Open Challange, Beginner Battle
3 vs 3 Doubles
2 Recoveries, 5 Chills
2 Day DQ, 3 Day Ref DQ

Arena: Random things

Every move is allowed. There are randomly positioned spikes on the field, which deal damage on contact(I leave it up to the ref how much this damage will be). There are also a couple of balloons floating around which can be grabbed, to avoid seismic attacks for that action, this action has a +1 priority. The balloon is destroyed at the end of the action it was used on and the mon takes small fall damage. There is a 10% chance to fall on a spike and take additional damage. Wind based attacks, and weak blasts can be used to send a balloon at your opponent, and get them lifted into the air, making them unable to use contact moves for the same action. When the balloons are destroyed there is a chance they have a chance to release different effects: Poison Powder 10%, Stun Spore 10%, Sleep Powder 10%, Leech Seed 5%. If a multi target attack is used to attack balloons near someone, there can be 1, 2 or 3 next to them, each with equal chance to happen, which are all destroyed by multi target attacks. Multi target attacks can also be used to destroy a balloon near someone and hit two opponents.
I've got an open battle slot, and 5 unevolved pokemon to pick from. I'll accept this.

Jinbe you are new to the team, so it's time to show your worth, Ace help him out there, and don't let me down! Blaze forth and use the Sand.

Alright, let's do this, Thorn (Adaptability) and Cyclost (Levitate)!

Cyclost, start off by launching a Confuse Ray at Jinbe, then Shadow Sneak Ace, then Night Shade Jinbe. If Ace ever uses Brick Break, replace your action that round with Disable Brick Break

Confuse Ray Jinbe > Shadow Sneak Ace > Night Shade Jinbe
If Ace uses Brick Break, replace your action with Disable Brick Break

Thorn, this is your first battle. Soon you'll be dealing damage a plenty, but for now, we've gotta soften them up first. Start by Yawning at Jinbe. Then, weaken Ace for Cyclost's attack by Tickling him. Then finish up by Digging, targeting Ace.

Yawn Jinbe > Tickle Ace > Dig Ace

Ace lets show them how to do this right. Start by doing some monkey business in front of Eevee, that'll be a suitable Taunt. Follow up with a Wave of Heat, targeting both enemies and a balloon near Eevee. Finish it with by grabbing a balloon and floating up for that action.

Taunt Eevee ~ Heat Wave Eevee Dusclops and balloon next to Eevee ~ Grab Balloon

Jinbe, sadly you can't avoid Confuse Ray, so lets make them ost of the action in which you aren't hitting yourself, or can you??? Sadly you can't, well not for sure that is! Use Rock Slide and pray to the hax gods it works, while you are at it hit a balloon next to Eevee too. Then hit Eevee with your Dragon Claws. For your next move Ace should be floating, while Dusclops too is floating, Eevee will be digging so you can use that to your adventage a fire off a powerful EARTHQUAKE.

Rock Slide Eevee Dusclops and a balloon near Eevee ~ Dragon Claw Eevee ~ Earthquake(obv can't hit no balloons)

Spikes are layered at random areas of the arena. They will deal 5 damage per contact, which will be checked at every action that requires movement, and your Pokemon has a 5% chance to accidentally trample upon them (I put a percentage in because I'd rather rely on the RNG than my mind). For example, chilling will never give your Pokemon a chance to step into these Spikes while Flame Wheeling will. Moves such as Fly and Bounce will always avoid these Spikes.

The Balloon's fall damage will be a minor 2 damage, which won't be too much of a big deal!

Anyway, let's start!

Round 1: Balloon Ahoy!

So here we are, at a random place with random things. Isn't that exciting? Well, apparently two trainers think it is and decide to battle here. One quite barky trainer called LightWolf glares at the other one, who happens to be some dude called rickheg. Suddenly, they send out two Pokemon each and at a flash, a battle commences!

