51% of its health.
Mongoose lost 10% of its health.
shedinjask's Mongoose fainted.
donde las piernas? used Attack Order.
But there was no target!

Mark me down as the cheapest abuser of Life Orb recoil ever. At least Attack Order would have killed it either way... ;D

4-4 Tie

shedinjask switched in Vulcan (lvl 100 Moltres).
Vulcan is exerting its pressure!
The Kiwi F-22 switched in tila tequila sucks. (lvl 100 Hypno).
Vulcan used Flamethrower.
tila tequila sucks. lost 48% of its health.

Stupid fire chicken. El Pollo Loco, anyone? And that Hypno always somewhat fails at taking hits. My standards are too high, 48% is a little much even from (presumaby) Specs Moltres to an 'all-purpose' special wall. Maybe it's just me.. xD

Vulcan used Flamethrower.
tila tequila sucks. lost 44% of its health.
tila tequila sucks. used Hypnosis.
Vulcan fell asleep!

Thank god Hypnosis decides to not hate me.

shedinjask: your spanish is terrible
The Kiwi F-22: I care how?
shedinjask: alright
shedinjask: but i get to laugh at it now

These were in response to Vespiquen's nickname. I now know it should be 'Donde estan sus piernas?' (Where are her legs?), courtesy of my sixth period Spanish class. These become important soon, believe me. And my computer doesn't do accents, for all those who do speak Spanish. =)

shedinjask switched in Cobalt (lvl 100 Crobat ?).
tila tequila sucks. used Wish.
tila tequila sucks. made a wish!

At least I got some healing in. But I wasn't going to dare staying in due to U-turn and being incredibly crippled....

shedinjask: if you're going to speak a language, learn it
The Kiwi F-22 switched in I'm High on Fire's Drummer. (lvl 100 Marowak).
Cobalt used U-turn.
I'm High on Fire's Drummer. lost 17% of its health.
shedinjask switched in Replica (lvl 100 Claydol).
The wish came true!
I'm High on Fire's Drummer. restored 50% of its health.

Steelix was dead, what else could I have switched in? xD At least it shrugged off the other weak hits...

The Kiwi F-22 switched in 01:28 ALERT (lvl 100 Porygon2).
01:28 ALERT traced Replica's Levitate!
Replica used Ice Beam.
01:28 ALERT lost 13% of its health.

Come on, wake up P-2. Claydol can't do anything to you. Want to me play "WE WILL WE WILL STEALTH ROCK YOU"? I hope it's loud enough.. D':

Replica used Ice Beam.
01:28 ALERT lost 14% of its health.
01:28 ALERT woke up!
01:28 ALERT used Recover.
01:28 ALERT restored 50% of its health.

But, aha! All that switching in and damage for nothing, Claydol! Take that!

shedinjask switched in Light (lvl 100 Lanturn).
01:28 ALERT used Ice Beam.
It's not very effective...
Light lost 7% of its health.

*headdesk*
I'm sorry I had to type that old thing, but when suddenly that completely walls you (specifically Bolt-Beam) comes in, you're going to get mad.

Light used Thunder Wave.
01:28 ALERT is paralysed! It may be unable to move!
01:28 ALERT used Trick Room.
01:28 ALERT twisted the dimensions!

Once upon a time, there was a status and a move. They worked perfectly together, until one day, a nasty person at Gamefreak decided to give the status a bad side effect. Now, they work shakily at best. The end.

The Kiwi F-22 switched in tila tequila sucks. (lvl 100 Hypno).
Light used Surf.
tila tequila sucks. lost 17% of its health.

Time to restore some health.

tila tequila sucks. used Wish.
tila tequila sucks. made a wish!
Light used Surf.
tila tequila sucks. lost 18% of its health.
The Kiwi F-22's tila tequila sucks. fainted.

Except that Hypno was way too crippled from Moltres. x_x Leftovers recovery is what kept it alive all this time, but at least Trick Room is already up and I have a nice healing move to boot.

