Nonweather Offense

Alright. I'd like to say first that is my second RMT here. My first RMT has turned into one of my best teams and I'd like to try to improve this team. I am also real bad about seeing my team isn't working and just scrapping it, which is why l hardly post these. I really like this team, however, and would like for it to improve.

For those who are wondering, l am bad at seeing my own weaknesses in my own team, so there isn't any "I picked him to pach up my *Insert pokemon here* weakness. This is one of my downfalls in team building and could use your help.

Landorus (M) @ Choice Scarf Trait: Sand Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
31 Speed Iv's

Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- U-turn

Landorus was added because he easily checks Volcarona and helps against sun teams. With Stone Edge and Earthquake he can easily hurt major Sun sweepers. Hidden Power [Ice] is for Gliscor and U-turn is for scouting. He can also work as a decent check to sandstorm teams. It also had more bulk than Azelf, albeit a x4 Weakness to Ice. Note: He is running 31 Speed Iv's to out-speed other Landerus's that are using 30.

Azelf @ Choice Band Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- U-turn
- Zen Headbutt
- Fire Punch
- Ice Punch

My friend showed me the awesomeness that is CBZelf. I generally lead with this to easily start momentum with U-Turn, or get a surprise Ko on something expecting Stealth Rocks. It surprised many opponents and generally nets a few Ko's. U-Turn is for scouting. Zen Headbutt in for STAB. Fire Punch is for Ferrothorn. Ice Punch is for Gliscor and slower Dragons. I chose him over Nasty Plot due to surprise factor, able to use U-Turn, and hits hard off the bat.
Azumarill___your_besta_friend_by_vaporotem.jpg

Azumarill (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Huge Power
EVs:248HP/252Atk/8Def
Adamant (+Atk -SAtk)
- Aqua Jet
- Superpower
- Ice Punch
- Waterfall

Azurimarill is my main counter to Sandstorm teams and Excadrill, which is now banned. Jellicent walls this completely, but Azumarill can't really touch it. That is where Kingdra or Sceptile comes in. Azumarill provides priority and help create a F/W/G core for easier switching in between sweepers. Which its decent bulk, and Aqua Jet checking a lot of stuff and forcing switches, Waterfall can be sued to just hit hard. Ice punch is for dragons and Superpower is for another way to hit Blissey/Chansey and another way to hit Ferrothorn.

Sheena_the_Infernape_by_Ero_Solrac.png

Infernape (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Overheat
- Close Combat
- U-turn
-Hidden power [Grass]

My main sweeper. One of the few Fire types that are neutral to Stealth Rocks. Which Life Orb, 108 speed, High Power STABS and base 104 in both offensive stats lets him come in and easily force switches. I tried Stealth Rocks first, but Quagsire and Gastrodon really hurt this team, so i decided on Hidden Power [Grass]. It has the ability to 2HKO Gastrodon and 2HKO SDef Quagsire and OHKO Physical Quagsire. His Stabs have amazing coverage and U-Turn can be used to Scout. Infirnape is one of the best late-game cleaners and helps provide offensive pressure of the opposing teams.

Rotom-W @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate

EVs: 112 HP / 252 SAtk / 144 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split

Bulky Rotom is a pretty awesome check to rain teams. With Will-o-wisp, he can easily cripple Ferrothorn. He also checks rain teams in general better than Kingdra. He also out-speeds and burn Toxicroaks that try to get a free switch-in on Hydro Pump. Thunderbolt is for Water type that are resistant to Hydro pump and is STAB. Hydro Pump just hits hard and is STAB too. Pain Split is for recovery and help weaken Blissey and Chansey.

