[Overview]

Buizel's stats are better than most Pokemon, and its Water-typing makes it only weak to Grass- and Electric-type attacks. Buizel pairs those stats with a great movepool that lets it get past many Little Cup Pokemon. Unfortunately for the sea weasel, every advantage comes with a downside, which would be its terribly low defenses. Buizel is better used in the rain, as one of its abilities, Swift Swim, doubles its Speed when the skies are open. With its great ability to sweep and 38 Speed in the rain, Buizel can be a great addition to a team.

[SET]
name: Life Orb
move 1: Aqua Tail
move 2: Return
move 3: Hidden Power Fire
move 4: Aqua Jet
item: Life Orb
ability: Water Veil
nature: Jolly
evs: 236 Atk / 240 Spe
ivs: 30 Def / 30 SpA / 30 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Aqua Tail, Buizel's strongest physical STAB attack, can 2HKO many more Pokemon than Waterfall can, namely Scraggy and bulky Mienfoo. Aqua Jet gives Buizel a STAB priority attack that can revenge kill most Pokemon, but Buizel must watch out for Lileep and its ability, Storm Drain, as it will often switch in to absorb the attack. Return has the ability to 2HKO Eviolite Staryu, but comes up short against Eviolite Chinchou at full HP. Buizel running a Jolly nature can 2HKO Ferroseed with Hidden Power Fire without a Life Orb. If you decide not to use Hidden Power Fire, it frees up 36 EVs that could go into Buizel's lacking Special Defense stat. A Swords Dance pass is very appreciated, as it makes Buizel a much bigger threat.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Crunch is a viable option, as it is a more reliable move to OHKO full HP non Eviolite Gastly, but the frequency of Eviolite Gastly makes it a lot less useful. Iron Tail can be used to 2HKO Lileep, in which case the rest of the EVs should be placed in Special Defense, but it has poor accuracy and cannot be used with Water Veil. Brick Break, unfortunately, is unable to 2HKO Lileep and Ferroseed at full health. Ice Punch does not 2HKO most Eviolite Grass-types, such as Foongus, Cottonee, and Lileep, and is also illegal with Water Veil. The EV spread maximizes Buizel's Speed stat, and increases its Attack, while the rest is put into Special Attack. Buizel with maximum Speed is able to outspeed non-Choice Scarf Gastly. Snover is a good partner, as it resists Electric- and Grass-type attacks aimed at Buizel, can 2HKO Lileep, and can OHKO Foongus and Cottonee after Stealth Rock and hail damage. Chinchou hard-counters this set if Buizel is not running Hidden Power Grass thanks to Chinchou's typing and STAB Thunderbolt. If a Choice Scarf Snover switches into a Waterfall or Aqua Jet, it can easily OHKO Buizel with a STAB Giga Drain or Energy Ball.

[SET]
name: Choice Band
move 1: Waterfall / Aqua Tail
move 2: Return
move 3: Switcheroo / Brick Break
move 4: Aqua Jet / Switcheroo
item: Choice Band
ability: Water Veil
nature: Jolly
evs: 236 Atk / 36 SpD / 236 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Waterfall can now 2HKO Scraggy and bulky Mienfoo with the boost from the Choice Band, but Aqua Tail's extra power is always appreciated since both Fighting-types have Drain Punch. Return 3HKOs Chinchou, even the RestTalk set, which usually only has Scald as its attacking move. Buizel must watch out for Thunder Wave, though. Brick Break usually 2HKOs Eviolite Ferroseed and Lileep. Switcheroo can cripple counters to Buizel, such as Slowpoke, Lileep, Staryu, and Chinchou, all of which are special sweepers. It will even beat Scraggy and Mienfoo, as it can lock them into an undesired move and take away their Eviolite.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Ice Punch, although illegal with Water Veil, can now 2HKO Lileep, Foongus, and non-Cotton Guard Cottonee, although Buizel must watch out for Giga Drain. Crunch can 2HKO Frillish and can OHKO Eviolite Gastly at full HP. Magnemite is a good partner, as it resists Electric- and Grass-type attacks aimed at Buizel, while countering bulky Water-types not named Chinchou. Chinchou can absorb Electric-type attacks and can counter bulky Water-types as well. Snover still counters this set with a STAB Giga Drain.

