Bulky Offense/ Defense

anime-1.gif

The whole Banner was made by me ^

The team Is Made by two things Defense and Offensive thinking.

I have Won over 200 People on Smogon with this team and I want the number to grow more and more
598.png

It started of by My lead I have never used this Pokemon ever for a lead so it was a first for me plus this thing has amazing Defenses and it won it's way into my team

598.png
485.png

Then we needed more defense and a supporter so I selected a awesome supporter He is the main damage taker in the team and his name is Heatran!! This thing had a place in every team back In Gen4 and It has grown to a good Pokemon in Gen5 with it's amazing Defenses.

598.png
485.png
534.png

Now we needed some Sweepers I saw this thing wall every Physical attack and It has massive Attack and Bulk Conelldurr has been In only two of my team and He fitted in this team very well as a late sweeper.

598.png
485.png
534.png

Now we needed a late sweeper and a clean up for my team this thing is way too powerful in a Rain team so I put it in my team To help me against Earthquakes and Hydro Pumps coming my way which would wreck Heatran and Ferrothorn if not checked properly. So Rotom-W fits in this team very well.

485.png
534.png
385.png

Since we got all our Suppoters we needed a Special/Physical Wall.
JIRACHI definitely Fitted in this team It always makes you wanna "LOL" when it fliches your opponents and it also stops annoying stallers that want to annoy this team... That's if staller can even touch this team.

485.png
534.png
385.png
380.png

Now to Fix this team together I included Latias Which is the Special wall of this team. and Helps me get rid of annoying Sweepers which aren't boosted by speed.

nattofs.jpg

Ferrothorn (M) Leftovers
Ability:Iron Barbs
Ev's: 252 hp/208 Sp.Def/ 48 def
Relaxed Nature(+ Def, -Speed)
-Spikes
-Stealth Rock
-Gyro Ball
-Power Whip

This ferrothorn is very useful, as all the others. He is a classical hazard setter. And he is my very successful mixed wall. With Gyro Ball he's got a nice coverage on common taunters. I personally like leech seed more than stealth rocks because he can recover his health back because he does not have any recovery moves. His Gyro ball can be sometimes very powerful that's why this ferrothorn is a problem for every team. He is also useful because he covers the flying type which is the common weakness of conkeldurr . In a nutshell this pokemon is very useful to this team on the defensive and sometimes even on the offensive side.

485Heatran_Dream.png

(Heatran) (M) @ Air Balloon
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Flamethrower
- Toxic
- Protect
- Roar

This set Is a beastly set I use this against stall team because stall team hate My heatran. If your team doesn't have any rapid spinners you're in Deep shit when this things roar your team to death you will wish you had a rapid spinners with it's awesome defenses it can survive many attacks and keep roaring and It can't be status afflicted because it will just survive all attacks and the only main Status move that will affect it is Paralyze, Toxic does nothing to heatran since it resist it and will-wisp boost the power of my fire type attacks. Synchronize users will hate him aswell since I have a resistance to Toxic I will always get away with the attacks against synchronizers. Explosion is if I want to get rid of Boosted pokemon Like DD Dragonite with MS will take a lot off damage from this attack. Flamethrower is just to confuse my opponent to mess up when I keep roaring and they over predict More roar.

conkeldurr_v_2_by_xous54-d38f657.png

Conkeldurr (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Guts
EVs: 120 HP / 252 Atk / 136 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)

- Bulk Up
- Mach Punch
- Drain Punch
- Payback

Conkeldurr is known for that killer attack statistic, period. Without it Conkeldurr wouldn’t see as much usage as it has. With generation 5 came the almighty Fighting types. Fighting now has the same status as Dragons as the feared, all teams carrying at least one Dragon and Fighting resist. The fact that Fighting types are weak to uncommon types (Flying + Psychic) makes it insanely difficult to take down, especially if they’re carrying a form of recovery in their arsenal. Conkeldurr was also blessed with Guts which makes him the perfect candidate to switch into Scald from bulky Waters and wreak havoc. Conkeldurr still has its troubles with Flying as Psychic types seeing as how he has to rely on Drain Punch to handle them and also the fact it only comes with a few PP. However luckily for him most Psychic and Flying Pokemon (with the exception of Sigilyph) tend to be rather fragile and easy to handle.