Being the fastest of the crew, Ace pulls a trick from his sleeves and hastily Taunts at Thorn with weird gestures that seem like slapping his butt? Aha! Thorn is seemingly too frustrated from the naughty taunt to perform her duty! She tries to Yawn... but she just doesn't feel the mood to do so! Jinbe moves next in line and summons upon the rocks of nowhere land to slide down and crush both Cyclost and Thorn. It deals solid damage overall, though I see no flinching marks on the two. The large collision also manages to pop a single balloon! Uh-oh, something came out of it! It's a barrage of Leech Seeds! And, it's headed right at Thorn! Oddly enough, Cyclost, being the pure Ghost-type he is, just floats through the rocks that damages him and begins to fire a Confuse Ray at Jinbe, making the dragon pretty darn confused for four actions! Now it's all on the tilt of luck for Jinbe's future in this round!

The Leech Seed seems to be taking an early effect and sucks the life out of Thorn for Jinbe's bloodpool. That's a bit... creepy.

Ace (Taunt Thorn): [10 EN]
Thorn (Yawn Jinbe): [Cannot do so]
Jinbe (Rock Slide): [6 EN]
-Vs Cyclost: (6+1.5) = 7.5 ~ [8 DMG]
-Vs Thorn: (6+3) = [9 DMG]
1 balloon popped - unleashes Leech Seed on Thorn for Jinbe
Cyclost (Confuse Ray Jinbe): [4 EN]
-4 action confusion

Post-action:
+3 HP (Jinbe)
-3 HP (Thorn)

Before anything else moves, Cyclost follows the shadows to sneak up on Ace for a weak, pathetic, but haunting hit! This motives Ace and causes him to join the multi-hit fun and cruises a Heat Wave through Cyclost and Thorn. It sizzles through and heats up the cold feeling of death in Cyclost and the fuzzy fur of Thorn. I don't see a single burn though. However, the wave pops two balloons! From the first balloon comes a splashy Sleep Powder, headed right at Cyclost! Sadly, it was quite inorganic and just completely misses the ghost! The other balloon provides no content whatsoever - how uninteresting! Despite the taunt from earlier, Thorn insists on being the support maniac and attempts to Tickle Ace's fancy. Well, if you were his girlfriend and this was a year ago, maybe it could've worked, but... just no! See, today, Thorn is a bit too infuriated to do anything other than attacking! Ohoy! It's Jinbe's action to perform and he definitely looks a bit drunk! Still, I can tell he can keep his cool as he locks his eyes onto Thorn and leaps into his target without regret. A single slash of a Dragon's Claw is performed and bloody marks can be seen on the poor thing's fur!

The Leech Seed insists on taking Thorn's life for Jinbe's survival. What a lovely servant it is! I guess it doesn't know that Jinbe has been at full HP for the couple of actions...

Cyclost (Shadow Sneak Ace): (4+3+3) = [10 DMG/2 EN]
Ace (Heat Wave): [6 EN]
-Vs Cyclost: (7.5+3+0) = 10.5 ~ [11 DMG]
-Vs Thorn: (7.5+3+0) = 10.5 ~ [11 DMG]
2 balloon popped - 1 unleashes Sleep Powder onto Cyclost, which misses, while the other one did nothing
Thorn (Tickle Ace): [Cannot do so]
Jinbe (Dragon Claw Thorn): (8+3+3) = [14 DMG/5 EN]

Post-action:
+3 HP (Jinbe)
-3 HP (Thorn)

At last, the final action arrives and here we have Ace take priority for duty. He immediately leaps onto a random balloon and clings on for his life! Thorn finally got the clue that she must attack and starts digging underground for a sneaky strike on a special someone. Jinbe rages furious over nothing because he's a Gible and manages to shake the ground with an angry Earthquake! This smashes both Cyclost and Thorn, ESPECIALLY THORN, for big damage! What about Ace? He manages to avoid the hit completely, thanks to the balloon! Cyclost quickly recovers from the assault and puts on his own damage with a Night Shade to Jinbe, which will surely cause him to crap his confusing pants! Finally, we have Thorn thrusting her way through the ground and right into Ace's... old spot... which is... nothing. Oh darn! That monkey is one tricky fool! Right after, Ace gets off from the balloon, which was actually a terrorist bomb, and crashes onto the ground, though he's still okay!

