Here we are in a calm clearing, where nobody would even think of disturbing the peace with a pokemon battle. Oh wait, I forgot we had Rising_Dusk. So yeah, Rising_Dusk has dragged TEA_DEMON out here for a battle. The soothing effects of the clearing have made all-out offence more hard work than normal and non-damaging moves easier to execute. How will this affect the match?

Well, it looks like Chatot's beginning by creating a decoy. The Substitute Chatot should take any blows directed at the real one. And some blows start coming in. Vanden coughs a cloud of Toxic gas in the substitute's face, but substitutes can't breathe so that has no effect. Cream emits a Thunder Wave that hits the substitute, but substitutes can't move so that also has no effect. What does have an effect is Igglybuff's Toxic attack on Mayhem. There's no way she can miss him with a cloud that size. Treecko, getting tired of all this namby-pamby non-attacking crap, demonstrates his Acrobatics by cartwheeling and diving into Vanden. Mayhem grabs some rocks that happen to be lying around (because you're sure to find rocks in a forest clearing somewhere) and uses them to make a Rock Slide over Rising_Dusk's pokemon, dealing a bit of damage to Treecko, landing a critical hit on Igglybuff and almost destroying Chatot's pesky substitute. But then the toxins inside him start taking their toll on him.

Looks like those last two moves changed the pace of the battle entirely, as now all the pokemon are trying to dish out as much pain as possible. But Chatot picks up his substitute and begins to Fly up high while Treecko starts to Dig underground. As a result of these evasive manoeuvres, Vanden's Venoshock, Mayhem's Ice Punch and Cream's Flamethrower all miss their intended targets. Igglybuff's Flamethrower, on the other hand, roasts Vanden. And as if that wasn't bad enough for the Venonat, he then has to face Chatot's aerial assault and Treecko's underground attack! Amazingly, Vanden hangs in there.

The next round begins with Vanden emitting some Rage Powder all over Rising_Dusk's pokemon, causing them to hate the Venonat with a passion. But before any of them can do anything, Mayhem charges in with an Aqua Jet and destroys Chatot's substitute, while Cream successfully paralyses him with a Thunder Wave. Igglybuff was going to try and surprise Mayhem, but she feels compelled to give Vanden a Sweet Kiss instead ... only she misses completely. Chatot Chatters to him, causing him to feel rather confused, but that doesn't last long as Treecko finishes up with some stunning Acrobatics that knock the Venonat out for good.

But then Treecko feels the need to go on the defensive and plants some Leech Seeds on Mayhem just before being hit by another Thunder Wave from Cream. Mayhem charges in with an Ice Punch that, this time, hits the real Chatot for some decent damage, while Chatot squawks with his Hyper Voice, bursting the eardrums of Cream and Mayhem. Igglybuff finishes up by gently Pounding Mayhem, who continues to suffer from poison and now Leech Seed too.

The round begins with some cheering. Cream calls for an Encore of Treecko's last move, while Chatot calls for an Encore of Cream's encore! Taking advantage of the applause, Igglybuff lands a Sweet Kiss on Mayhem, who gets so confused by it that he hits himself! Treecko plants some more Leech Seeds on him but they don't increase the healing.

Cream's second Encore of the round ends up being ineffective as well, and Treecko continues to waste his energy firing Leech Seeds. Igglybuff makes a Wish to Arceus, but it seems that Arceus misheard her and is offering to heal her in a short while rather than Chatot. Mayhem, now feeling less confused, lands another Ice Punch on Chatot, who responds by shrieking with his Hyper Voice. And suddenly the two encores have come to an end.

Yeah, Rising_Dusk, I checked the data audit thread's description for Wish and the description of the new Wish being implemented, and unlike Healing Wish and Baton Pass, there is nothing saying you can use Wish on an ally in doubles/triples. Maybe you should bring that up in the next SotG. Either way, it's your turn now.

(The thing is, Wish never works on a Pokemon, Wish works on a battle position. Since positioning is off for this battle, I can Wish wherever I want in the battle and have it heal anyone. That is, to me, a logical extension of how the move works. If you don't feel that way, then whatever.

Furthermore, Clefairy is still Encored for 1 action since my Encore was before his action. Also, Treecko should be immune to Encore for 1 action, not Chatot. My actions will assume that you fix this, just as a heads up.)

Cream the Clefairy calls for another Encore but Treecko is just not interested this time. But Chatot appears to be discussing something with Igglybuff, and it looks like the two of them have swapped positions. Perhaps this is a way of tricking Arceus into granting Igglybuff's wish on Chatot? Only time will tell. Igglybuff, meanwhile, gives Mayhem another Sweet Kiss that makes him feel weird ... so weird that he hits himself in confusion. But in doing so, he regains his senses quickly ... just in time to see Treecko Absorb some of his vitality.

Mayhem, now with only anger on the mind, hits Chatot with an Ice Punch that freezes him completely! Well, that is until Cream breathes fire all over him with Flamethrower. The now-thawed Chatot screams with his Hyper Voice again, this time hurting Mayhem so much that he calls it quits. Cream will have to finish the job by herself, but with Treecko's Acrobatics and Igglybuff's own Flamethrower hitting her, can she even knock out one of Rising_Dusk's pokemon?