[SET]
name: Baton Passer
move 1: Baton Pass
move 2: Bulk Up
move 3: Agility
move 4: Waterfall
item: Eviolite
ability: Swift Swim
nature: Jolly
evs: 76 HP / 196 SpD / 236 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

This set is excellent for Baton Passing boosts to a potential physical sweeper. Bulk Up provides not only boosts to Attack, but also to Defense, which can be essential in a Baton Pass chain. Agility provides boosts to Speed, and this is mandatory in a Baton Pass team, or if you only want to set up a sweeper. Waterfall is in the last spot so that Buizel can actually deal damage to the opposing Pokemon. In this set, Buizel reaches 19 Speed, outspeeding almost every non-scarfed Pokemon.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

With the given EVs and an Eviolite, Buizel will usually survive a Modest Chinchou's Thunderbolt at full HP, which means Buizel can get a single boost to Baton Pass, even against a Scarf Chinchou. The given EVs maximize Speed, raise Attack and Defense by one point, and Special Defense by two, averaging out its stats. Physical sweepers have a tough time against this set, as their attacks won't do nearly as much if Buizel uses Bulk Up a couple of times. Chinchou walls this set hard, as its Thunderbolt will do major damage to Buizel and Buizel can only strike back with a weak Waterfall. Again, Chinchou and Magnemite are good partners for both resisting Electric-type attacks.

[Other Options]

Toxic can be used in the Life Orb set but not the Choice Band set, as it already has Switcheroo to harm its walls. Buizel can run Quick Attack to revenge kill anything at low health, but Aqua Jet does more damage except against Lileep, Frillish, and other Pokemon that resist Water-type attacks. Buizel could run Mud Slap to lower an opponent's accuracy so that it can't hit it, but it is generally luck-based, weak, and it doesn't hit Flying-types.

[Checks and Counters]

Chinchou counters Buizel hard with a STAB Thunderbolt, and Slowpoke walls all of Buizel's attacks and can then cripple it with Toxic or Thunder Wave. Without a Choice Band, Buizel is countered by Lileep, taking huge damage from its Energy Ball. Ferroseed can Leech Seed Buizel and alternate between Protect and Spikes, even if it is against the Choice Band set. Choice Scarf Magnemite can OHKO Buizel with a STAB Thunderbolt.

Buizel, not Buizle.
It has great speed and good offenses but like NO defense. I would say mixed sets and like maybe Band with HP Fire to slap around Ferroseed (Bulk Up Sub Punch! Haha) because Staryu pretty much does special better. Possibly. I'm not the most experienced player

A Choice Band set is still viable

Buizel @ Choice Band
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 236 Attack/36 Special Defense/ 236 Speed
Nature: Jolly
- Aqua Jet
- Return
- Brick Break
- Ice Punch

Aqua Jet is for priority, Return and Aqua Jet work well together. Brick Break is for Scraggy and Pawniard and Ice Punch hits Grass-type threats like Cottonee for super effective damage.

Good start, but after discussing this with other QC members on IRC, the current sets need some changes.

First, the Life Orb set should be this:

[SET]
name: Life Orb
move 1: Aqua Tail
move 2: Return
move 3: Hidden Power Fire
move 4: Aqua Jet
item: Life Orb
ability: Water Veil
nature: Jolly
EVs: 236 Atk / 240 Spe
IVs: 30 Def / 30 SpA / 30 Spe

- Change: Aqua Tail over Waterfall, Return over Brick Break, remove Hidden Power Grass as a slash as it doesn't even 2HKO Eviolite Chinchou, change the order of moves, Water Veil (for future reference, just leave the ability slot blank if all abilities are viable, but in this case Water Veil is superior), max Attack (36 Def doesn't raise the stat anyway), change the IVs for HP Fire with 30 Def instead of 30 Atk.

- Aqua Tail gets several 2HKOs that it can't get with Waterfall, namely vs. Scraggy and Bulky Mienfoo, who both have 21 HP / 21 Def (after Eviolite): 10 - 13 -> Average of 12 damage

- Return gets the 2HKO on 36 HP Eviolite Staryu (20 HP / 18 Def): 9 - 11 -> Average of 10 damage, but fails to 2HKO Eviolite Chinchou at full HP.

- Even with a Jolly nature, Hidden Power Fire 2HKOs Ferroseed (even without Life Orb), doing 16 - 20 damage on a standard 23 HP Ferroseed.

- Additional Comments: Crunch fails to 2HKO 236 HP / 196 Def Calm Eviolite Frillish and it isn't common at all anymore, but it gives you a more accurate and surefire way to OHKO non Eviolite Gastly at full HP. Iron Tail is an option over Hidden Power Fire (in which case you should place the leftover EVs in SpD) to 2HKO Lileep, but it has 75% accuracy and is illegal with Water Veil.

