not worth its own set. Swords Dance set can slash a coverage move with Baton Pass, other boosting moves go in OO

I believe it gets passable coverage options, a high enough base speed, and a high base power STAB in Megahorn to warrant a Choice Band set. The ability to absorb toxic spikes, threaten and outspeed many common defensive pokemon and hit them for super effective damage is a huge boon. It outspeeds many scary sweepers and can serve as a revenge killer without necessarily needing a scarf. However Heracross' presence in UU leaves me unsure of its validity as Bug/Poison aren't exactly stellar STABs, especially in comparison to Bug/Fighting. I'm not sure how well Jolly Choice Band Scolipede stacks up to Adamant Choice Scarf Heracross stat wise either, so there's that to think about too. Just an idea since Scolipede does have surprisingly good coverage for a Bug, on par with Hera's to say the least. Probably just Other Options material at best though.

I believe that Baton Pass could be viable as it is very fast, and TSpikes and Spikes is very uncommon for BPers. It does get Agility and Swords Dance, so they both are still viable, regardless of the bulk, which most BP chains make sure you have alot of with moves like Iron Defense and Amnesia. Speaking of Iron Defense, Scolipede can also pass that, too. Though Baton Pass boosts in offense are outclassed by SmashPass, I think it can be viable in UU once SmashPass gets banned, but some people are going against the banning, so I don't know what is going to happen. So how is Scolipede not a good BPer?

Actually, if you don't mind me putting in.... I find Scolipede to be quite the threat as a Life Orb user. I use Earthquake/Megahorn/Protect/Rock Slide. I enjoy how well it can cover against things like Infernape and both the Lati's. I wish it had more base attack power though... It has trouble with Infernape still. w/out Life Orb... it knocks Infernape down to about 1/6 HP. Life Orb really helps solve that. Also... Chandelure manages to be another problem. I have yet to see what Life Orb'd Earthquake can do on a Chandelure.

Bumping this because I've been using Scoliopede and it's really sexy ^__^

The SD set is very dangerous, because it sits at a fantastic base 112 speed and has great coverage. SD/Megahorn/Earthquake/Rock Slide or Baton Pass with the standard sweeper spread. It also sets up tspikes/spikes I think so that's kinda cool. Has great offensive partners in Escavalier, Heracross, and Houndoom. Appreciates spin support, pairs better with Donphan than Hitmontop.

I think a purely baton pass set should be posted as it gets good boosting moves like swords dance, agility and iron defense.

I think Scolipede is way outclassed by Mew in terms of pure Baton Passing. Mew is way, way bulkier and can pass boosts in all stats. Swords Dance, Barrier / Iron Defense, Nasty Plot, Amnesia and Rock Polish. But yet again, Mew might be banned next round too, like SmashPass.

Comparison in bulk:

Mew 100/100/100
Scolipede 60/89/69

Bumping i guess. I'll be back on friday and we can get this show on the road since no one else is taking the initiative and i still seem to have the reservation. Shouldn't be too hard to get this through qc seeing as mightypede doesn't have many viable options outside of the two sets posted by snunch.

I'm going to rule out the choice set though due to its weakness to sr, poor typing that gives few switchin opportunities, and being overall outclassed by Hera in that department.

Tbh I don't see a BP worthy of it's own set but it makes for an interesting slash on the sder.

Oh these sets look good... wait wtf, this thing got buried pretty deep eh? Well, I shouldn't talk after how deep I let Venomoth get... >3>