4-3 Shedinjask

The Kiwi F-22 switched in I'm High on Fire's Drummer. (lvl 100 Marowak).
I'm High on Fire's Drummer. used Bonemerang.
It's super effective!
Light lost 97% of its health.
It's super effective!
Light lost 94% of its health.
shedinjask's Light fainted.
Hit 2 time(s)!
The wish came true!
I'm High on Fire's Drummer. restored 50% of its health.

I'm crazy, but it works in my favor once again. Healing overkill too!

3-3 Tie

shedinjask switched in Cobalt (lvl 100 Crobat).
shedinjask switched in Replica (lvl 100 Claydol).
I'm High on Fire's Drummer. used Stone Edge.
It's not very effective...
Replica lost 26% of its health.
The twisted dimensions returned to normal!

Hi, I'm AoK, and I'm relishing in my little moral victories. Please leave a message after the beep, and I will return your call after I gloat in my little self absorbed assholyness. Thanks!

The Kiwi F-22 switched in 01:28 ALERT (lvl 100 Porygon2).
01:28 ALERT traced Replica's Levitate!
Replica used Reflect.
A barrier was formed!

Reflect, ahh Reflect. Excuse me for a moment.

*breaks windows due to evil Jynx*

shedinjask switched in Vulcan (lvl 100 Moltres).
Vulcan is exerting its pressure!
01:28 ALERT used Trick Room.
01:28 ALERT twisted the dimensions!

At least, at least I got Trick Room in. If that thing wakes up, my ass is El Pollo Loco's. I had no reliable things left to take it on, anyway. I guess I'll stay in and slam it with Thunderbolts until it dies.

01:28 ALERT is paralysed! It can't move!
Vulcan is fast asleep!

zzz @ status lawls.

The Kiwi F-22 switched in I'm High on Fire's Drummer. (lvl 100 Marowak).
Vulcan is fast asleep!

I can't say I remembered Reflect. I can't say I wasn't praying for Stone Edge hax. Aha.

shedinjask switched in Replica (lvl 100 Claydol).
I'm High on Fire's Drummer. used Stone Edge.
It's not very effective...
Replica lost 15% of its health.

I really hate that piece of shit. It's getting on my nerves, comes in to make me run.

The Kiwi F-22 switched in 01:28 ALERT (lvl 100 Porygon2).
01:28 ALERT traced Replica's Levitate!
Replica used Ice Beam.
01:28 ALERT lost 13% of its health.
Replica's reflect wore off!
The twisted dimensions returned to normal!

Mixed blessings. Reflect, may it burn in hell, is down, but Trick Room is dead as well.

Replica used Ice Beam.
01:28 ALERT lost 14% of its health.
01:28 ALERT is paralysed! It can't move!

Paralysis is annoying. At least Claydol isn't deadly to P-2.

Replica used Ice Beam.
01:28 ALERT lost 13% of its health.
01:28 ALERT used Trick Room.
01:28 ALERT twisted the dimensions!

Good, at least I go first now. :'D

*snips* In what can be described as a semi-stall war, the next 9 turns involves P-2 switching between healing, being paralyzed, and Ice Beaming Claydol. Claydol becomes crippled after a couple of Ice Beams, and switches out. Trick Room also breaks down during this time.

shedinjask switched in Vulcan (lvl 100 Moltres).
Vulcan is exerting its pressure!
01:28 ALERT is paralysed! It can't move!

Nooo! This is the worst time, if that thing wakes up and I keep being paralyzed, I'm cooked by El Pollo Loco.

Vulcan is fast asleep!
01:28 ALERT used Recover.
01:28 ALERT restored 50% of its health.

Prepare for the assault!

Vulcan is fast asleep!
01:28 ALERT used Trick Room.
01:28 ALERT twisted the dimensions!

Line up your ranks and strategy!

01:28 ALERT is paralysed! It can't move!
Vulcan woke up!
Vulcan used Flamethrower.
01:28 ALERT lost 60% of its health.

....and let your worst fears come true. Die, soldier.

01:28 ALERT used Thunderbolt.
It's super effective!
Vulcan lost 56% of its health.
Vulcan used Flamethrower.
A critical hit!
01:28 ALERT lost 124% of its health.
The Kiwi F-22's 01:28 ALERT fainted.

