Round 1: And Then They Started Breaking Stuff

Dokuto starts off the match, scattering some Toxic Spikes around the floor to harry the opponent’s switches. The Great Malboro fires a Leech Seed at Typhon, which latches onto his fur and begins sucking the life out of him. Hyperion decides to bring his opponents speed down to earth, and Thunder Waves The Great Malboro, who gets blasted with a Blizzard from a displeased Typhon, along with his partner Dokuto.

Hyperion Extremespeeds towards the venerable Malboro and slams him before he can react. Dokuto rushes towards Typhon and gives him the ol’ one-two stab with Twineedle, eliciting a grunt of pain. The Great Malboro slowly releases a Sleep Powder, dropping Hyperion in his tracks, and Typhon fires off a blazing Fire Blast…but his new parasite must have irritating him or something, because it sails wide and incinerates an innocent, purple-wearing bystander instead. His only pokemon out of his pokeball, a Golbat, howls in rage and Taunts him before escaping out of the window.

Dokuto sets up some more Toxic Spikes, as Malboro tries to aim another Leech Seed at the snoozing Hyperion…but he was fully paralyzed! Typhon sucks in air and spits out another Blizzard, which chills Dokuto to the bone, but blasts out of the window harmlessly instead of reaching Malboro and turning him into a clump of frozen noodles in boots.

Round 2: Blizzard Lizard

Dokuto once again stabs twice at the snoozing Hyperion with a Twineedle, who grunts in pain but snores on. Typhon joins him on the floor (no not like that), as The Great Malboro lets out another Sleep Powder.

Dokuto Protects against the waking Hyperion’s Thunder Wave, while Malboro can’t seem to move with his full paralysis!

The spiney cocoon changes courses and Steamrollers over Typhon, who blinks drowsiness from his eyes with the help of the percussive therapy. Hyperion launches a howling Blizzard at the Malboro and Dokuto, which freezes Dokuto to the floor! It sucks to be limbless. The Great Malboro tries to restore some of his maligned health with a Giga Drain, but things don’t seem to be going so well, as an unpleased Typhon Blizzards him yet again! Fortunately, the cruel winds spare the struggling Dokuto.

Round 3: A Song Of Fire And Ice

Dokuto sheaths the poisonous barbs on his spikes, Disabling Poison Point and making all poison Toxic! He grins in preparation for something…but is blasted back by a Blizzard from Hyperion, which whistles over his partner’s head but angers a trainer who was caught in the blast, who, severely pissed off, summons a Mantyke who uses Air Cutter . Satisfied with his revenge, he leaves. Malboro fires off a Leech Seed at Hyperion, who shrugs it off and Blizzards the pair again.

Dokuto tries to Poison Jab Typhon, but he can’t move around so well, since, y’know, he’s stuck to the floor. However, retracting his spikes allow him a bit of wiggle room, and he struggles free of the ice, no longer frozen! Hyperion takes advantage of his opponent’s temporary inability to move by Fire Blasting his partner, which KOs him! Jubilant at taking the lead, Typhon follows with a Fire Blast of his own.

Dokuto Twineedles Hyperion, stabbing vengefully with less toxic, but no less lethal points. Hyperion reels, but still blasts him point blank with another Blizzard. Typhon follows suit with a Blizzard of his own, but he misses entirely! Perhaps his subconscious didn’t want to hit his partner? The icy gale hits a trainer, who summons a Houndour that uses Will-O-Wisp on Munchlax. But it misses. Phew.

Round 4: Burning Determinations

Dokuto summons another Protect, the great wall of phlebotinum blocking Hyperion’s Fire Blast, as Persephone’s flame blasts a fireball at Typhon, which inflicts a second degree burn on Typhon’s head! Typhon’s winces in pain, but still Zen Headbutts the protected Dokuto, who doesn’t budge.

Dokuto goes on the offensive, Poison Jabbing Typhon with his venomous spikes, but Hyperion counters with a Dragon Pulse, spitting a blast of draconic energy at Dokuto, which impacts him squarely, exploding and sending the poor bug flying backwards, hitting a trainer, who sends out a Buizel, who Taunts him, as distressed as his trainer. Finished, they escape through a hole in the floor. Persephone, having graciously waited until the trainer left, blasts a Heat Wave at Typhon and Hyperion, who shrug it off with their resistances to fire. Indeed, it seems Typhon is looking to improve his resistances, as he experiences Amnesia, which somehow sharply raises his Special Defense. Somehow. Don’t question it.

Spines extended once more, Dokuto stabs at Hyperion with a Poison Jab. who responds with a Fire Blast, point blank. Persephone launches another Will-O-Wisp at Hyperion, crispifying him and inflicting a second degree burn on Dratini’s head! Typhon, slightly befuddled due to his loss of memory, nonetheless Zen Headbutts Dokuto, KO’ing him!

Round 5: Shocking Consequences

Cyndi begins the round, setting up a shining Light Screen, reducing the damage of special attacks on her team! Unfortunately, this doesn’t protect her partner, Persephone, from being paralyzed by a Thunder Wave from Hyperion. Damn. Persephone amplifies her Hex with the pain of Hyperion’s burn, inflicting a powerful curse on her. Karma’d. Typhon retaliates for his partner with a humongous Thunder attack…but it missed, hitting a very trainer instead, who died.

Cyndi summons stored electricity from her fur and strikes Typhon with a wicked Thunderbolt. Typhon doesn’t look so good! Hyperion fires a Dragon Pulse at Persephone, who returns with a ghostly Shadow Ball. Typhon follows with a Zen Headbutt, panting heavily.

Cyndi doesn’t let up, hitting Typhon with a powerful Charge Beam that raises her special attack! Cyndi isn’t going to get a free boost, though, Hyperion slows her down some with a Thunder Wave! Persephone strikes with another Hex, which KOs him! Typhon, heart thirsting for vengeance…just faints, having run out of energy!

Looks like Cyndi gets the KO!

Well, this is an abrupt turn of events!

Round 6: Cavalry

Vulcan stared dumbly at her trainer's orders, she just can't recall the correct move! Cyndi strikes back, paralyzing the flaming bearded pig with a Thunder Wave, but Atlas moves in while she's distracted and clamps onto Persephone's face with a Bite. None too happy about this turn of events, Persephone forces him off by roasing his face with a Will-O-Wisp, inflicting a second-degree burn!

Cyndi, once again the speediest fighter in the whole arena, fires off a Thunderbolt at the suddenly slowed Vulcan. Atlas, while sympathetic to her partner's plight, ploughs on, aiming a deadly Toxic at his other opponent, Persephone. The very poisonous fumes inflict deadly poison on the poor fire ghost soul-sucking candle! She's not out of the fight though, cooking Atlas again with a humongous Fire Blast. Vulcan struggles to move, but is fully paralyzed!

The fluffy stuff on Cyndi's body crackling with more stored energy, Cyndi lets out another Thunder Wave, paralyzing Atlas as well! Persephone zips away from the vicious plantasaur and Hexes him hatefully, but Atlas Bites again, tearing into her cursed waxy body with gusto!

And Vulcan fails again.