The final act of the round wraps up with the Leech Seed continuously sucking Thorn's blood for Jinbe. How yummy!

Ace (Jump onto Balloon): [2 EN]
Thorn (Dig)
Jinbe (Earthquake): [6 EN]
-Vs Cyclost: (7.5+1.5) = [9 DMG]
-Vs Thorn: (7.5+3) = 10.5 ~ [11 DMG]
Cyclost (Night Shade Jinbe): [10 DMG/6 EN]
Thorn (Dig Ace) misses [6 EN]

Post-action:
+3 HP (Jinbe)
-3 HP (Thorn)
Ace jumps off the balloon and does 2 self-damage.

Apparently LightWolf has the upper hand from this round. rickheg is sadly at a huge HP disadvantage, but can he find a way to twist the battle around? Let's see how!

Okay Ace that worked out really well last round, so lets try the same setup a bit different though. Start by using your monkey business again, Eevee will sure be Tormented by this sight, enough to be unable to use Dig. When done release another Wave of Heat, nearly the same targets. Finish it by Breaking Eevee into little Bricks. Should Eevee have fainted by your last action, hit Dusclops with a Shadow Claw.

Torment Eevee's Dig ~ Heat Wave Eevee Dusclops and a balloon near Dusclops ~ Brick Break Eevee/If Eevee fainted then Shadow Claw Dusclops

Jinbe, lucks was on our side till now, so knowing our luck we aren't gonna be doing much the next few turns. Start with another Rock Slide, whatever Dusclops is gonna do isn't gonna be nice, and I'd like to have chance of stoping it. After that lets try something new, use Sand Tomb aimed at Eevee, the additional damage will be nice if it survives. For your last action you should be able to move freely, so go for a Dragon Claw aimed at Eevee, should Eevee be already knocked out, reaim at Dusclops instead.

Rock Slide Eevee Dusclops and a balloon near Dusclops ~ Sand Tomb Eevee ~ Dragon Claw Eevee/if Eevee is out of the game aim at Dusclops

Thorn is still Taunted, right? Fixed.

Alright guys, we need to use this arena to our advantage.

Cyclost! Shadow Sneak and pop balloons next to Ace, then Jinbe. The nature of your attack should protect you from whatever comes out of those balloons. On your last action, Night Shade Ace.

Thorn, there isn't much you have in the way of options... but we can Quick Attack Ace, then we can use Facade on Ace, and then Quick Attack him again.

Round 2: Revenge of the Balloons?

Thorn finally realizes that she's not doing much and just quickly attacks Ace with all her muscle, which isn't really much, sad to say. Well, it was very adaptable, but that's that. Cyclost hastily shuffles through his shadows and sneaks to a random balloon near Ace. With a light tap, it POPS and what have we got here? Nothing. Nada. Zip zero! Bad luck there man! Anyway, how much tricks does one little monkey have? A lot! And that's where Ace's specialty comes in! Right at Thorn, Ace Torments the little sucker into a haunting circle of twisted dreams and whatnot. As for Jinbe, well, isn't he a lucky punk! He has his eyes locked right into the center of Cyclost and Thorn and there he launches an epic Rock Slide that smashes both Pokemon hard! A poor balloon was a victim of the attack and it immediately pops out... nothing.

The Leech Seed just keep sucking Thorn's thorns dry! Jinbe must be one lucky man!

