Arena
Lavender Town
Lavender Tower, the second floor. The floor is covered with tombstones and the place is empty, just for the battle. Pokemon afraid of ghost (read: weak to it) will focus mostly on not crapping their pants instead of battling, resulting in a one star reduction on both Atk and SpAtk. Everytime a Tombstone is in any way broken, a ghost from the gastly family will appear to join the fun (60% a Gastly appears, 30% for a Haunter and 10% for a Gengar). They will have low hp and the ability to use any move they can normally learn.

Arena Effects
- Any Pokemon weak to Ghost will have their Attack and Special Attack reduced by 1 rank.
- Tombstones can be broken with attacks or contact, both on purpose and accidentally, at the refs discression.
- A broken tombstone will result in a ghost being released (60% a Gastly appears, 30% for a Haunter and 10% for a Gengar).
- The ghost will have 10 HP and will attack a particpant at random, with a move decided by the ref.

Since thor just evolved, I will use another pokemon.

Go Hector the Munchlax

Let's start this match with simple actions:

Ice Beam - Screech - Double Edge.

As the battle develops, we can figure out some more creative ways to attack and it is just enough time for you to get a grip of your surroudings.

Let's also start simple BINGO, by Toxicing that fatty. then follow up with a Stockpile to lessen the screech and then finish with a Sand Attack to hopefully make him miss you and hit a tombstone

This one verses one battle of the overweight babies kicks off with a bang, because the minute noBINGO the Hippopotas gets out of her Pokeball her Sand Stream kicks in and whips up a huge sandstorm. How that works inside I do not know, but I'm positive it will make for some unhappy ghosts. Hector the Munchlax doesn't much seem to like it either. noBINGO decides that the residual damage tactic is the best way to break down the massive HP stat of her opponent, so she leads off by leeching a gas into his nostrils that inflicts Hector with Toxic Poison. Undeterred, Hector fires off an Ice Beam which the hippo doesn't seem to enjoy a whole lot. In fact she's so put off by the attack that noBINGO uses some of her ample fat stores to bulk up her defences, Stockpiling some partially undigested snacks in her belly to make her more resistant to all attacks. Hector quickly undoes this effort with a horrible Screech though. noBINGO keeps on playing with the passive tactics, throwing sand from the storm into Hector's eyes in the hopes he gets a little too rash and awakens the towers inhabitants. Hector does indeed rush in head strong, but his Double Edge is able to find its mark. But the recklessness of his actions, combined with the tactics of trainer pimpgangster mean that despite making all the attacking, Hector's health is every so slightly starting to fade.

um... doesn't stockpile increase def by 1 stage. If it does then the damage inflicted by double edge should only be 15 and not 17.

Anyway, BINGO lets start off with a strong Earthquake, hopefully breaking some of the tombstones in the process, then we can hit it with a Slide of Rocks and then finish with another Earthquake the same as the first.

the stockpile boost was accounted for here: (12 + 3 + (3-3)*1.5) - 1.5 + 2*1.5. Those boosts are calculated separately.

Anyway, Hector, since you are losing about 12hp per turn, I don't think we have the luxury of beating around the bushes so start by using Counter to turn that Earthquake against Mr. Hippo. After that use Odor Sleuth to avoid unecessary hax and finalize with another counter.

So I decided the ghosts would only attack at the end of a round, to save it being too complex. Also it sucks that Hector is immune to ghost attacks, because I had already decided before he had been sent out that Ghastlys would use Night Shade, Haunters Shadow Punch and Gengars Shadow Ball.

A sandstorm is raging

The feeling out stages of this battle are quickly over because noBINGO goes all out and unleashes a massive Earthquake! It may not have been the smartest move however, as two of the nearby tombstones cracked up completely, each releasing a none too happy Haunter! Hector meanwhile has managed to channel all the damage he took from the attack into a Counter that hits noBINGO back even harder! She immediately tries to attack back, picking up some of the tombstone remnants and throwing them at Hector as a Rock Slide. But not only does the attack miss they smash into another tombstone and release a Ghastly! Hector meanwhile makes strange motions with his nose, and seems to have picked up noBINGO's scent. Apparently his nose can smell more than just lunch, who would have though. The final action of the round is a repeat of the first. noBINGO's Earthquake once again breaks two stone, bringing out another Haunter and another Ghastly. This place is chock full of ghosts. Hector once again Counters the attack although once you factor in his poison and the sandstorm he hasn't escaped damage himself.

Finally the ghosts see thier opportunity to strike. However all but one of them turn their attention to Hector, against whom their attacks are useless! The one Ghastly does seem to particularly dislike noBINGO though, and hits her with a Night Shade attack that brings her even closer to the brink. It's not looking good for pimpganster and his hippo.

noBINGO senses she may be in trouble in this match, and decides to begin the round by Slacking Off to regain some HP. But Hector quickly removes most of this bonus health with an Ice Beam. noBINGO again decides that perhaps avoiding damage would be the best option, but unfortunately as we are on the second floor of a building there is nothing to dig into! Hector then crashes into the somewhat confused hippo with a Double Edge that is more than enough to knock her out.