Tsunagon__Kingdra__s_Evo_by_DarkLatios777.jpg

Kingdra (M) @ Chesto Berry
Trait: Swift Swim
EVs: 144 HP / 160 Atk / 40 SDef / 164 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Waterfall
- Rest

Kingdra is one of my main answers to rain teams. With the extra bulk, he can set up and Dragon Dance on Starmie and a few other weak special attackers. Even getting up to +2 against Starmie and then using rest can get me to +3 and then sweeping comes easily. Waterfall and Outrage is used as STABS and can easily rip through teams alone. Rain teams have issues with +1 or even +2 Outrages, especially after Infirnape has taken out Ferrothorn. ChestroRest allows me to easily set-up on Chansey/Blissey and other walls that insist on wearing me down with toxic. Chestro Berry also allows me to unleash an outrage against a sun sweeper trying to set-up before its gets too high.

Latios (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fire]

- Recover

Latios Provides some raw power to the team. Life Orb is for power, but it still lets Latios be flexible, which is needed on this team. He also provided a way past Special walls via Psyschock and another way to hit Ferrothorn via Hidden Power [Fire]. Recover counterbalance Life Orb recoil. Draco Meteor is just a strong attack that hits hard. Latios is generally a late game cleaner, which is why Draco Meteor is viable to me.

chandelure_by_hinatacookie2008-d3hzi4m.png

Chandelure (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Fire Blast
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Rock]
- Substitute

Chandelure is my main counter to Sun teams. After someone goes down as sleep fodder, not many pokemon can take a Sun Boosted Fire Blast. I also wall Fire/Grass offensive combo. Hidden Power [Rock] helps take care of Volcarona and other Fire types.

Scizor (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Pursuit

Scizor is an amazing revenge. Bullet Punch is an amazing move hitting at 135 Base Power with a choice Band. Best part? Priority. If it Ko it at least dents pokemon that don't resist it. U-Turn is used as scouting and between Scizor, Landerus, and Infirnape, they can make a powerful U-turning chain. Superpower is mainly for Ferrothorn and other Steels. Pursuit traps Lati@s twins and they are forced to stay in and either take a U-turn or get Pursuited. He is amazing revenge killer and bring needed priority to the team.

Sceptile_Assasin_by_RenePolumorfous.jpg

Sceptile (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Overgrow
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Naughty Nature (+Atk, -SDef)
- Leaf Blade
- Earthquake
- Low Kick
- Hidden Power [Ice]

This set is a creation of one of my best friends, Chocolate_Scizor. It easily takes care of TTar, Politoad, AND Nintails. Hidden Power [Ice] is mainly for Gliscor, but can be used to revenge slower dragons like support Dnite without Marvel Scale, and DtailMence. He is a pretty cool cleaner. He is the last of my anti-weather core. Leaf Blade cane be used to OHKO's Spec's Politoad and SDef Politoad, Earthquake OHKO's Ninetales, and Low Kick OHKO's TTar.

Things to replace:
Thinkning of using Ballooned Heatran>Chandelure. It can easily wall most sun sweepers and can Kill Nature Power Sawsbuck, who could pose a threat after a swords dance.

I got the pics off of Deviant Art. Just felt like putting that so no one has issues with copyright or whatever.

Hi!

So as I looked through this team, the main problem i saw was that your team has a lack of bulk (which isn't necessarily bad), but your team doesn't have the sheer offensive presence to make up for the lack of bulk. Also, having two Choice Banders doesn't really help, as it leaves easy set-up room for the opponent, and you have nothing to tank or revenge.

To fix these problems, I recommend running Scarf Jirachi over Azelf - try running a moveset of Ice Punch / Thunder Punch / Iron Head / U-Turn (or Trick). Trick would be quite helpful to help defeat Stall easier.

I would also recommend running a Latios over Chandelure; Latios also defeats sun handily, but also adds much-needed speed to your team along with a vital Electric resist. A moveset of Draco Meteor / Psyshock / Hidden Power Fire / Recover with Life Orb / Leftovers would work well.

Finally, Sceptile seems out of place on a team like this - it can't really do much if your opponent switches out of their weather starter and into a Pokemon like Scizor. A much better alternative to Sceptile would be a SD Verizion. Try running a moveset of Swords Dance / Close Combat / Leaf Blade / Stone Edge. This will help you against rain and sand, while simultaneously beating all the weather starters.