Thorn (Quick Attack Ace): (4+3+2+3) = [12 DMG/2 EN]
Cyclost (Shadow Sneak Balloon): [2 EN]
1 balloon popped - unleashes nothing
Ace (Torment Thorn): [10 EN]
Jinbe (Rock Slide): [6 EN]
-Vs Cyclost: (6+1.5) = 7.5 ~ [8 DMG]
-Vs Thorn: (6+3) = [9 DMG]
1 balloon popped - unleashes nothing

Post-action:
+3 HP (Jinbe)
-3 HP (Thorn)

Not liking the nothingness of last action, Cyclost goes toward Jinbe's zone and Shadow Sneak pops a balloon there instead! Sadly, all there was was empty air. Ace laughs at how all the hard work went to nothing for Cyclost and emits a Heat Wave that crashes into both Cyclost and Thorn. Hmmm! This delightful fiery move has done a number to Thorn! It's as if... she got a huge burn all over her! This also managed to pop two balloons near the couple, and although one had nothing, the other one had a Stun Spore that immediately starts inflicting Cyclost with paralysis! Well, good thing he's already a slow bum and he already moved! Thorn, on the other hand, feels a bit hotter than usual and smacks Ace with a boosted Facade! Ah! Jinbe seems a bit drunk this action! He's totally looking at the wrong direction and throws a Sand Tomb into a random balloon, popping it and making spores asplode! This was so hurtful to the little dragon's mind that he hurt himself in confusion! Afterward, Jinbe seems to be so used to the confusion that he snapped out of confusion!

Leech Seed? Yeah! It's still doing its naughty business of life leeching Thorns, who is on the verge of death!

Cyclost (Shadow Sneak Balloon): [6 EN]
1 balloon popped - unleashes nothing
Ace (Heat Wave): [6 EN]
-Vs Cyclost: (7.5+3+0) = 10.5 ~ [11 DMG]
-Vs Thorn: (7.5+3+0) = 10.5 ~ [11 DMG]
2 balloon popped - 1 unleashes Stun Spore onto Cyclost, while the other one did nothing
Thorn (Facade Ace): (14+3+2+3-3) = [19 DMG/7 EN]
Jinbe (Hit Self): (4+3) = [7 DMG/3 EN]

Post-action:
+3 HP (Jinbe)
-3 HP (Thorn)

-2 HP (Thorn)

Thorn has 8 HP by this point.

Knowing that her fate is doomed, Thorn launches a final attack onto Ace as quick as possible. The burn negates some of the blow, but at least damage is damage! Ace just shrugs the hit off and retaliates by grabbing Thorn on her head and smacking it with a Brick Break! Oh no! From the lethal blow, Thorn is immediately sent flying into the air and blammoed onto the ground, fainted! Jinbe sees the signal of switching targets and affirms the command. His eyes turn red toward Cyclost and he slashes his Dragon Claws through the ghost, though the ghost's endurance seems to be great enough to withstand the hit well! Oh! For some odd reason, Jinbe's feet are bleeding! He must have step on some Spikes! Poor dragon! Cyclost struggles with controlling the paralysis he had receive from last action, but at the end, he frees himself from the chains and manages to create a Night Shade of himself that overshadows Ace and makes him excrete. Scary!

Due to Thorn's faint, the Leech Seed vanishes into thin magic as if it never existed.

Thorn (Quick Attack Ace): (4+3+2+3-3) = [9 DMG/2 EN]
Ace (Brick Break Thorn): (8+1.5) x 1.5 = [14 DMG/6 EN]
Jinbe (Dragon Claw Cyclost): (8+3+1.5) = [13 DMG/5 EN]
-Jinbe accidentally steps on some Spikes for 5 damage!
Cyclost (Night Shade Ace): [10 DMG/6 EN]

Ouch! One Pokemon fallen for rickheg's side and a close-to-dead Duskull clinging to life! As for LightWolf, well, his monkey is definitely quite weakened, but his monster of a dragon is still ready to go at a minute's notice! Hopefully rickheg's next Pokemon can turn the tables here!

First things first, Jinbe never Shadow Clawed Dusclops, the order for that case was Dragon Claw, not Shadow Claw.

