Welcome one and all to a rather cryptic battlefield. Thousands of years ago, a great empire stretched across Central Johto, only to be demolished in subsequent wars. For years, the ruins of the ancient city were left undisturbed. Until now. Two brave explorers have descended into the ruins today to discover just what happened to those survivors who fled underground. But first, they're going to have to battle through each other to earn sole credit for the discovery. Who will rise to fame, and who will meet their ruin? Find out next, in this exclusive break from the History Channel's normal routine of WWII, the aliens, and Nostradamus. Scratch that, the only time the History Channel intends to do such a thing. So join us now for Alph: Towards the Unknown Conclusion.

LUPUSATER will send out his mons after we return from the break.

EDIT: POSITIONING DOES NOT MATTER. Seriously, that's getting way too complex.

I choose Skadi the Sneasel with Inner Focus, Fafnir the Croconaw with Torrent and Mani the Eevee with Adaptability.

Kumasyun (Snow Cloak), Servine (Contary), and Kibago (Mold Breaker), Let's go!
Kibago: Hone Claws ~ Iron Tail @Sneasel
Servine: Attract @Croconaw ~ Leaf Storm @Sneasel
Kumasyun: Toxic @Sneasel ~ Icy Wind @Sneasel

Skadi, Taunt Servine then Dig underground, emerging at the end of the round to strike Kibago.
Muninn, Taunt Cubchoo then use a Brave Bird on Servine.
Fafnir, Ice Beam Kibago then Dragon Claw him.

PS: Lyris, you should note the lowered defense on your Servine. It should be Rank 2.

Round One: Judgement Day

Three Pokemon appear at the sides of both trainers. Traditionally, the league only sponsors singles and doubles, but the league matters little down here. These ruins were the property of another empire long before the Indigo League Rose to prominence. And the rules of survival are their own code all together. You fight with as many as you can command, and die otherwise. Two menacing dark types and a Croconaw back Lupaster, best known for his research of the old Norse cultures. His opponent, the less famous Lyris1035 has a team from the Unova region, her area of study.

Almost immediately into the fight, Sneasel exhibits some of her dark nature by giving a nice ramble in PokeSpeak to Servine. While it is fairly difficult to translate, the word "perversity" and associated phrases appear quite frequently. Servine is so enraged by this that she is unable to act as the battle progresses, giving out a battle shout that is best translated as "I HAVE RAGE!!!" Inspired by Skadi's success, Murkrow begins to Taunt Cubchoo, mocking it's slow speed and how it is a "wannabee Teddiursa" and how Gen V brought absolutely nothing original to the table. Elsewhere in the battlefield, Croconaw and Axew move at exactly the same time, Axew begins to scrape it's claws rapidly agains each other, right as a huge frozen pulse collides with them and freezing them together. However, Axew has still flexed his muscles sufficiently. Cubchoo is still enraged by the insult, and is unable to do anything over his shaking in a foil to the aliens and illuminati, who do everything. Ever.

Sneasel starts the next round by doing the next-sneakiest thing she can think of doing: hiding underground. Using her amazing speed and reflexes, she has burrowed underground before any other competitor can even think of firing a shot. Servine, in her fury, shoots a barrage of leaves over the hole, causing them to collide with the panel behind it that starts glowing in a strange blue light. Murkrow takes advantage of this, and flies across the arena and slams into Servine, wings extended in a reckless tackle that harms Murkrow a little from the impact, but sends Servine flying back into a wall which glows with even brighter intensity. Sneasel pops up from her hole to see what is going on, but quickly ducks underground as Axew slams her tail towards her with incredible force and a huge icy gale blows across the arena. And that's enough to set things over the edge. The symbols on the wall glow brighter still, as huge number of runes float off of the walls and begin to fire off strangely colored orbs everywhere, dealing huge damage to all above the surface until it seems as if both trainers will meet there end, and not even to each other. And then as suddenly as it started, the runes melted back into the walls, and silence reigns in the cavern. At this point, Sneasel emerges from the underground, striking Servine and resuming the battle.

Lupaster orders after the break

Good job guys (and gal).
Skadi, open with an Ice Punch on Servine. If she's still on her feet, Aerial Ace her afterwards, or Screech at Kibago if she's KOed.
Fafnir, Ice Beam and Ice Punch Kibago.
Muninn, Brave Bird on Servine, then Roost.

You're playing Unfair! :@
lupusater Why did you change Pokemon after you sent out Eevee?
Servine: Activate Contary + Leaf Storm @Croconaw ~ Giga Drain @Croconaw
Kibago: Taunt @Murkrow ~ Reversal @Sneasel
Kumasyun: Blizzard ~ Ice Punch @Murkrow

Oops... I didn't read the mons I had sent out when I gave orders. Wanna redo the first round, with Eevee this time?
EDIT: In the case the ref accepts, the other orders remain unchanged, and Eevee will use Helping Hand on Croconaw and then Shadow Ball on Axew.