- Notes: Brick Break fails to 2HKO Lileep and Ferroseed at full HP, Ice Punch is illegal with Water Veil and fails to 2HKO most Eviolite Grass-types such as Foongus, Cottonee (especially with Cotton Guard), and Lileep again. Most of those Grass-types are uncommon, however.

--

A Choice Band set is indeed viable (surprisingly!), in fact I think it should be the main set over Life Orb, because of the so many extra (2H)KOs it can achieve with it, Switcheroo, and because Staryu can arguably do the Life Orb set better:

[SET]
name: Choice Band
move 1: Waterfall / Aqua Tail
move 2: Return
move 3: Switcheroo / Brick Break
move 4: Aqua Jet / Switcheroo
item: Choice Band
ability: Water Veil
nature: Jolly
EVs: 236 Atk / 36 SpD / 236 Spe

- Aqua Tail is no longer needed in order to 2HKO Scraggy and Bulky Mienfoo, but its still an option as the extra power helps, especially since Scraggy and Mienfoo can both Drain Punch (although Scraggy would probably just Dragon Dance..)

- Return now 2HKOs Eviolite Chinchou (12 damage out of 24 HP on average) and you have a high chance of breaking through ResTalk Chinchou, who usually only have Scald as an attacking move and do an average of 6 damage with it (but watch out for Thunder Wave).

- Switcheroo is an extremely fun move, especially when considering that Choice Band extremely detrimental to Buizel's common switch-ins or counters, such as Slowpoke, Lileep, Chinchou, Staryu. It gets even more useful when considering the fact that almost all Pokemon in Little Cup either carry an Eviolite or a Choice Scarf now a days. It will also help you beat Scraggy most of the time, since they will likely attempt to set up on you, so you can just outspeed, Switcheroo a Choice Band and force them into a Choice-locked Dragon Dance. Also, it helps in disabling Eviolite Mienfoo who is extremely hard to get rid of.

- Brick Break now 2HKOs both Ferroseed and Lileep on average.

- Additional Comments: Ice Punch, while still being illegal with Water Veil and having uncommon targets, will now 2HKO several Grass-types that it couldn't before, such as Foongus, Lileep, and non-Cotton Guard Cottonee (but watch out for Giga Drain). Crunch now 2HKOs Frillish (16 damage out of 25 HP) and OHKOs Eviolite Gastly.

--

For the Baton Passer set, change the EVs to 76 HP / 196 SpD / 236 Spe as they're probably the best, when considering what this set's main goal is. You still take the same amount of damage on the physical side (the majority of the time), but since you now have 12 SpD (or 18 SpD after Eviolite), you will now usually survive a Modest max SpA Chinchou's Thunderbolt at full HP. It does 18 - 24 -> Average of 20 Damage, so you can at least pull off one boost then Baton Pass it, even an Agility vs. a Scarf Chinchou.

--

- Other Options: Make sure to mention Toxic, which is better for the Life Orb set, but not as much for the Choice Band set since Switcheroo already screws over walls even more so.

No. Brick Break already 2HKOs (on average but still), and you really don't want to get locked into Hidden Power Fire with only 10 SpA. Also please don't quote a long post, especially when its right above you :/.

edit: It's ok :P.

Use his sets but put his AC ideas into your own words. Make sure to mention teammates on top of what he posted in AC.

For the Switcheroo set, a Flame Orb is viable with Buizel carrying Water Veil. Buizel could possibly run a physically bulky set with Bulk Up, Switcheroo, Waterfall and Return, for instance.

Not really... Buizel doesn't have quite enough bulk to Switcheroo a Flame Orb, even if it's at +1.

Okay, well i updated some of Al's stuff but not done. will edit post when finally done with everything.

Even so, Buizel's fast, so it would make a good Switcheroo user; it can trick a Flame Orb if it has Water Veil, which can be extremely useful, or a Choice Band/Scarf, even.

Choice items are probably the best thing to Switcheroo.

Anyways, last generation LO Buizel with Bulk Up was fairly common. Obviously it has problems this generation due to Slowpoke/Frillish/Ferroseed/Eviolite in general, but I think it warrants some sort of mention somewhere... it could just really use support from Magnemite. Actually, Magnemite makes a decent teammate for any of the sets for its ability to threaten bulky waters that aren't named Chinchou.

You forgot to change the Nature on the Life Orb set to Jolly instead of Naive. Make sure to mention anything over Hidden Power Fire would free up 36 EVs that would go into Special Defense. It would appreciate a Swords Dance pass far more than an Agility pass, since it's a 19 speeder anyway.