The only thing that Conkeldurr lacks is speed which it more than makes up for under Reuniclus’ Trick Room. Not only will he get the Bulk Up first but he won’t have to use Mach Punch seeing as how Drain Punch will almost certainly go first. I still keep Mach Punch around though simply because Conkeldurr doesn’t require Trick Room to sweep an entire team. With Mach Punch as priority, Conkeldurr can still OHKO some of the fastest threats in the game. However it is Jolly Excadrill which I need him to handle. I need his Mach Punch to prevent an opposing Excadrill sweep. Drain Punch offers a form of recovery and hits hard considering the pros that come with it. Being slow comes in handy in this situation because he is able to steal back any HP that a fellow Drain Punch’er / Giga Drain’er has stolen. If you have no faith in Conkeldurr, Conkeldurr will have no faith in you. We all know and fear Terrakion’s STAB moves but not so much Scrafty’s. He actually sits at around the same speed statistic as Tyranitar.

rotomwash.png

Rotom-W @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 116 HP / 252 SAtk / 140 Spd
Timid Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Trick
- Thunder Bolt
- Hydro Pump
- Volt switch
Rotom is one of the best bulky sweepers in the whole entire metagame,
I chose the ChoiceSpecs Trick set which does so much damage to even Blissey.
He sweeps early and if You want to use this set you need to be very smart at switching and he is great coverage to study your opponents movement in the battle.

Jirachi-1.gif

Jirachi @ Leftover
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP/ 118 def /188 SpDef
Careful Nature ( +SPDef -SpA)
- Iron Head
- Fire Punch
- Ice Punch
_ Thunderwave

This set isn't standard but it is my own creation. Ice punch is for Dragons, Fire punch destroys other ferrothorn and opposing Steel types. I Flinch all my opponents like mad when I get a chance to Parahax all day plus if I get to low health I stall the game by flinching my opponents non stop. With incredible bulk and few weaknesses It will stall you forever.

latias.png

Latias @ Leftover
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP/ 252 SPe/ 252 SpA
Timid nature (+Spe -Atk)
- Dragon Pulse
- Roar
- Calm Mind
- Recover

Ahh the ole Latias this thing is impossible to go down at full hp because it's speed it so good it will 2HKO or OHKO anythig after one or two calm mind. This thing walls every attacks and It helps me in a late game sweeps if it isn't alone but It will always ko everytime it comes in. I don't really mind if i have to switch after two or 3 Calm minds because it will sweep if you give it a huge a chance to Calm mind.

pokemon-fanart-1.jpg

So this is my team It took a while to set it than to make my first RMT.
Once you put your guard off it is GG Give me a lot off feedback and help this if the team is already good you can still say nice team.
Also Tell me some of the teams threats.

The Team and Conclusion Banner art all made by me.

Hey there. Cool team; also nice banner :]

First off, you can't have Spikes + Stealth Rock + Leech Seed on Ferrothorn; it's an illegal combination. Replace Leech Seed with Power Whip. This will allow you to have more than one attack and stop you from running out of Gyro Ball PP; Power Whip also provides a good STAB attack that allows you to destroy pokemon such as Quagsire and Gastrodon.

Explosion is basically useless nowadays, especially if you don't have any attack investment. Replace Explosion on Heatran with Protect. Protect is very good for scouting, and will allow you to gain extra Leftovers recovery. Also, run Lava Plume over Flamethrower on Heatran. This will let you burn enemies and make even pokemn that resist it think twice about switching in to Heatran.

One major problem for this team is that you do not have any real physical wall. To fix this problem, replace Jirachi with a Gliscor. This will allow you to wall common threats such as Excadrill and stop making you have to rely on revenge killing it. You can also destroy many other pokemon, especially Conkelldur, who can basically wreck your entire team.