Okay Ace, no one sleeps on your watch, it's time to do your monkey dance a an Eevee one last time, Taunt him good, it might be the only thing you do... Alas I believe you will survive till the next action, so we have to do some nice damage here, unleash one last Heat Wave and try to pop some balloons on that Eevee while at it. You have done your job but if you are still around that works too, launch another Heat Wave, little creativity yes, but don't worry about that, just rest after this, you did well...

Taunt Eevee ~ Heat Wave Eevee Dusclops and a balloon near Eevee ~ Repreat last action

Jinbe you did well avoiding confusion till now, and for that I thank you. Now this rround Ace is leaving us so try to make up for that by showing your power. I can understand your Rage Jinbe, don't keep it inside you Out with with!

Round 3: One Ace of an Outrage!

rickheg returns his fallen Thorn and sends out... another Eevee? This is Psyjump! How will he make a difference in this battle? Let's see!

Cyclost seems able to control his paralysis this action and immediately sneaks upon Ace with his haunting shadows. The attack hits as if Ace were completely unaware of the attack! Ace instead focuses his attention on the newcomer - Psyjump - and Taunts his face with insults and weird movements. Uh-oh! This means Psyjump can't open her mouth to Yawn! what a trick! Jinbe, way too excited for combat, goes in an OUTRAGE! and thrashes Psyjump with all his strength.

Cyclost (Shadow Sneak Ace): (4+3+3) = [10 DMG/2 EN]
Ace (Taunt Thorn): [10 EN]
Psyjump (Yawn Jinbe): [Cannot do so]
Jinbe (Outrage Psyjump): (12+3+3) = [18 DMG/7 EN]

Infuriated to do anything else, Cyclost just keeps Shadow Sneaking away at Ace and chipping his HP in quarters. Ace is now starting to feel the pain piling up within him as his Blaze activated! He then lets loose a terrifying Heat Wave that smacks both Cyclost and Psyjump some chickenbob! This manages to pop two balloons, but their contents were completely nothing. Recovering from the raging flames, Psyjump heads into combat and throws a Shadow Ball at the severely weakened Ace, who cannot withstand the might of the special attack. He wobbles like a walking dead man... and collapses into a faint! This enrages Ace's partner - Jinbe - even more as he crushes Psyjump once again with his Outrage!

Cyclost (Shadow Sneak Ace): (4+3+3) = [10 DMG/6 EN]
Ace (Heat Wave): [6 EN]
-Vs Cyclost: (7.5+3+0) = 10.5 ~ [11 DMG]
-Vs Psyjump: (7.5+3+0) = 10.5 ~ [11 DMG]
2 balloon popped - both did nothing
Psyjump (Shadow Ball Ace): (8+1.5) = [10 DMG/6 EN]
Jinbe (Outrage Psyjump): (12+3+3) = [18 DMG/7 EN]

With Ace out of the book, you'd think things would be easier for rickheg. However, that is quite the opposite! The unordered Cyclost remains in silence, awaiting his execution to come. Psyjump, on the other hand, prepares a Shadow Ball and thrusts it into Jinbe's soul, albeit for little damage. All this did was anger Jinbe... to attack Cyclost! OUTRAAAAAAAAAAGE! Oh no! Cyclost, despite his defenses that rival the Great Wall of China, falls from the attack and faints in misery!

Cyclost (No order)
Psyjump (Shadow Ball Jinbe): (8+1.5) = [10 DMG/10 EN]
Jinbe (Outrage Cyclost): (12+3+1.5) = [17 DMG/7 EN]

It looks like the match has truly been decided. LightWolf has a completely healthy Pokemon in his capable hands while rickheg has only one Pokemon remaining! Jinbe may have confused himself for 3 actions, but surely this fresh Pokemon will knock some sunshine into rickheg's Pokemon!

Okay Greed, it's time for you to shine at last. Work your Magic a little while at it.

So lets not underestimate that Eevee, we shall go for a sure win. First Greed, since you are both slower set up some Tricks in this Room, that should shift the order in our favour. Follow up by lowering his attacking options, time to go to the Prison Eevee. Finish it off by Psyshocking Psyjump.