56% is a nice hit, but is it enough? Will I survive long enough? Stay tuned to...*pokes thread title* Speaking of which, we interrupt this program to remind you that the employment application process is out the wind---to the doorway on the right. Yeah. Ha.

3-2 Shedinjask

The Kiwi F-22 switched in I'm High on Fire's Drummer. (lvl 100 Marowak).
shedinjask switched in Replica (lvl 100 Claydol).
I'm High on Fire's Drummer. used Swords Dance.
I'm High on Fire's Drummer.'s attack was sharply raised.

Trick Room was still up, now to teach that bitch Claydol!

I'm High on Fire's Drummer. used Double-edge.
Replica lost 130% of its health.
shedinjask's Replica fainted.
The twisted dimensions returned to normal!

Ladies and gentlemen, let me be recorded as the only Marowak user who has ever used Double Edge over Fire Punch. DE has actually proven to be more useful to me and this is one of the cases why.

2-2 Tie

The next few turns would decide the match. Trick Room is down, and I know which bastard is waiting in the wings. Now shoot me for my constant unintentional puns.

shedinjask switched in Vulcan (lvl 100 Moltres).
Vulcan is exerting its pressure!
Vulcan used Flamethrower.
I'm High on Fire's Drummer. lost 95% of its health.
I'm High on Fire's Drummer. used Double-edge.
Vulcan lost 145% of its health.
shedinjask's Vulcan fainted.

HOLY SHIT! I came up with Marowak's spread on the basis of nice, round even numbers, and right now, I praise myself for putting a couple of EV's into HP and SD. Since Moltres was sufficiently crippled and I had a Swords Dance, I opted not to risk Stone Edge's accuracy. Thank you Wish healing overkill.

2-1 Me

shedinjask switched in Cobalt (lvl 100 Crobat).
Cobalt used Cross Poison.
It's not very effective...
I'm High on Fire's Drummer. lost 13% of its health.
The Kiwi F-22's I'm High on Fire's Drummer. fainted.

Cross Poison? Did it have Aerial Ace? Maro served his job good and well, and my last Pokemon might, just might, have a chance.

1-1 Tie

The Kiwi F-22 switched in donde las piernas? (lvl 100 Vespiquen).
donde las piernas? is exerting its pressure!
Cobalt used Roost.
Cobalt restored 50% of its health.
donde las piernas? used Roost.
donde las piernas? restored 50% of its health.

Healing turn. You see, the Queen never got over her nickname being insulted. I let her anger, her rage run free.

Cobalt used Hypnosis.
donde las piernas? fell asleep!
donde las piernas? is fast asleep!

Damn! Damn!

*snip* Here again is another stall war. It's just assorted turns with Vespiquen sleeping, waking up, healing off Cross Poison damage, and Aerial Ace-ing Crobat. No crit or poison, yay!

Cobalt used U-turn.
It's not very effective...
donde las piernas? lost 9% of its health.
donde las piernas? used Aerial Ace.
Cobalt lost 32% of its health.

U-turn!? I record this for all generations to see. I want this to be burned into your brains forever. Pressure + nice defenses = beautiful. The Queen kicks ass, and I never ever want to see a comment ever again that she sucks/cannot defend/cannot stall. I record this for proof.

*snip* More stall war, with Crobat on the defensive, healing and using Hypnosis.

Cobalt used U-turn.
It's not very effective...
donde las piernas? lost 8% of its health.
donde las piernas? woke up!

donde las piernas? used Aerial Ace.
Cobalt lost 34% of its health.
shedinjask's Cobalt fainted.
The Kiwi F-22 wins!

