Round 1: elevator music is bad

"Welcome to the Tournament Arena! Both of you will be crying over fainted mons sooner or later, may as well get it over with now!"

So EM chooses to send out a Vulpix. (What kind of a name is Rokon?) Engineer counters with a Slowpoke, and the battle begins!

The Vulpix abuses the slowness of the Slowpoke to quickly create a 15 HP Substitute. Kansok, since he's a boy, decides to yawn at the doll. The doll seems bored by the yawn. Nothing happens.

Both Pokemon decide to get on the offensive now, with Rokon firing a ball of energy at Kansok which hits him for good damage. The Slowpoke returns fire with scalding water (how did it get so hot?) Amazingly, the doll persists. Kansok seems to be extremely angry at this.

Rokon decides to disable the Slowpoke by brainwashing it with "SCALD IS A TERRIBLE MOVE" slogans. Kansok seems to have lost all memory of the move. He now remembers his animosity towards the doll, and hits it with terrible toxic poisons! The torn and battered doll seems unaffected, though.

"It has been really close so far! This should be a great battle!"

Round 2: another useless round

So Rokon fires another ball of energy at the Slowpoke. It connects and somehow "saps the target's resiliency", causing Kansok to have lowered Special Defense! Kansok, having psychic powers, puts up a safeguard against status attacks.

The Vulpix, seemingly being unable to see the green veil surrounding Kansok, tries to hypnotize it. It innocently bounces off the safeguard. The Slowpoke now takes a page from Rokon's book and spams HER with "ENERGY BALL SUCKS" slogans. The attack is equally as effective as the last Disable.

Rokon moves first yet again, and tries to fire more energy at Kansok. However, she can't. Oh well.

The Slowpoke then finally breaks the doll with a weak Water Gun.

"You guys are almost neck-and-neck!"

Round 3: yes, safeguard is cool

So it's Rokon's turn to take a page out of Kansok's book. She sets up her own safeguard, which causes the Slowpoke's bored yawn to bounce right off. Hopefully this round will be more fun than this.

All of a sudden a voice starts speaking out of nowhere: "This is future iss to iss. This round will indeed be more fun to ref than that."

Getting back on track, the Vulpix surrounds Kansok in a ring of fire. Now the Slowpoke chooses to try shooting toxins at the safeguard. This is definitely not any more effective than the previous attempt to Toxic a Substitute.

Slowpoke takes some damage from Fire Spin. He's also no longer disabled.

Now, Rokon causes a massive heat wave that strikes the Slowpoke for a little bit of damage. Kansok then bursts out of the flames and slams into the Vulpix with a Headbutt. That looked like it hurt! I mean, Kansok seems to have suffered extra damage from bursting out of that Fire Spin.

Well, since Imprison evidently doesn't go through Substitutes... (I'm assuming that creating a Substitute would disrupt focus?)

Round 4: all things end in failure

So I guess Kansok has warmed up to the doll idea. He and Rokon both create Substitutes. Hopefully they'll be useful?

Also Rokon's Energy Ball is no longer disabled. Cool.

The Vulpix now patents all of her moves, preventing Kansok from using them from fear of a lawsuit. (that would be intreresting). Kansok doesn't like imprisonment (who does?) Anyways, he fires off more scalding water that again, shreds the doll but fails to make it fade.

Rokon sends off another ball of energy. It doesn't break Kansok's huge doll. The Slowpoke tries to use Disable, but checks his patents first and to his dismay finds that he faces imprisonment. He chooses to ignore orders and not use the move.

What a smart Slowpoke.

Round 5: man this battle is getting long in the tooth

So we finally have some hax to break these two Pokemon apart. Rokon crits the doll into shredded fabric with an Energy Ball. Kansok breaks the other doll with a weak Tackle.

Vulpix chills out like a boss. Slowpoke takes advantage of this to fire MORE scalding water (who knew Slowpokes had so much of that hot stuff?) at Rokon. It does good damage again.

Rokon hits the Slowpoke with another Energy Ball while Kansok headbutts the Vulpix. How interesting.

Also the green safeguard surrounding Slowpoke disappears. Rokon's patents expire, undisabling the Slowpoke.

So after five rounds, neither Pokemon has been KOed. Can we try to change that?

Rokon certainly wants to win, as she hypnotizes the Slowpoke to sleep. Unfortunately for my hopes, the RNG decides to be mean and give Slowpoke a light sleep. Kansok snoozes away, though.

The Vulpix fires yet another Energy Ball, hoping to end this. But Kansok wakes up and slacks off. He somehow gains HP from this (maybe he found a RageCandyBar?) This battle is long from over again...

WHAT IS IT WITH THESE BALLS OF ENERGY? WOULDN'T NATURE BE DRAINED DRY BY NOW? Anyways, the Slowpoke manages to avoid hax from YET another Energy Ball, and fires scalding water back at Rokon (RUN OUT OF WATER ALREADY GEEZ). Both attacks do decent damage.

Nothing ever changes. Except that Vulpix's safeguard wore off.

Anyways, Rokon is really lucky. She manages to roll deep sleep on Kansok, even though he's more resistant to it now!

Rokon then finishes off the Slowpoke with two Energy Balls. She's pretty low on energy though!