Trick Room ~ Imprison Shadow Ball and Toxic ~ Psyshock

Jinbe, lets avange our fallen comrade, who has fought alongside you before falling. Start by using Sand Tomb to hopefully rack up damage should you end up confused. After that you should now outspeed Eevee so lets Dragon Claw it a bit. Since you are unlikely to ever make your last move being confused, just go for Iron Tail, to mix things up a bit. Should you however be confused in action trying to use Sand Tomb, push all your actions back by one(so if he is confused twice, he would use Sand Tomb thrid action).

Sand Tomb ~ Dragon Claw ~ Iron Tail
Push back actions by one each time he is confused when using Sand Tomb

Well Psyjump, there's not much we can do here. We gotta rely on hax here. A lot of hax. Start by using Shadow Ball on Greed. We're gonna target him, and hope confusion does our work for us with Jinbe. And since I think we're still Taunted for the rest of this round, there isn't much we can do :( Just Quick Attack Greed twice to end the round. I really need to evolve you guys as soon as I can :/

Round 4: Psyjump Away!

2v1, with one severely weakened. This isn't looking good!

Hopelessly, Psyjump jumps into action and tosses a Shadow Ball at Greed, which does hit super effectively. However, it's not enough to fade the threat away... plus the threat that is Jinbe! Jinbe manages to overcome his confusion for the action and toss a Sand Tomb to surround Psyjump with. The thick clouds of dust swirl and swirl and devastate the little creature. Greed stays on the support side and sets up a shady Trick Room that reverses the dimensions of reality!

The sands decide to whisk away at Psyjump's HP, if only slightly. It'll add up though!

Psyjump (Shadow Ball Greed): (8+1.5) x 1.5 = 14.25 ~ [14 DMG/6 EN]
Jinbe (Sand Tomb): (4+3+3) = [10 DMG/3 EN]
Greed (Trick Room): [9 EN]

-2 HP (Psyjump)

Now surrounded by the swirling terrors of the sand, Psyjump - how would you put this - manages to Quickly Attack through the Sand Tomb and smack Greed with a light hit. The swirling sands are not forgotten though as they quickly suck Psyjump right back in! Greed laughs at the weakling and Imprisons him further, eliminating his use for Shadow Ball and Toxic. Jinbe has no idea what he's doing this action as he scraps himself with his draconic claws in confusion! This little smack in the head knocks his confusion counter lower, thus clearing his mind of confusion! Well, at least you're not as confused as me anymore, that's for sure!

Afterward, the sands wheeze through and some of them get into Psyjump's mouth, making him barf out wet sand. Yuck!

Psyjump (Quick Attack Greed): (4+3+2-1.5) = 7.5 ~ [8 DMG/2 EN]
Greed (Imprison): [7 EN]
Jinbe (Hit Self): (4+3) = [7 DMG/3 EN]

-2 HP (Psyjump)

At last, the final action arrives to the scene, but there's nothing out of the ordinary when Psyjump just leaps out to Quick Attack Psyjump as the fox is vacuumed right back in! Greed goes into offensive mode and Psyshocks Psyjump psychically psy. Then, from behind, Jinbe leaps onto Psyjump and smashes him with his Iron Tail, whose properties of steel manage to knock out Psyjump cold! As Psyjump thuds down onto the floor, cold, the balloons in the arena start popping randomly and explode into colorful fireworks in sight of LightWolf's victory. There's even a phrase written within the white sky - "CONGRATULATIONS LIGHTWOLF!" Well done, battlers! We're done!

Psyjump (Quick Attack Greed): (4+3+2-1.5) = 7.5 ~ [8 DMG/6 EN]
Greed (Psyshock): (8+3+4.5) = 15.5 ~ [16 DMG/5 EN]
Jinbe (Iron Tail): (10+3) = [13 DMG/7 EN]