On the Choice Band set, Return does NOT 2HKO Restalk Chinchou, but with Scald doing little damage and Water Veil, you have a much higher chance of KOing it before it KOs you.

Some of your wording doesn't make sense, so make sure it's clearer when you write it up, but other than that this looks good.

Aqua Tail, Buizel's strongest physical STAB attack, can 2HKO many much more Pokemon than Waterfall can, namely Scraggy and bulky Mienfoo.[period], which It deals does an average of 12 damage to these two Fighting-types, both of which that run 21 HP. Aqua Jet gives Buizel a STAB priority attack that can revenge kill most Pokemon, but it must watch out for Lileep and its ability, Storm Drain. Return has the ability to 2HKO Eviolite Staryu, but comes up short aganist (an OHKO or 2HKO?) full HP Eviolite Chinchou at full HP. Despite the Jolly nature, Buizel with Hidden Power Fire can 2HKO Ferroseed, a major threat since it resists all the other moves on the set. Buizel running a Jolly nature can 2HKO Ferroseed with Hidden Power Fire without a Life Orb. If you decide not to use Hidden Power Fire, you will have access to it frees up 36 EVs that could go into Buizel's lacking Special Defense stat. A Swords Dance pass is very appreciated, as it would make Buizel a much bigger threat.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Crunch could be a viable option, but it fails to 2HKO max HP and Defense Frillish, which is not very common anymore. It is, though, a much more accurate way to OHKO full max HP non-[hyphen]Eviolite Gastly, but Eviolite Gastly has become more common, so Crunch is less useful. even though Eviolite Gastly have become a lot more common. Iron Tail is a greatd way to 2HKO Lileep, in which case the rest of the EVs should be placed in SpD, but the move it has poor accuracy and is illegal to use with Water Veil. Brick Break, unfortunately, is unable to 2HKO Lileep and Ferroseed at full HP. Ice Punch provides nice coverage alongside Aqua Tail, but does not 2HKO most Eviolite Grass-types, such as Foongus, Cottonee, and Lileep, and is also illegal with Water Veil. The EV spready maximizes Buizel's Speed stat, increases its Attack, bolsters its defenses as much as possible. and the rest is put into Defense. This variant is able to outspeed Gastly without a Choice Scarf. Buizel with maximum Speed is able to outspeed non-Choice Scarf Gastly.

Snover is a good partner, as it resists Electric-[hyphen] and Grass-type attacks aimed at Buizel and can 2HKO Lileep.[period] It also deals with Foongus and Cottonee, KOing them after Stealth Rock and hail damage. and is a guaranteed OHKO against Foongus and Cottonee after Stealth Rock and the hail damage. Pokemon that can set up Rain Dance are not as too useful in light of this set, as Buizel is running Hidden Power Fire, which would be weakened under the effects of rain. on this set because Buizel is running Hidden Power Fire and using Water Veil so that burn will not halve its Attack. Chinchou, because of its typing, walls this set hard if Buizel is not running Hidden Power Grass, and KOs with a STAB Thunderbolt. with its typing and its STAB Thunderblot. If a Choice Scarf Snover switches into a Waterfall or Aqua Jet, it can easily OHKO Buizel with a STAB Giga Drain or Energy Ball.

brief, one sentence summary about this set. Waterfall can now 2HKO Scraggy and bulky Mienfoo with the boost from the Choice Band, but Aqua Tail's extra power is always appreciated since both Fighting-type types have Drain Punch. Return 3HKOs Chinchou, even against the RestTalk set, which usually only has Scald as its attacking move.[period] Because of Water Veil, Buizel is unafraid of burn, but must watch out for a rare Thunder Wave. , but Buizel still must watch out for Thunder Wave. Brick Break 2HKOs Eviolite Ferroseed and Lileep on an average damage roll, and has a nice side effect of breaking screens. Switcheroo can cripple counters to Buizel, such as Slowpoke, Lileep, Staryu, and Chinchou, all of which are special sweepers and don't enjoy a Choice Band; it will even beat Scraggy and Mienfoo, locking them into an undesired move and taking away their Eviolite. which can lock them into an undesired move and take away their Eviolite.