Swords Dance Gliscor
Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 Speed
Impish Nature
- Taunt
- Swords Dance
- Ice Fang
- Earthquake

SD Gliscor is a fearsome tank, being able to wreck teams that are shred for it pretty easily. Taunt is chosen over Protect seeing as you lack a Rapid Spinner, and this will stop pokemon such as Forretress from using you as setup fodder. It can also stop pokemon such as Skarmory from phazing you away. Ice Fang lets you destroy dragons, especially Dragonite who can be a major problem for your team.

Finally, seeing as you have no scarfer, run a Choice Scarf on Rotom-W. The spread for this set will be 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Speed with a Timid Nature. This will let you defeat fast threats such as Thundurus which can otherwise outspeed and do major damage to your entire team. Also, Thunder is pretty unreliable outside of rain, so run Volt Switch in its place. Volt Switch is a staple for Rotom-W, especially on choice sets, as it allows you to gain switch advantage instead of losing momentum to your opponent. Also, Shadow Ball is pretty worthless because it is no longer STAB on Rotom-W, so run Hidden Power Fire in it's place. Hidden Power Fire lets you demolish Ferrothorn switch-ins, and lets you destroy Scizor.

Good luck.

I will try the HP fire on Rotom-W and remove Leech seed for Powerwhip thanks for the first feedback. Anyway I can improve my weakness against mixed MS Dragonite with Lum Berry.

This is a pretty solid team I say. It deals with a lot of threats in the metagame quite well. Still, it has a few large threats. Dragonite of any kind can only be taken out by checking it with Latias, which is a fairly shanky way of dealing with it, as it can just dragon dance up or use outrage. Opposing Conkeldurrs can be a real threat if they carry pay back. Toxicroak is pretty much unstopable once it gets going, Landorus is also a big threat too.

The only way I think I can solve those threats, is by getting Gyarados, the bulky dragon dance and sleep talk versions solve most of those threats. I am not sure which set would be better for this team though. I prefer the bulky dragon dance set, but sleep talk might work just as well. I suggest you try them both out.

Gyarados (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Waterfall
- Dragon Tail

Gyarados (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 152 HP / 172 Def / 184 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Taunt
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge

Probably the best pokemon to switch this out for would be Heatran, as the only pokemon that you would lose out against would be calm mind Latias and Hydregion, which are rather uncommon, and you can even play around with Hydreion and check it with Latias.

Ok But what pokemon Would I switch Gyrados with because I see that set really helping the team, i am more interested with The dragon Dance set than the Sleeptalk set.

Anyone think I should switch Ferro to Forry?

Ferrothorn helps against rain teams and bulky waters, so switching it is not suggested, unless hazards are really screwing you over.

This team has given me so much trouble battling it, especially heat ran and latias, I would Give heat ran a different item because once you get hit the air balloon is utterly useless its like having no item leftovers might work better if it's a bulky heat ran....

Ok so I tested the Gayarados and it is awesome though I see how it can live every attack Dragonites gives me and out outspeed it by Dragon dancing then Taunt it.
Though who will I get rid of for it?

My whole team is immune to spikes- Toxic spikes because I have two levitaters and three Steels. If someone Toxic spikes I switch into conkelldurr and feed some damage so I can bulk up twice then I have a + 3 attack boost the get my health back with lefty and Drain punch. Stealth rock does nothing to my team because It will only do 16% to me.

Thanks you are the only one who has solution to this team so you can beat it so I really appreciate it. I plan on keeping Air ballon because of Heatran Huge weakness from earthquake or any other ground type move.

It seems the major issues for this team have already been discussed so I'll just go over a few little nitpicks that were missed. First of all, Latias needs to be running the standard EV spread of 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd if you want to take full advantage of its set. There's no need to worry about the drop in power either because you'll still be able to perform a late-game sweep quite easily once Tyranitar and various Steel-types have been eliminated.

Another thing is that you should be running Leech Seed on Ferrothorn. This gives it a method of recovery outside of Leftovers while also forcing many switches which allows you to take full advantage of entry hazards. Use it in place of Stealth Rock and just shift that move onto Heatran's set by getting rid of Toxic. Overall, good team and good luck.

