Arena: ASB Tournament Arena

Surrounded by thousands of screaming Pokemon fans, the ASB Arena can be best described as a standard Pokemon battling arena. In the center of the arena lies a dirt-based floor outlined to show two separate sides (with a white Pokeball center). Surrounding the dirt is a moat filled with water. The moat is about fifteen feet wide and creates a perimeter around the dirt arena. The arena itself is eighty feet wide, one hundred feet long. All moves, weathers, and abilities are legal for the match, since it's an outdoor arena with a large water source and packed dirt. Pokemon must stay in the arena (or the dimensions of the arena in the case of Flying Pokemon, who cannot leave the arena and cannot fly higher than sixty feet). This prevents Pokemon from injuring the crowd watching the tournament. There are no outside interruptions by fans, Pokemon, or other elements not associated with the current battle.

All right, let's get it started! Use Double Team (4) to start things off, then use Quiver Dance. Finish with a Bug Buzz.

Summary:
Double Team (4) -> Quiver Dance -> Bug Buzz

Start this off with a Dragon Pulse to most likely start find clones. Erect a Light Screen to minimize the damage from special attacks. End with another Waterfall.

Action 1:

Both Pokemon are let out of their Poke Balls to great roars from the audience! This second-round match looks to be good judging from the Pokemon we'll be seeing battle! Harry, the Volcarona, leaves no time wasted as he goes right away for the Double Team. Four images of himself blur across the arena, making it tough to call which is which! The opponent's Dragonair responds by lashing out with a focused Dragon Pulse at one of the multiples, hopefully nailing the right one! One of the clones fades into obscurity, though, indicating that the real one is still out there!

Action 2:

All of the clones of Volcarona then begin channeling mystic energy into their butterfly wings! Amazingly, they begin to glow and accelerate as the mystic dance imbues them with added power. Dragonair, sensing the danger this will eventually bring to him, erects a barrier of pure light to greatly reduce further attacks to him from Volcarona's primary moves. Will this pan out? Let's find out!

Volcarona used Quiver Dance! Volcarona's Special Attack was raised! Volcarona's Special Defense was raised! Volcarona's Speed was raised!

And now that the preparation is complete, the real battle begins! Volcarona's many clones lash out simultaneously with a ferocious Bug Buzz that ripples through Dragonair, dealing serious damage that would've been much worse without Light Screen up! Dragonair recovers swiftly, and responds by flinging a Waterfall at an image, hopefully nailing the real one! Unfortunately, it merely fades out another clone! He needs a new strategy!

Dragonair is getting worn down by repeated assaults from Volcarona as he tries to find the real one. Volcarona leads this round by having all of its clones identically smash Dragonair with a psychic assault. These twisters seek out and strike all of the Volcarona, vaporizing both clones and striking the true one! He is now back in the battle!

He does so, and well, Dragonair flips Volcarona the proverbial middle finger of justice and smashes him with an immensely powerful Waterfall! Volcarona is hurt so badly by that attack that hopefully he doesn't give Dragonair the chance to do it again! Fortunately for it, Volcarona's passive heat burns Dragonair as it makes contact with it!

Volcarona, realizing the threat that the rain poses, reverses its effects by opening up the skies for a Sunny Day! With the weather now against it, Dragonair tries to even the playing field by paralyzing Volcarona with a jolt of electricity. Volcarona's looking as healthy as possible, though like I just said, rather tired!

Unfortunately, this Waterfall is substantially dampened compared to the last due to the sun. Once again, though, Volcarona's fiery body burns Dragonair! He just isn't getting a break! That said, it still leaves a hole in Volcarona! Volcarona succeeds at not being fully paralyzed, and strikes with its Flamethrower! The attack, while resisted, hits mighty hard thanks to the raw power behind it! Who will win this match-up! It seems it's finally winding down!

Ok you will probably faint this round but you've put up a good fight and lasted a long time, great job! Now, for a final Waterfall, follow up with Draco Meteor and if you have anything left, use Waterfall again.

Let's Bug Buzz to start. If, by some miracle, it doesn't faint after that, use another one. Do it again if need be. Let's brace ourselves for Scyther...

Dragonair seems to have set it up for the perfect finisher, as Volcarona has used up all of his recovers and most of his chills! Furthermore, with rain up and boosting his attacks and one action of Light Screen left, he's going to get two powerful hits in before going down! As expected, Dragonair unleashes a potent Waterfall that slams Volcarona and sends it rolling backwards across the arena. Volcarona tries to recover, but is so smashed by the attack that it can't seem to get up quite yet! It flinched! Holy crap maybe we've got a turn-around!!

Dragonair now has the momentum on his side after a flinch like that, and so whirls around in circles before the felled Volcarona. After several seconds of wreathing mystical patterns in the air, the sky itself parts and gigantic meteors come falling to the planet! The entire audience flees and hides behind their seats as the meteors rain down upon Volcarona, smashing it for immense damage! Dragonair is clearly exhausted from the attack, but somehow Volcarona stands back up, and in his nearly-dying state, lashes out with one final whirlwind of sound against the now-spent Dragonair! The attack causes Dragonair to seize up, and fall to the ground, unmoving. The crowd gradually stands up from behind their seats and begin cheering! Finally a Pokemon has fallen!

Action 1:

PKMN Trainer AlphaJolt pulls back his fallen Dragonair, but isn't mourning for it. No, instead, he seems to have a plan! Did his Dragonair reduce Volcarona to KO range for his other Pokemon? He then sends out a Scyther, which has a powerful Technician-boosted Wing Attack ready! Almost as soon as he is sent out, he zips across the battle field and slices the slow and crippled Volcarona with its wing deftly. The attack causes Volcarona to shudder and collapse completely onto the floor. Volcarona seems to let out a weak laugh as it falls, though.. What could be the ploy?! Oh my, there it is! Volcarona's Flame Body activated when Scyther got too close with that hit and scorched Scyther, burning it! What a vendetta to execute in your dying breath! Phenomenal!

Ares let's win this battle! You have the speed advantage so use it wisely. Start with Toxic to get some residual damage going right away. Next use Light Screen to keep the special damage down now that Rain Dance isn't in effect. Finish with Wing Attack. If at any point he uses Rock Slide, Counter it and push your actions back by one space.

All right, Draco. Let's rack up some damage...or not. (Thank heavens for Flame Body.) Start with your mighty Protect to prevent Toxic and whatnot. Go with a Hone Claws next, and Thunder Fang to wrap things up (parahax, plz?).

Pre-Round:

PKMN Trainer Dummy007 returns his fallen Volcarona, still smirking at the burn that it inflicted in its failing breath. Out to replace him is an immensely large dragon, a Salamence! Impressive! The audience cheers, hoping that the battle will now get really exciting. As Salamence appears on the battlefield, he roars at Scyther, intimidating him and weakening his resolve!

The attack is weakened by Scyther's burned state, but still leaves a sting mark! Salamence rears up, ready to unleash hell, but... He just bites the Scyther? The audience stares blankly at this thundery fang, clearly unimpressed with Salamence's choice of attack here. Boos all around from the folks at this action! They wanted explosions! Regardless, the attack hits modestly well, or about as well as a Thunder Fang can!
