Arena
ASB Tournament Arena
Surrounded by thousands of screaming Pokemon fans, the ASB Arena can be best described as a standard Pokemon battling arena. In the center of the arena lies a dirt-based floor outlined to show two separate sides (with a white Pokeball center). Surrounding the dirt is a moat filled with water. The moat is about fifteen feet wide and creates a perimeter around the dirt arena. The arena itself is eighty feet wide, one hundred feet long. All moves, weathers, and abilities are legal for the match, since it's an outdoor arena with a large water source and packed dirt. Pokemon must stay in the arena (or the dimensions of the arena in the case of Flying Pokemon, who cannot leave the arena and cannot fly higher than sixty feet). This prevents Pokemon from injuring the crowd watching the tournament. There are no outside interruptions by fans, Pokemon, or other elements not associated with the current battle.

I'll go ahead and send out pimpganster's Embirch for him, so just up to Rediamond to do his stuff.

Good luck!

Alright, Grimer, let's do this!
Go for a Toxic, Sludge, and Dig attack, but if he uses Earth Power replace the next action with a Disable.

Sorry did not know this was up, even searched for it!

anyway Lets start off with a Sunny Day to avoid that status then go with an Earth Power and finish up with a Flame Charge.

Here we are finally getting this one versus one matchup underway. Kardel the Embirch seems to have been waiting ages for his trainers actions, and Gumshoe the Grimer was becoming a little impatient himself. They get right into it now though, with Kardel calling for the clouds to disperse and the sun to beat down on the battlefield with a Sunny Day. Phew, its getting hot out here already. Gumshoe then responds by launching Toxic gunk at the Embirch, and the sunny conditions would have made sure his Leaf Guard prevented the gunk effecting him, if the trainers hadn't agreed to disable all their Pokemon's abilities before the battle. D'oh. Kardel quickly shakes off the miscalculation, and causes the ground to fly open at Gumshoe's feet (or slimy backside at least) with his Earth Power. The Grimer did not appreciate that hit, and immediately Disables the use of the attack for the short term. Kardel ends the round with a Flame Charge, which serves to further enhance his speed advantage. Gumshoe isn't worried by this, speed is not his game. Instead he Digs into the ground and springs up underneath Kardel, knocking him flying into the air. As he lands it also becomes clear that his poisoning is slowly getting worse..

The sun is shining bright (3 rounds)

We're back to this singles battle in the bright sunlight, and Kardel immediately taked advantage of this. He absorbs as much of the light as he can into his cells, until his Growth is enormous. Gumshoe's response is a lot less subtle, he just hurls Sludge at the dinosaur and boy does it hit him super effectively. Kardel takes advantage of its new boosts with an Ember attack. Even this relatively weak attack does a large amount of damage with the two competitors in their current states so imagine what a more powerful attack would have done. Gumshoe isn't sticking around to see such an attack, as he Digs underground and just stays there! Kardel is too worked up to respond properly to this tactic, so he instead uses up a whole lot of his energy on a useless Overheat attack. Boy that would have hurt if it hit though. No doubt pleased with his work, Gumshoe finally pops up from underground and whacks into Kardel with his Dig attack. A nice mix of tactics and power look to have given Gumshoe the upper hand, especially as the poison flowing through Kardel ever worsens.

The sun is shining bright (2 rounds)

Both Pokemon look ready to get down to the business and of this battle. Although for some reason Kardel decides to do this by firing off an Ember attack from its weakened specially offensive pool, seems silly given he is running with an attack boost at the moment. The mistake may cost him because the move does only mediocre damage. Gumshoe responds with something definitely not mediocre, as he rocks the Embirch with another Sludge attack. Then a strange look comes over Kardel's face, as it seems Gumshoe's mystical power over his movepool has ceased and he immediately remembers, and executes an Earth Power. In fact the move also weakens Gumshoe's Special Defence, evening it up with Kardel's own lacking Special Attack. Gumshoe responds with by simply Pounding on Embirch's head. Kardel thought that last move was so nice he might do it twice, so he hits Gumshoe with another Earth Power. The Grimer is able to shake off the hit and return with another Sludge attack. The move does all but KO Kardel and his persistent poisoning finally does just that. The tactic of letting that poison last through the whole match has paid off and delivered victory for Gumshoe and Rediamond!