Ok sure I will change it soon and Thanks I was thinking off that a minute ago. Though I don't really want Leech seed On ferro Since Spikes and Stealth Rock are really important, but i will think about it.

You won't be losing either entry hazard by using Leech Seed on Ferrothorn since Heatran can use Stealth Rock in place of Toxic. I apologize if this wasn't made clear enough in my previous post.

Euhm , i read the whole thread.
It seems that the pokemon that are in the first post by you , arent the team you are using at this moment.
As you said you use gyarados , but it isnt in the 1st post :P

Anyways , it looks like a solid team.
I would give jirachi Wish tho , as you said you would bring conkeldurr in on Tspikes , then bulk up twice ,that means you'll be taking 1/4th Toxic dammage allready , then lefty's and drain punch arent gonna keep your hp up enough all times , defenatly if you get matched with a ghost .
So if you have wish , u can pass him hp again to get up a sweep again without loosing him to toxic dammage.

Other then that your team is nice :) I lost to it alot allready hehe
But since you dont battle weather teams anymore it will be last times i guess.

Hey this is a nice team. A pretty big issue here is that you lack a safe switch into choice banded Terrakion. Latias is your only fighting resistance and it is pretty easily 2HKOed by almost all of Terrakion's moves, especially since you are not investing heavily in hp. Swords dance Excadrill is a pretty big threat to this team as well as your only check to it is Conkeldurr, which is pretty shaky just on its own. An easy change for this would be to run a Slowbro over your Latias. Slowbro makes for an excellent fighting resistance and will aid you in switching into choice banded close combat and stone edge from Terrakion. It also gives you a good check to sandstorm sweepers such as Excadrill and Landorus, especially since you have Conkeldurr on this team to back you up against swords dance Excadrill. A set with scald / psychic / flamethrower / slack off, leftovers, bold nature and maximum hp and defense will really work well on this team.

I really don't see the point of Jirachi on this team. It just seems like you put it on this team for the sake of annoying your opponents with iron head flinch hax with thunder wave, although it does not seem to be doing much for you other than that. Choice band Tyrnaitar is an interesting option for that spot instead. Not only does it provide you with your own weather starter, but it also lures in threats such as Gliscor and Skarmory which Conkeldurr has a tough time getting through. It's also an excellent Reuniclus check which is another threat that could really be a problem for this team. A set with stone edge / pursuit / crunch / superpower, adamant, and a spread of 136 HP / 252 Atk / 120 Spe will allow you to outrun most Skarmory and Jellicent.

As another note, I really do not think that Heatran should be running balloon. It is meant to sponge hits from the likes of special attackers such as Volcarona so air balloon is more or less of a waste. Leftovers, with a set of stealth rock / lava plume / toxic / roar would be much more appropriate for that Heatran. This means that Ferrothorn no longer needs to run both spikes and stealth rock so I'd suggest simply running a set of spikes / leech seed / gyro ball / power whip with a sassy nature over relaxed. This will also help you sponge hits from the likes of the lati twins and other specially based attackers as well making sure gyro ball is at maximum power. gl.

Ok thanks for the rate. To fix my Gliscor problem I added Gayarados over ROTOM-W

Reason it is bulkier and gives me more edge.

Gayarados @ Leftover
Trait: Intimidate
EVS 252 HP/ 101 ATK/ 144 Spdef
Impish Nature ( +Def -Atk)
- Dragon Dance
- Ice fang
- Taunt
- Waterfall

and I removed Heatran for Rotom-h

Rotom-H @Choice Specs
Trait: Levitate
EVS 4 HP/ 252 SPe/ 144 SPatk
Timid Nature (+Spe -Atk)
- OverHeat
- Trick
- Thunderbolt
- Hp Ice

What do you think guys.

Wait, how is it illegal to have both spikes and stealth rock on Ferrothorn? Last I checked, Crustle/Dwebble can learn both, and then just pass them on, no?
