Team jas(whatever)

Goldeen (Matthew) (M)
Nature: Naughty (+1 Atk, -1 SpD)

Type: Water
Water:
Water STAB; Can breathe and have excellent mobility when underwater, are less capable on land unless they are entirely amphibious.

Abilities:
Swift Swim: (Innate) The Pokemon with this ability moves extremely fast in slick, rainy conditions, doubling (x2) its Speed in the rain.
Water Veil: (Innate) Pokemon with this ability always have their body coated in a layer of water which prevents burns.
Lightning Rod (DW): (Innate) These Pokemon naturally attract electricity to themselves and away from partners in double battles. When struck with an Electric attack, they transfer the energy into their body, using it to increase their Special Attack by one (1) stage. A boost gained this way by an opponent's attack will be maintained at the end of each round. Self-targeted attacks do not maintain boosts. If a Pokemon has a type immunity to Electric attacks, Lightning Rod will not activate.

Team C$FP

Shroomish [Shroomish] (Male)
Nature: Adamant (+ to Attack; - from Special Attack)
Type: Grass
Grass: Grass STAB; immunity to Leech Seed and Worry Seed. 50% reduction in status effect chance of oncoming "powder" attacks. More mobile in areas with strong natural light sources. Superior senses in tall grass and forest areas. Able to use Wrap and Bind without losing focus.

Abilities:
Ability 1: Effect Spore
Type: Can be Disabled
This Pokemon has a stockpile of defensive spores which it releases on opponents who strike with contact attacks. There is a 10% chance each of poison, paralysis, and sleep.

Ability 2: Poison Heal
Type: Innate
Pokemon with this ability have internal structures that absorb the toxins in poison and uses them to recover two (2) HP/action instead of taking poison damage. When a Pokemon with Poison Heal inflicts Poison on themselves with an attack, it uses up one of their Recovery Moves. If Toxic'd, the Toxic counter will still go up each round and Toxic will do the relevant damage for that round should their ability be disabled. When disabled, the Pokemon's Powder attacks are 10% more accurate.

Ability 3 (DW): Quick Feet
Type: Innate
This Pokemon feels a sense of anxiety when afflicted with a status condition and its speed increases by 50% (x1.5). Although it can still be fully paralyzed, it will not suffer the Speed drop.

Numbers! You're up!

Haha, I have no problem with people not tying the numbers. Though it baffles me that people choose not to type them, but then replace them with something much longer.

Well, I came in here looking for a challenge, so lets hope this can provide one.

Matthew, you are at a type disadvantage, but we have some nice moves to work with here, so lets do our best. Jab it with poison, but hope the effect doesn't last. Then freeze it (ideally), and repeat. And avoid any spores.

Poison Jab - Ice Beam - Poison Jab
If Shroomish uses Spore, use Dive that action, but only if you did not use Dive the previous turn

Round 1 Begin!

...Aaaaaaand I lied. Sorry.

Welcome to what promises to be another great battle! I'm Roman the Gallade, and alongside me once again is my teammate and colleague, Irwin the Feraligatr.

That's right, Roman. Here we are again at the ASB Arena--for what seems like the millionth time--for today's battle between jas...um...there's a lot of numbers here, I'll just come back to it...and C-dollarsign-F-P. What is with these people and their weird names? Why can't parents just name their children "Johnny" or "Steve" like they used to?

I'm sure it's just the culture, Irwin. Anyway, jas has sent out Matthew, his Goldeen, and C$FP counters with his Shroomish.

...Named?

Actually, this Shroomish doesn't have a name, apparently.

What the--who wouldn't nickname their Pokemon? This guy must be pretty cold!

To each his own, I suppose. In any event, let's get this battle started! Matthew leads with a Poison Jab! Normally, that would be a good move, but he's got to watch out for Shroomish'd Poison Heal ability. It didn't activate this time, but next time Matthew might not be so lucky!

Wait...so you're telling me this thing heals itself using poison?

Yep.

...Hmph. Just as I thought. Grass-types are cowards. They can't fight back, so they let their abilities troll people! Take Venusaur for example. Gen I-IV, it was useless. But give it Chlorophyll in Gen V, and suddenly it's broken!

