[Overview]

While Cherubi may not be the best Chlorophyll sweeper in Little Cup it has a niche that only it can claim: the combination of better overall bulk, Chlorophyll, Growth, and Weather Ball. The fact that it has a impressive base 62 Special Attack makes sweeping seem even easier. However, Cherubi is widely outclassed by many other Chlorophyll sweepers, such as Bellsprout and Petilil. It also lacks important Grass-type moves including Sleep Powder. Still, with the ability to outspeed plenty of foes under the sun, boost quickly, and cover a wide range of foes, Cherubi can become a dangerous sweeper who will be hard to stop.

[SET]
name: Chlorophyll Sweeper
move 1: Growth
move 2: SolarBeam
move 3: Weather Ball
move 4: Hidden Power Rock
item: Eviolite / Oran Berry
ability: Chlorophyll
nature: Modest / Timid
evs: 80 Def / 180 SpA / 240 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Under the sun, Cherubi can be a excellent special sweeper when given the chance. Once it sets up a single Growth, Cherubi is able to OHKO or 2HKO most Pokemon except Cloud Nine Lickitung and Munchlax. It also has better Special Defense than Bellsprout, who gives it massive competition as a Chlorophyll sweeper. Cherubi's pure Grass typing gives it certain advantages, such as a resistance to Ground-type attacks and neutrality to Psychic-type attacks, giving it more opportunities to set up. SolarBeam is Cherubi's primary sweeping attack due to STAB and high Base Power. Weather Ball is a useful move to have since it can hit a lot of Pokemon who are neutral to normal type moves, and can sometimes take advantage of Snover's and Hippopotas's weather-inducing presence in the metagame. Hidden Power Rock helps damage Fire-type Pokemon that would otherwise completely wall Cherubi.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Giga Drain is a viable alternative to SolarBeam with several advantages, but it does much less damage. Its advantages include the ability to gain back some of Cherubi's HP and OHKO unsuspecting Hippopotas who expect to switch in on SolarBeam. An Oran Berry can be used to prevent 2HKOs from special attacks like Shadow Ball from Misdreavus. However, the use of an Oran Berry does make Cherubi more vulnerable to physical priority attacks. Life Orb is another option over Eviolite, providing more power and can convert previous 2HKOs to OHKOs, though this would make Cherubi extremely vulnerable to priority moves and make it much harder to set up. A Timid nature can be used to outspeed most Chlorophyll sweepers and Choice Scarf users with 18 Speed at the cost of requiring Stealth Rock or Spikes support. Hidden Power Ice or Hidden Power Ground are possibilities, but in comparison with Hidden Power Rock, they provide worse coverage. Fighting-types or Pokemon who can handle Lickitung are good teammates for Cherubi. Stealth Rock or Spikes support is always handy even if you don't run Timid, since it can help Cherubi achieve more OHKOs.

[Other Options]

Cherubi can run a SubSeed, Synthesis, Aromatherapy, and possibly a mixed attacking Growth set, though such sets will usually perform poorer than the standard set. Healing Wish over Hidden Power can be used to restore a fellow teammate's HP and status, but Cherubi is better off attacking to the last of its breath. Aside from that, Cherubi doesn't have the ability to pull off other sets since it would be outclassed by other Pokemon.

[Checks and Counters]

Due to Cherubi's access to Growth and great coverage, it is actually somewhat hard to truly counter. However, it has various checks. Lickitung and Swablu both have Cloud Nine, and as such, can check Cherubi by eliminating the effects of weather. Snover and Hippopotas can give Cherubi trouble by getting rid of sun, though they will be affected by Hidden Power Rock and Giga Drain, respectively. Faster Chlorophyll users and Pokemon that run a Choice Scarf, such as Bellsprout and Houndour, can also be good checks to Cherubi. Priority moves such as Ice Shard, Sucker Punch and Mach Punch can be trouble for Cherubi since they will hit Cherubi before it can make a move and can easily 2HKO it, preventing Cherubi from setting up.

Cherubi does not receive a Dream World ability.

Cherubi is interesting, considering that it is one of the few Pokemon that gets the move Growth, the move Weather Ball, and the ability Chlorophyll. Once it gets off a Growth, Cherubi is able to OHKO or 2HKO most Pokemon except Cloud Nine Lickitung and Munchlax. After using Growth once, Cherubi becomes extremely useful and can KO a lot of Pokemon. It also has better Special Defense than Bellsprout, who gives it massive competition as a Chlorophyll sweeper. Cherubi's pure Grass typing gives it certain advantages, such as a resistance to Ground-type attacks and neutrality to Psychic-type attacks. This eases setup on things like Pokemon carrying Psychic-type attacks and special attackers. Weather Ball is a useful move to have, since it can hit a lot of Pokemon who are neutral to it. Since Pokemon that can set up weather like Snover and Hippopotas are around in the metagame, this can be taken advantage of by Weather Ball at times. Hidden Power Rock gets good coverage with Cherubi's other moves. SolarBeam hits a lot of Pokemon really hard, due to it getting STAB and having a high Base Power.

An Oran Berry Cherubi would get 4HKOed by an Eviolite Meditite, whereas an Eviolite Cherubi gets 5HKOed. Life Orb is another option over Eviolite. No ugh @_@. It's Growth + Weather Ball (and Chlorophyll) plenty of other Pokemon get the previous combination. This allows Cherubi to have another attacking move, which basically makes it a Petilil that trades Sleep Powder for another Attacking move (and one SpDef point, but only because of Hidden Power IVs). Also Cherubi is more bulky than Bellsprout.

Take out the bit of the 4HKO and 5HKO from Meditite, that's no longer relevant with the banning of Vulpix, since it has to switch out 3 times to do this (Sunny Day doesn't last that long even with Heat Rock). Just mention that it can survive some stronger hits with Eviolite that it would otherwise die from with Oran Berry (mostly Physical Attacks).

Mention Healing Wish (probably the best alternative, but only over Hidden Power as to not be outclassed by Cherubi by one SpDef point) and maybe Morning Sun :/.

Some of it is content issues, but otherwise, the sentences don't really feel right. Well, at least I didn't have to re-write everything. :D

Short and sweet. As CP said, there's some improvement, but you still gotta work a little bit harder, especially with content! Aiming for around 5 sentences for the overview that talks about a Pokemon's pros and cons is usually the best way to go. Checks and Counters could use a little more information too.

Sorry I didn't post this sooner, but you're making Cherubi sound way more shitty than it actually is. The only thing that makes it "outclassed" by Petilil is lack of Sleep Powder, but instead it gets Weather Ball so it's not actually outclassed. It has the same exact stats as Petilil when added up (although Cherubi has to forgo Hidden Power, but it has Weather Ball so that's moot), and Petilil isn't outclassed by Bellsprout. Cherubi also boasts access to Growth over the majority of Chlorophyll sweepers.

Just say it lacks Sleep Powder or different / smaller movepool, not that its "(widely) outclassed" like it says in the Overview and Other Options, etc.