1-0 Me

Props:
  • Vespiquen. For everything.
  • Porygon2, who as usual, ends up getting the job done.
  • Marowak, for surviving what I assume is a SpecsMoltres, and saving my ass in the process. My home-grown spread and Double-Edge saves the day. xD
  • Crobat, Moltres, and Claydol, for being asspains to me but doing nicely anyways.
  • Shedinjask, for a great match and playing brilliantly, pushing me into a corner more than once.
Slops:
  • Me, as usual, for making my usual stupid mistakes and relying on luck and Life Orb recoil to save my ass a second time.
  • Steelix, for doing nothing, not even setting up WE WILL WE WILL STEALTH ROCK YOU.
  • Paralysis. I will get my revenge one day.
  • The corporate censors and CIA, who decided to cut out all references to the brainwashing, MKUltra-like Girl Scouts and replacing them with El Pollo Loco.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to be thrown into federal prison for leaking out that information. D': Comment and enjoy this warstory, while I languish of malnutrition and scurvy, waiting for the Queen to reconquer her lost territory and free me. :'D

**Thanks to Aeolus for approving this warstory.**

That was a pretty cool warstory, but I'm kinda confused as to what happened at the end. I'd suspect that cycling Roost, Cross Poison, and Hypnosis would let Crobat beat Vespiquen if it tried.

Not really, I kept waking up, roosting, and Hypnosis also missed on occasion. Aerial Ace did about the same damage too. I got lucky. As usual. The entire stall war is boring to post, but if you'd like to see it, I'll post it here if I get a chance to do so on my upstairs computer. =)

i run double edge on my marowak too. it is just better for my strategy.
High-five! I'm glad there's someone else who uses it. :'D I really don't see why it needs Fire Punch, it shouldn't be switching in to Grass or Ice types anyways, and Steels and Bugs are already taken care of. Bah, it's up to preference.

I don't think I've run into anyone ever using Vespiquen before, even in UU. The 4x Stealth Rock weak kind of hurts it, but you seem to be able to use it effectively. Anyway, quite an entertaining match. Lanturn is such an annoying pokemon in UU, paralysis and confuse hax and boltbeam resistance and so much hp. Thank goodness it has no recovery move or else it would be insane.

That's what Blastoise, Steelix, and Maro are there for. Blastose compliments it perfectly, spinning away SR and killing off most of the usual SR set-ups, while Vespiquen returns the favor by laughing at any Grass types. Steelix and Marowak kill off any Electric types, and even Hypno joins in the fun if they're special sweepers with a nasty Hidden Power. I'm perfectly prepared for it, and woe to anyone who shoves Uxie, Meganium and co. in my face. On HP Fire, it will shrug it off due to her high defenses and low offenses of the things she's supposed to switch in to. It's great on any team that can accomodate it well, and 4x to SR didn't hurt Yanmega. Except it's not supposed to be defensive like the Queen. Ha. xD

Thanks though, Lanturn is a douche. =( It's one of the few things that still Para-fusions these days, I've seen some.

I must say, your Warstories are among the best written!

A great battle, very interesting play choices, and great commentary!

Great story I really liked it <3 how awesome Marowak was in this battle. And props for the TR team. GJ and Congrats on getting the win :D

I must say, your Warstories are among the best written!

Why, thank you very, very much! =) Maybe this shouldn't be my last one ever....

Great story I really liked it <3 how awesome Marowak was in this battle. And props for the TR team. GJ and Congrats on getting the win :D

Thanks. =) Marowak screams for TR, I'm so glad it's BL this gen. There's a reason I recommend it for every Trick Room team that comes around that needs a nice heavy sweeper on the RMTs and several people have gone back to thank me on how well it's worked for them.

It SHOULDN'T be. Keep battling and keep writing :D
Alright, fine. :'D You got me. If only they allowed you to post 6-0 Peanut Gallery matches. ;_______; Oh well, I will anyways, if I do mange to have any nice ones. =) Thanks for the encouragement, guys.

Awesome battle and warstory Age of Kings. I have to say that Lum Berry on my Porygon2 has done wonders for my team. He's just been awesome although I must say that the other members of my team haven't been so great lately. :)

Haha, I loved this warstory. Its kind of logical to run DE on Maro in UUBL, since the major thing you want to hit with Fire Punch is Skarm, which isn't there in UUBL. Meganium might give it some trouble though.

Fire Punch is only for OU, where you would otherwise be walled easily by Bronzong/Skarmory. In BL, where those two aren't allowed, it makes perfect sense to run Double-Edge, which is better against Uxie, Mesprit, and Claydol, and Double-Edge OHKO's most Grass- types after a Swords Dance (with the possible exception of Meganium or Venosaur).

Nice warstory. =D