If that edit is the case, I'll change my actions too!
Servine's Actions shall be the same (Attract @Croconaw ~ Leaf Storm @Sneasel with Contary) except with a sub: if taunted A1, Leaf Blade @Croconaw
Kibago's actions will be the same too.
Kumasyun's actions are also the same, also with a sub: if taunted A1, Frost Breath @Eevee.

Oh, that's what this was about. I apologize for missing that, and will redo the round at some point in the next two days. I'll post in here again when I've edited the last round.

Ok. Skadi, Ice Punch Axew, then Faint Attack Servine.
Fafnir, Ice Beam and Ice Fang Servine.
Mani, give Skadi an Helping Hand, then Shadow Ball Cubchoo.

Servine: Mirror Coat ~ Giga Drain @Croconaw if you're still alive
Kibago: Reversal x2

Round Two: The North Wind of the Earth

The History Channel apologizes for the innacuracy of the last segment (yeah, right) and promises to bring more accurate coverage for the remainder of the battle. This is clear evidence that we should stick with the Mayan Calander and aliens. Regardless, Eevee leads the next round of combat by clapping rapidly, with a volume unexpected for such a tiny creature. This noise is highly invigorating to her ally, Sneasel, who uses the energy to freeze her hand even more than normal and deliver and extremely icy blow to Axew, who can't take the attack and collapses from the pain. Following up on the KO, Croconaw launches another freezing Ice Beam, this time at Servine, who just seems to soak up the hit. Continuing the icy exchange, Cubchoo rears back its head, and blasts out an enormous pulse of energy from its mouth. The attack scores critical damage on the three opposing Pokemon, while also forcing them to work harder to get through the new, arctic weather conditions in the arena. Servine immediately strikes from the frost by shooting a wave of energy larger and more potent than the Ice Beam at Croconaw, who reels from the power of the hit.

With Sneasel working hard to fight the powerful arctic wind, Servine has the speed advantage and begins to bury seeds in the ground. Suddenly, a large plant erupts underneath Croconaw, and starts to bind him to the grind where his energy is leeched into Servine's plant, where it is then given to the grass-type. Finally powering through the wind, Sneasel leeps forwards and dissolves into darkness before slamming into Servine and knocking her away from her roots. Cubchoo would assist her, but it is still recovering from the sheer energy it took to perform the arctic gale attack. By this time, Mani and Fafnir have recovered. Fafnir lunges forwards and clamps his fangs into Servine. Unfortunately for her, they are still frozen from the arctic gale attack, so she is hit particularly hard as the cold kills off some of the cells around the bite. Cubchoo fares slightly better, as Eevee summons an orb of energy from the supernatural world. It is then blasted at Cubchoo, and the exposure to spirits lowers his vulnerability to elemental attacks.

At this point, Lyris takes the time to send out her Eevee to even up the numbers, but the odds are dramatically stacked against her.

Round Three: Withering Away

Continuing on in the battle, Mani appears fully prepared to bring the battle for fame to an end. With unmatched speed, Mani races forwards and delivers an enormously fast tackle to Servine that finally brings it down and out of the battle, putting Lyis1035 at a numerical disadvantage for the round. To further solidify this, Sneasel begins to use the transluscent nature of the ice crystals around him to distort the light into an almost tangible shield to gaurd his team. Croconaw finish's Lupusater's rampage by picking up a large pile of boulders and throwing them at Cubchoo. The tiny ice-bear is trapped under the assault and struggles to break free. Evoila, horrified to see the situation of her team thinks over all of the losses of the battle. Using the memories to drive her, she rushes forwards and slams into Sneasel who reels back from the attack. By this time, Cubchoo has broken free and spews toxic materials at Mani, who is badly poisoned by the attack.

Now the fastest combatant on the field, Sneasel delivers a tackle from the shadows at Evoila who is hurt significantly by the attack. Croconaw follows it up by concentrating on every ounce of power he has. When he has finished accounting for all of it, he summons everything in his body into a hugely powerful tackle aimed at Cubchoo. The Ice-type almost collapses from the blow. Once again, Lupusater's mon's all have a speed advantage, and Mani finishes things by firing an orb of shadows at Cubchoo who is hit particularly hard due to his weakened mental defenses. Evoila decides to burn even more painful memories in a tackle on Sneasel, and Cubchoo tries to exhale a large blast of freezing ice at Mani. However, the Eevee leaps into the air and avoids it. While some tiles glow on the other side of the arena when the attack hits, nothing appears.
