Arena: Cyberspace (stolen from Spenstar)

Arena: Cyberspace

The battlers are standing on Porygon-Pink tiles that glow white when a Pokemon or trainer is on or directly above it. All moves are legal, as the tiles can take on any properties, from diggable ground to surf-water to grass knot material. However, these properties disappear immediately after usage, and cannot affect the field itself. There is no weather since this IS cyberspace, but when a weather move/ability is used, the tiles will react to emulate the desired weather effect.

Summary: All moves are legal and have their normal capabilities. The whole cyberspace tile thing is just for flavour.

Good Luck Trainers!

So I have entered cyberspace along with four pokemon and my opponent is waiting to see what I send out. I look at his team and realise it'll be tough. I pick my two starting pokemon and hope for the best.

Captain Hook the Arghonaut, you'll be needed for this one. For your ability, show them your Iron Fist.

Cruella de Vil the Roserade, you'll be assisting him. For your ability, you'll be needing Natural Cure.

I could only pray that these two could get me off to a good start.

Gallade w/ Justified

Arghonaut w/ Iron Fist

Gallade: (Psycho Cut)~Will-o-Wisp (Arghonaut)~Psycho Cut (Roserade) We want some damage as well as the ability to weaken Arghonaut's attacks. Start by flat out attacking Roserade, and then burn Arghonaught so as to make it much more manageable. Finish with another psychic assault on Roserade. If Roserade uses Sleep Power, Magic Coat it back.

Arghonaut: Wrap (Arghonaut)~Hold Arghonaut+Cross Chop Arghonaut~Release Arghonaut+Ice Punch Roserade Begin by wrapping Arghonaut up all nice and tight, allowing Gallade to take time to aim at Arghonaut with his Will-o-Wisp. Also try to use Mrs. de Vil as a meat shield in case Roserade tries to attack you. The Wrap should also prevent Arghonaut from trying to use water to extinguish the flames. While you're holding her, you can Cross Chop Arghonaut at the same time; I have faith in you that you can keep your focus. Finish up with an Ice Punch on Roserade to (hopefully) knock it out cold (pun intended).

This did not look good, but I had a plan that had a small chance of working.

Captain Hook needed to begin by taunting the Gallade - we certainly didn't want him to burn Hook and it would also prevent any reflecting status back at us. Even if the other Arghonaut wrapped him tightly, it probably wouldn't be too hard for him to taunt. Once wrapped, however, Captain Hook's options would be limited, but he could probably still yawn at the other Arghonaut and make it drowsy. Finally, it looked like our opponents would be focusing their attacks on Cruella de Vil, leaving Hook free to fire off a focused punch.

Cruella de Vil would need to take a different approach. First, a cloud of toxic gas in the Gallade's face would help to wear it down. This would be followed up by a sleeping powder to put the Gallade to sleep, and finally draining the Arghonaut's vitality. If, for some reason, the first sleep powder missed, then it was of vital importance that Cruella succeeded on the second attempt.

Captain Hook: Taunt (Gallade) - Yawn (Arghonaut) - Focus Punch (Arghonaut)

Cruella de Vil: Toxic (Gallade) - Sleep Powder (Gallade) - Giga Drain (Arghonaut)
If the first sleep powder misses, change your third action to Sleep Powder (Gallade)

We are here at a new frontier for Pokemon battles. We stand on these tiles, hovering in space, while we await the beginning of a match between Kaxtar and Objection. This isn't a weakmon battle, our battlers are here to win. Objections kicks things off by sending out Captain Hook the Arghonaut and Cruella de Vil the Roserade. Kaxtar responds by sending out Demi Gravidon the Gallade and Pirate Man the Arghonaut. Cruella doesn't waste any time, as she sprays Demi with a cloud of Toxic gas. Demi retaliates by Cutting at Cruella like the Psycho he is. Captain Hook tries to draw Demi's attention away from Cruella, and he begins to Taunt him. Pirate Man seems to be affected by the taunting, as he Wraps around Captain Hook with his tentacles and begins to squeeze the life out of him.

Cruella then dowses Demi with a Sleep Powder, putting him into an intense sleep. Captain Hook seems bored by Pirate Man's efforts, as he begins to Yawn, making Pirate Man drowsy. Pirate Man tries to beat the smugness out of Captain Hook with a powerful Cross Chop. Cruella turns to Pirate Man and begins to (Giga) Drain his life with a weird green beam. Pirate man lets go of Captain Hook, as his fist becomes covered in Ice. He then Punches Cruella, sending the Roserade into the air. Captain Hook spent the time Focusing all of his might into this one attack, as he Punches Pirate Man, sending him into an intense sleep.

Objection, you're up.

Well, this battle had gotten off to a better start than I expected. My opponent's Arghonaut was almost certainly going to be unable to do anything this round. However, we weren't out of the woods yet. That Gallade needed to be taken down.

Captain Hook simply needed to take advantage of a free action to bulk up unhindered. After that, he could go to town on the Gallade with water-based attacks.

Cruella de Vil, on the other hand, had something special that we needed to get out there quickly: spikes. Her leech seed would also be useful. Once those two were all set up, she could assist Captain Hook in taking down the Gallade.

Eager to take advantage of their sleeping foes, Captain Hook begins to Bulk Up. Cruella decides to do a little more damage, while keeping herself healthy, by spitting Seeds at Demi, that begin so Leech his life. Cruella then puts a layer of Spikes on the field. Captain Hook then slams into Demi with the force of a Waterfall. That jolt was just what Demi needed as he wakes up. He then Cuts into Cruella in a Psychotic frenzy.

Demi doesn't let up, as he slashes at Cruella with another Psycho Cut. Cruella then focuses on the Venom already in Demi's body, and amplifies them, Shocking Demi with some intense damage. Captain Hook continues smashing into Demi with another Waterfall. Hopefully Pirate Man will wake up soon to help his partner.

Cruella de Vil's time had come. At least she would be fast enough to get another hit or two in before going down. Captain Hook, meanwhile, would need to finish the job. One more Waterfall charge would do the trick surely. After that, it was a matter of working out how to pummel the other Arghonaut.
