<Starmie> [Ruby] (No Gender)
Nature: Modest (Special Attack increased by *; Attack reduced by *)
Type: Water/Psychic
Water: Water STAB; Can breathe and have excellent mobility when underwater, are less capable on land unless they are entirely amphibious.
Psychic: Psychic STAB; less susceptible to blinding, more susceptible to sound-based assaults as far as locking on with Psychic attacks, can lift and throw opponents with Psychic attacks regardless of weight difference. Psychic-type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.
About Ruby: Ruby was Spenstar's very first Pokemon. When Spenstar was eight years old, he found Ruby as a Staryu at a beach. Ruby was washed up on the shore, badly wounded, and Spenstar's parents agreed to let him take the Staryu in. Unlike the other household Pokemon, a Misdreavus that belonged to the family as a whole, (but later belonged to only Spenstar's sister) Ruby was the friend and responsibility of Spenstar alone. When Spenstar lost his parents, he and Ruby were both devestated, but at some point they realized they still had each other. When they lost Spenstar's sister to insanity, they had each other (and Grave) to keep them going.

Being Spenstar's best friend and oldest family member alive that isn't crazy, Spenstar has a special spot in his heart for his beloved Ruby. Ruby wasn't much of a battling Pokemon, but that changed when the two (plus Grave) joined the ASB league together. Since then, Ruby has grown stronger by leaps and bounds, and has evolved into a mighty Starmie.

Abilities:
Natural Cure: (Innate) This Pokemon’s body has the ability to heal itself of status afflictions over time, it goes into effect six (6) actions after being inflicted with a status. In switch battles, this Pokemon heals all status effects when switched out.

About Brick Breaker: Spenstar found Brick Breaker as a Scraggy in the muddy plains after his second battle. Using Grave, (Ruby was tired from the battle) Spenstar fought the Scraggy and won. Upon capturing him, he decided to nickname him Brick, after his determination to overcome any obstacle, even a brick wall. Brick is full of heart and excitement. He always cheers his team on in battles that he's not involved in, and fights to his limits constantly when he's in a battle. After evolving in a battle literally in hell, Brick felt like a fully grown Pokemon in his own eyes, and has re-named himself Brick Breaker, for his determination and ability to shatter any obstacle, including a brick wall. Brick Breaker is a fierce Pokemon on Spenstar's team that he knows he can rely on in a time of need.

(It has come to my attention that this is the incorrect order, but it shall remain so for this match.)

"Let's hope you're battling skills haven't rusted any! I've been looking forward to this challenge."

"I only hope you're joking, Laharl. As if I'd let you be the first to battle here! Black Swan, go!"

You passed arena choice but not priority. Since you challenged me and I accepted, you go first. Sorry x) I asked Lou on Mibbit and he confirmed it.

"Hey guys! Great to see you two again! Alright! No holding back!"

Spenstar grabbed an Ultra Ball and expanded it. He looked at the device in his hand and smiled. He was back and ready to fight once again. He tossed the ball in the air.

"Go, Bugoff!"

The Pinsir slammed down on the battlefield so hard the tiles slightly shook. With a mighty roar, Bugoff introduced himself to the enemy Froslass and her two trainers. Careful as he was in combat, he was eager as ever to fight for the first time, by Spenstar's side.

"Here's the plan, buddy. Start strong with Rock Slide. Then follow up with Faint Attack, and then show her some more of that Rock Slide! Should Rock Slide get disabled, use Faint Attack when you would Rock Slide. You got this!"

Bugoff nodded and glared menacingly at Froslass. The battle was on!

"Ohohoho! I'll show you how well such an inaccurate attack will fare against Froslass. Summon up a Hail, Black Swan! Follow with a Blizzard aimed at your shivering opponent and finish with Thunder Wave. Play a beautiful dirge for our insect opponent, Froslass. He won't last long in these conditions..."

As the pinnacle of beauty, (at least in her opinion) Black Swan isn't sure why her trainer would have her show off her grace to such an unsightly opponent. The Froslass begins the battle anyways, sure that the bug's defeat at her hands is a greater honor than it deserves...

"He he he, let's see how you handle Pazuzu!"