You're one to talk, seeing as you got Sheer Force this generation. Helped you out quite a bit, hasn't it?

That's different.

Riiiiiight...anyway, back on topic. Shroomish just retaliated against Matthew, firing off a volley of explosive seeds! That Seed Bomb attack did excellent damage!

But Matthew isn't done yet! He shoots a Beam of Ice at the stupid little mushroom! Ha! Take that, you little--

Whoa, whoa! If you can't cover this battle objectively, I'll have to kick you out of here!

Sorry.

Anyway...Now Shroomish fires back with a Bullet Seed attack! It hits one...two times! Clearly not what Shroomish was hoping for, but it'll have to do for now.

...

It looks like Matthew's getting cocky, though--he's tried another Poison Jab! It hits again, but this time it poisons Shroomish, activating Poison Heal! Matthew just made it much harder on himself! jas has to be shaking his head after that one!

...

Shroomish lands another Seed Bomb attack! This doesn't look good for Matthew...

...

...Well? Aren't you going to say something?

I'm trying to be objective. I've been keeping my comments to myself.

...Fair enough.

Besides, it's not my fault that Shroomish is a pathetic excuse for a Pokemon that nobody even likes. Why should I complain about it?

That's it, you're done. Get out of here, now.

Hey--whoa! Watch it! What are you--

Don't make me do it, Irwin.

Just try it!

<sigh> Fine. But don't say I didn't warn you.

Roman used Close Combat!

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagggghhh...

...I really hate having to do that...while I find a new co-host, let's take a break.

Matthew's Ice Beam: Deals 18 damage to Shroomish. Matthew expends 7 Energy.

Shroomish's Bullet Seed: Hits 2 times. Deals a total of 24 damage to Matthew (12 damage per hit). Shroomish expends 5 Energy.

Matthew's Poison Jab: Deals 17 damage to Shroomish. Shroomish is now Poisoned. Matthew expends 6 Energy.

Shroomish's Seed Bomb: Deals 20 damage to Matthew. Shroomish expends 5 Energy.

Shroomish gains 2 HP due to Poison Heal.

C$FP, you're up.

Well, this is not looking good, but with a 2 hit Bullet Seed, we could win this. Lets pray for good luck and go for it.

Oh, excellent flavor, by the way.

Flail+Poison Jab Combo - cool down - win or be dead
If for some reason you are not KOd but have not won, Flail action 3.

Welcome back, everybody. For those of you just tuning in, my usual co-host Irwin had to be...er...escorted from the premises, so as a replacement I've brought in my good friend, Jean the Chandelure.

It's simply faaaaabulous to be here today, Roman. But where exactly did Irwin go?

I'm not sure, and I don't really care at the moment. We've got a battle to finish! Here comes Shroomish, with another Bullet Seed attack--this could end it!

Is it...spitting at Matthew? How utterly un-faaaabulous.

There's one...there's two...and there's three--no! The third one missed! Unbelievable! What a time to have a lapse in concentration! So instead of putting the battle away, Bullet Seed hits twice, leaving an opening for Matthew!

Oh, I do love close fights! They're just so--

Faaaaabulous, I know. (Yeesh. I almost want Irwin back now.) Here's Matthew's attack! A combo of Flail and Poison Jab that KOes Shroomish cold! jas wins!

Matthew
HP: 2
Energy: 52
Status: Wow...I wasn't actually expecting that to work.

VS

Shroomish
HP: 0
Energy: 80
Status: reyscarface...got only 2 hits on Bullet Seed...bs hax (Yeah, I got nothing.)

Shroomish's Bullet Seed: Hits 2 times. Deals 24 damage to Matthew (12 per hit). Shroomish expends 5 Energy.

Matthew's Flail + Poison Jab combo: Becomes Poison-type. Deals 40 damage to Shroomish. Matthew expends 29 Energy. Shroomish faints. Matthew gains 1 KOC (1 total).

GG, jas. I guess Shroomish really is a piece of crap, but it's just about ready to evolve! Thanks for reffing, Galladiator! (I think you get 3 UC)

I agree with my Goldeen: Wow...I wasn't actually expecting that to work.

Good Game C$FP. And great reffing Galladiator.