Ice Punch, although illegal with Water Veil, can now 2HKO Lileep, Foongus, and non-Cotton Guard Cottonee (but our swimming weasel it must watch out for its Giga Drain). Crunch can now 2HKO Frillish and can OHKO Eviolite Gastly at full HP. reason why these moves are worse than those above Magnemite is a good partner, as it resists Electric-[hyphen] and Grass-type attacks aimed at Buizel, and can counter bulky Water-typess that are not named Chinchou. [SET COMMENTS]

brief overview of this set goes here. Bulk Up increases the user's Attack and Defense stat, meaning that it would be better to pass the boosts it to a physical sweeper than a special sweeper, such as Gastly. Agility doubles the user's speed, which means that it will help any Pokemon that receives this boost, is Baton Passed with this boost, especially slow walls, such as Lileep and Slowpoke. reason why speed is helpful to everything goes here , although they are both special sweepers. Waterfall is in the last spot so that Buizel can actually deal damage to the opposing Pokemon and not be shut down by Taunt. In this set, With the EVs, Buizel reaches 19 Speed, outpacingspeeding almost every non-scarfed Pokemon.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

With the given EVs and an Eviolite, Buizel at full HP will usually survive a Modest Chinchou's Thunderbolt at full HP, which means Buizel can get a single boost to Baton Pass., even against a Scarf Chinchou. The given EVs then maximize the Speed, raise the Attack and Defense stats by 1 point, and the Special Defense by 2, averaging its stats. Physical sweepers have a tough time against this set, as their its attacks won't do nearly as much if Buizel uses Bulk Up a couple of times. Chinchou walls this set hard, as its Thunderbolt will do major damage to Buizel and Buizel can't do any damage with its Waterfall. Again, Chinchou and Magnemite are good partners for both resisting Electric-type attacks.

[Other Options]

Toxic can be used on in the Life Orb set but not the Choice Band set, as it already has Switcheroo to harm its walls. Buizel could run Quick Attack to revenge kill anything at low health, but Aqua Jet would do more damage, except against accept for Lileep, Frillish, and other Water Absorb users. Buizel could run Mud Slap to lower an opponent's accuracy so that it can't hit it, but it wouldn't do much damage and would fail against Flying-types.

[Checks and Counters]

Chinchou counters Buizel hard and can retaliate with a STAB Thunderbolt. Slowpoke walls all of Buizel's attacks and can then cripple it with Toxic or Thunder Wave. Without a Choice Band, Buizel is walled by against Lileep and its Energy Ball. Ferroseed can Leech Seed Buizel and can alternate between Protect and Spikes, even if it is against the Choice Band set. Choice Scarf Magnemite can OHKO Buizel with a STAB Thunderbolt. maybe mention partners that deal with these things

Bulk Up increases the user's Attack and Defense stat, meaning that it would be better to pass it to a physical sweeper than a special sweeper, such as Gastly. Agility doubles the user's speed, which means that it will help any Pokemon that is Baton Passed with this boost, especially slow walls, such as Lileep and Slowpoke, although they are both special sweepers.

The given EVs maximize the Speed, raise the Attack and Defense by 1 one point, and the Special Defense by 2 two, averaging out its stats. Physical sweepers have a tough time against this set, as its their attacks won't do nearly as much if Buizel uses Bulk Up a couple of times. Chinchou walls this set hard, as its Thunderbolt will do major damage to Buizel and Buizel can't do any damage with its Waterfall can only strike back with a weak Waterfall. Again, Chinchou and Magnemite are good partners for both resisting Electric-type attacks.

[Other Options]
<space>

Toxic can be used in the Life Orb set but not the Choice Band set, as it already has Switcheroo to harm its walls. Buizel could run Quick Attack to revenge kill anything at low health, but Aqua Jet would do more does more damage accept for except against Lileep, Frillish, and other Water Absorb users Pokemon that resist Water-type attacks. Buizel could run Mud Slap to lower an opponent's accuracy so that it can't hit it, but it wouldn't do much damage and would fail against is generally luck-based, weak, and it doesn't hit Flying-types.

[Checks and Counters]
<space>

Chinchou counters Buizel hard with a STAB Thunderbolt., and Slowpoke walls all of Buizel's attacks and can then cripple it with Toxic or Thunder Wave. Without a Choice Band, Buizel is walled against by Lileep and its Energy Ball. Ferroseed can Leech Seed Buizel and can alternate between Protect and Spikes, even if it is against the Choice Band set. Choice Scarf Magnemite can OHKO Buizel with a STAB Thunderbolt.

You're really getting better! Just a few things:
- Re-read your analysis once it's done. You'll notice a lot of mistakes yourself.
- When listing types of Pokemon, do it like so: Water-, Grass-, Electric-, and Fire-types. You must put a hyphen after each type name.
- Use "which" after a comma, and "that" if there isn't a comma before it.

Other than that, you've improved a lot.
Good job!