The Crobat seems eager for battle... Or at least eager to inflict pain. One can never be entirely sure with Pazuzu. Either way, the misery of others is his enjoyment, so he likes his fights slow and painful. He is simultaneously joyful and annoyed to see the near-defeat Pinsir as his foe. His happiness stems from his sadistic side, happy to see any Pokemon in complete agony; however, he is irritated that Black Swan got the better part of the battle to herself. He doesn't even have a chance to torture his foe before dispatching it...

Bugoff, you've done an amazing job, now it's time to see if you can't hold your own against this Crobat, if only for a minute!

Keep using Rock Slide until you fall into a peaceful slumber, my dear friend.

Bugoff, you were amazing, and I am very proud of you. You will be avenged! Go, RUBY THE STARMIE!

Ruby was my first Pokemon, and Ruby will not let me down today. Crobat, prepare to meet your maker!

"Call not my training style into question. Pazuzu has always relished in the suffering of others, I just let him unleash those desires in a "constructive" way...
Pazuzu, start by going above and beyond our foe with a Flying strike. If Ruby tries to get uppity with a combo using Psychic, use a Sky Baron combo (Acrobatics+Fly) to give him something to fear! Either way, follow up with a Cross Poison attack. If you have a free turn, finish with Giga Drain."

Fly-> Cross Poison-> Giga Drain

if combo with Psychic is used:
Fly+Acrobatics-> Rest-> Cross Poison

Laharl, what is up with that girl and her crobat?

Okay Ruby, no Psychic combo for you... hehe, it's time to get serious! I have a plan B! Combine Thunderbolt with Surf to create an Electrically Charged Tidal Wave! water is a great conductor of electricity, so this'll be a piece of cake! The attack will get the STAB bonus because the matter is water, but since it's electrically charged, it'll smack around that flying type super effectively!

Ruby: That's awesome!

I know, right? But wait, there's one more thing. Discharge paralyzes so often because the electricity occupies a large space. With the water beautifully conducting electricity, the high-volume tidal wave will surely leave Crobat paralyzed and cut down to size!

Ruby: Amazing! But this is my first combo. Do you think I can pull it off?

I believe in you. You've done amazing things, and this will be no exception. After the combo, you'll need some time to rest, so just relax. When you're ready, activate illuminate to hinder the bat's sight!

Ruby: Oh, it's ON, Crobat!

Surf+Thunderbolt-rest-Illuminate
(replace illuminate with psychic if Illuminate would be illegal or not take up an action slot)

Pazuzu recovers 5 En.
Pazuzu's paralysis degrades to 20%.

The tables have turned at first glance - Crobat is getting a taste of his comrade's medicine now! Starmie is on another full offensive, with little regard for energy efficiency.

Crobat pushes through all of the impediments, though. Perhaps Pinsir's display left an impression?

Well done, Rube! Between Storm Surge and Psychic, you nearly sliced his HP in half! Plus, you're faster now!

Keep up the offense! Psychic-Ice Beam-Psychic!

If Crobat is suspended in the air during any of these actions, Chill instead.

And when you use Ice Beam, try to freeze Crobat's wings, making them heavy and preventing Crobat from flying!

"This is... interesting, Pazuzu. Let's try a combo of our own, eh? Give that annoying Starmie a Vampire's Feast (Giga Drain+Bite) to try and cover our losses. Then, use an Acrobatics to deal some more damage. If you were paralyzed action 1, use Giga Drain action 2."

Pazuzu combined Giga Drain and Bite!
Giga Drain + Bite is an invalid combo; reverting to components.
(Firing a health-draining ray while gnawing on something? I'd try Bite + Leech Life, since they're both fang-based attacks, and better yet both physical.)

Pazuzu used Giga Drain!
Paralysis Roll: 2000 > 5093 (No)

Pazuzu fainted!

This battle has certainly turned ironic, hasn't it?

Subjected to a full-on assault from Starmie, the Crobat goes down with little more than a whimper at last. I wouldn't be surprised if the bat out of Hell decided to hold a grudge against this particular Starmie in the future. Or, considering its vengeful nature, perhaps Starmie at large...?

Spenstar had best watch out; if patterns are to believed then the attention of the irony gods will have shifted back to the victorious Ruby.

Now, Temperantia sends out her final mon and gives orders.

YES! Take that Lenneth! *hugs Ruby* that was amazing!

Ruby: WOO-HOO! We be awesome! ^.^

wait... why is this ironic? all-out offense has given me the upper hand throughout the battle!
