Need a ref for this. Also, since I have two spare battle slots now, I'm changing the other challenge I issued into two challenges that are identical except for arena:

New challenge #1

2v2 singles
2-day DQ for players, 3-day DQ for ref
Unlimited recoveries and unlimited chills
I will be using fully evolved mons here
Arena: Flavio the Thermal Fish's canyon

The arena is set in a canyon. Non-grass-types cannot use Grass Knot and there is a limit on the external water source (as explained below) but all other moves are legal and unrestricted.

Throughout the battle, Flavio the Thermal Fish will rest in his pool of water. At the end of each action, he will blow hot bubbles on all the pokemon in the arena. This counts as a special multi-hit water-type attack with 2 BP per hit and Flavio's special attack is rank 4. Flavio's attack also has a (5*number of hits)% chance to burn the target.

If Flavio is attacked at all during a round, however, he will not blow bubbles on the battling pokemon for the rest of the round after he is hit, and at the end of the round he'll dive into his pool of water. He will then come up again at the end of the following round and normal service will be resumed. However, while Flavio is underwater, his pool may be used as an external water source for moves like Surf. While Flavio is surfaced, his huge body prevents any pokemon from using his pool of water for anything.

While Flavio is underwater, ice-type attacks can be directed at the pool of water. The pool takes ice damage equal to the base power of the ice-type attack with no modifiers. Once the pool takes a total of 30 ice damage, it freezes over, making the pool unusable as an external water source and preventing Flavio from interfering for the rest of the battle.

Moxie (DW UNLOCKED): (Innate) This Pokemon gets psyched after it earns a KO on an opposing Pokemon, increasing its attack by one (1) stage. This boost is maintained at the end of each round.

I'll start off with Ursula the Jellicent. As well as the general use for her Cursed Body, her Water Absorb should protect her from Flavio's attacks.

And she will hold a Pecha Berry.

oh yeah, does Flavio get STAB? i have it as "no" for this reffing.

also idk if flavio gets blocked by protect or not. since it says "end of action", i'm assuming not.

also also no idea if pain split gets the additional energy cost against pain splitting against a protect but i'm assuming not.

Round 1

Nappa goes headfirst into battle and slams a super accurate Thunder into Ursula's jelly while the silly jellyfish relaxes her body from the annoying sparks and quickly sets up a decent 20 HP Substitute. From the canyon's pool of water pops Flavio, who quickly sprays heated bubbles to both Nappa and Ursula! It's obvious that the bubbles favored Ursula much more as they quickly combine into the jelly's blob due to Water Absorb! As for Nappa, well, he's a victim!

Ha! it seems like Nappa has a "who cares" face on him as he fires a Thunderbolt right onto Ursula, which happens to deal just enough damage to destroy it! Out comes an angry Ursula who summons a Shadow Ball that smashes into Nappa's face. All of a sudden, Flavio steps in once again like the meany he is and spreads bubbles into Nappa and Ursula, hurting the poison ghost and healing the watery ghost.

The last actions arrive and Nappa... has a change of actions! He immediately puts up a Protect to shield himself from whatever Ursula is doing, which happens to be an attempt on Pain Splitting! What an amazing failure that was! Flavio doesn't like the inaction and sprays more bubbles at these silly fools.

Round 2

Nappa certainly isn't leaving his life to chance as he quickly Endures himself into a tight bide. Unaware of this ability, Ursula just fires off a Shadow Ball that slams into Nappa with incredible force. Not liking the boringness of the action, Flavio pops out and sprays a huge amount of heated bubbles toward Ursula, who loves them, and Nappa, who HATES them. Looks like the bubbles have made their mark on Nappa as they incinerate into a heavy glow of burn!

The two contenders just exchange fire, with Ursula firing a quite fierce Brine attack and Nappa conjuring a Thunder from the skies that spark everywhere. No crit, no paralysis though. Flavio keeps its pressure on the two and forcefully sprays more bubbles toward the two, popping as they go. At last, it seems Nappa has taken all the punishment he could've took and succumbs to the mighty burn of Flavio.

Round 3

Putting on a strong face for the terribleness that was last round, Terrador calls back his fainted Gengar and kicks a out a more reliable Molly the Crobat! Or is she?

Thinking she can abuse broken mechanics, Molly Flys into the air and waits for Ursula to miss. Instead, Ursula just calmly puts a Substitute of 25 HP up as Molly looks down like an idiot. She decides to just dive back down and smack it with all her might, but it doesn't break. The lonely Flavio fish decides he doesn't have enough attention and shoots flaming bubbles at Molly and Ursula.

Yet again, Molly Flys into the air and awaits Ursula's move. However... Ursula seems to be preparing a Trick and Molly just has to attack first! There she flings her body into the Substitute and cracks it open with a critical hit to reveal... a Super Scald! Oh! The burn! The burn! It hurts! There actually isn't a burn there. Flavio joins in the scalding fun and plops warm bubbles are both contenders.

Seeing how Ursula has to cool off from the amazing combo, Molly just Flys into the air and strikes the jellyfish with all her might. At this exact moment, Ursula's Cursed Body activates and Disables Fly for 6 actions! Flavio really doesn't like the inactivity and fires bubbles toward both foes, popping heat as they go.

Round 4

Thinking she's cool at tripping people and stuff, Molly fires a Confuse Ray that wraps itself around Ursula and eventually causes her to be confused for 3 actions! Aha! This causes Ursula to hit herself in confusion! After the oddity, she seems less confused, but... she's still confused. Darn. Both targets are then sprayed by Flavio's very warm bubbles of doom... or yumminess in Ursula's part.

Now Molly goes in and slashes the air to strike Molly with. It did decent damage... but it didn't flinch. Additionally, Ursula isn't even feeling the effects of the confusion and strikes Molly with a desperate Brine attack, which hits for major damage... though ultimately depletes Ursula's energy pool and causes her to faint! The round wraps up with one last touch of warm, hot, sexy bubbles from Flavio that blast Molly a new one.