Kingdra also seems kinda out of place but I don't want to completely remake your team :x (unless you want me to)

Hi, as of right now, your team is still very weak to sun. You list Chandelure as your best answer to it, but more often than not, Volcorona will come out the winner anyways. Volcorona can get in one Quiver Dance on the switchin, and another as Chandelure goes for the first hit. By now, Volcorona can shrug off HP Rock and proceed to sweep your team with a combination of Quiver Dance + Morning Sun/ Rest. Offensive Volcorona with HP Ground absolutely dominates it. As well, many of the sun abusers carry ground type moves and can easily dispatch of Chandelure, especially Sawsbuck and the dragons. You really want an Air Balloon on Chandelure to deal with this. I also suggest running Hidden Power Fighting and Energy Ball to deal with Tyranitar, Heatran, and bulky water switchins, and better coverage in general.

Chandelure @ Air Balloon
Flash Fire
Modest
252 SpA/ 252 Spe/ 4 Hp
Fire Blast
Shadow Ball
Hidden Power Fighting
Energy Ball

To address the Volcorona and dragons problem, I suggest dropping Choice Band Azelf for a Choice Scarf Landorus. Landorus provides your team with that all important ground immunity. Its 101 base speed ensures it can troll Volcorona and the DD Dragons, making it an ideal revenge killer. It hits harder than Azelf in most bases by virtue of a superior STAB move. With U-Turn, Landorus functions just as well, if not better, as a scout as Azelf. Landorus is also much less prone to revenge killing due to superior bulk, and can act as a makeshift sand check.

Landorus @ Choice Scarf
Sand Force
Naive
252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 4 SpA
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Hidden Power Ice
U-Turn

I'm not sure why Sceptile is carrying Earthquake just to take out Ninetails. You're not carrying a weather team, so you don't need to set weather wars traps. Ninetails is non-issue for this team and there's no point in designating a moveslot specifically to deal with it. The move you want here instead is Crunch. Sceptile baits in ghost types like Gengar and Chandelure like no other, who you can swiftly dispatch with Crunch. Crunch also ensures that Sceptile isn't walled by the Latii twins. As a matter or fact, due to Sceptile's obscene speed, it actually becomes a revenge killer against those two. Outspeeding and hitting them hard. While it isn't strong enough to grab an OHKO, it'll hit them hard enough so that even Azumarill or something can pick them off.

Lastly, I question the legitimacy of DD Chestorest Kingdra. You currently list it as your check to rain teams. But why bother when you can just use a tank Rotom-W like everyone else? Rotom-W brings superior typing to the table, doesn't have to worry about Ferrothorn, and wont be dead weight against non rain teams. Your team also currently has issues combating Moxie Gyaradoses, especially SubDD, and Rotom-W can help you greatly against it.

Rotom-W @ Leftovers

I'll test some of these suggeations later today. I especially like Landarus just because l haven't really used one yet. Since Land help check Volcorona, l think l will change Chandelure for either Scarfrachi, CB Scizor. Jirachi pointed out how dragon weak l was and that SpecLatios could come in a get a free kill.
I will update this a little later after l get back form school Thank you for the rates

Bumping this because l made some severe changes and would like to say that l would like to change Azurilmaril now that Scizor has Priority and Excadrill was banned anyway and Scizor can deal with Terrakion and Landerus is running 31 Speed Iv's out-speeding other Scarf Lands who use 30 Iv's

Aww you got rid of the azelf? :( I just started testing it and loved it, especially when they expect stealth rock and espeon gets a U-turn to the face.

Yeah CBAzelf is such an amazing surprise. He nets some Ko's on Ferrothron and and even Gliscor. While he goes get some surprise Ko's and can revenge the Lati@s twins, but Landerus Lets me outspeed base 100 scarfers and +1 Volcarona.
