Lou and Ranger are lost in a Labyrinth

Status
Not open for further replies.
Lou's Team:
304.gif

Aron ♂ - Ozzy
Nature: Careful (SpD: +1, SpA: -1)
Type: Steel / Rock
Steel Type - Steel STAB; Immune to Sandstorm, highly insusceptible to toxic attacks, but can be corroded specifically by Acid and Acid Spray, can be magnetized. Superior senses in high-metal environments like construction sites or factories.
Rock Type - Rock STAB; Take 2 less damage from all special attacks during Sandstorm. Able to use Sand Tomb without losing focus.

Abilities:
Sturdy - (Innate) This Pokemon’s body is solidly constructed, reducing the Base Attack Power from an opponents incoming attacks by one (1). The effect is amplified on OHKO Moves, which are reduced by ten (10) Base Attack Power.
Rock Head - (Innate) This Pokemon’s hard body prevents it from taking recoil damage from moves such as Double-Edge, Flare Blitz, and Head Smash.
(DW) Heavy Metal - (Dormant) - (Innate) The Pokemon's body structure is immensely dense, doubling its weight. Additionally the Base Attack Power of full contact attacks [Avalanche, Brave Bird, Body Slam, Bounce, Double-Edge, Dragon Rush, Extremespeed, Flare Blitz, Giga Impact, Headbutt, Head Charge, Head Smash, Heat Crash, Heavy Slam, Hi Jump Kick, Ice Ball, Iron Head, Jump Kick, Outrage, Petal Dance, Quick Attack, Revenge, Rollout, Slam, Spark, Steamroller, Submission, Superpower, Tackle, Take Down, Thrash, V-create, Volt Tackle, Waterfall, Wood Hammer, and Zen Headbutt is increased by two (2).] Seismic Toss, Vital Throw, and Circle Throw will fail against this Pokemon unless the user is a Fighting-type.*

A runt of his litter; Aron is wary and slow to comfort in any new situation. It always keeps an eye on its surroundings, and takes notice of anything that could be a threat. In battle, Aron prefers a direct approach; circling his opponent for openings in which to strike with his immensely powerful attacks.
[a]Zorua[/a]
570.gif

Zorua ♀ - Anonymous
Nature: Lonely (Atk: +1, Def: -1)
Type: Dark
Dark Type - Dark STAB; Immunity to all telepathic and telekinetic attacks, better performance in all darkened and especially twilight conditions. Can use any Dark-type attack regardless of Attraction.

Abilities:
Illusion - (Innate) Whenever you send this Pokemon out it can feign the appearance of another member on your squad. If this Pokemon is damaged by a direct attack, the Illusion will cease at the end of the round. It will retain the typing and moveset of the Pokemon with Illusion. [Usage Note: PM the ref if you are sending out a Zorua or Zoroark with the info on Zorua/Zoroark and one of your squad members in a Switch=KO battle. You must use that squad member later in the battle though.]

Found alone, in a bin on the side of the road; Anonymous seems to have led a sad life up until now. Often pining for the attention of others, she makes displays of her illusion abilities to win their amusement. Seemingly lacking in self-esteem, she prefers the guises of others to her own.
[a]Snivy[/a]
495.gif

Snivy ♂ - Basil
Nature: Serious (No Changes)
Type: Grass
Grass Type - Grass STAB; Immunity to Leech Seed and Worry Seed. 50% reduction in status effect chance of oncoming "powder" attacks. More mobile in areas with strong natural light sources. Superior senses in tall grass and forest areas. Able to use Wrap and Bind without losing focus.

Abilities:
Overgrow - (Innate) When this Pokemon’s HP is lower than 33% (flat), the Base Attack Power of any grass attack is increased by two (2). (eg Giga Drain goes from 8 to 10, Solarbeam from 12 to 14)
(DW) Contrary - (Can be Enabled) This Pokemon's unique structure reverses stat changes it receives in battle, both from its attacks and the opponents. At the end of the round, stat changes will still increase/decrease toward 0.

Scorn and disdain describe Basil accurately. His demeanor ranges from indifference to most others, to slightly less indifferent to those he respects - which is quite the short list. Basil is caught in the awkward place between posturing and pragmatics: he is equally concerned of giving his all against unworthy opponents, or trying to toy with a more dire foe.
[a]Woobat[/a]
527.gif

Woobat ♀ - Cassandra
Nature: Timid (Spe +11, Accuracy +16%, Atk: -1)
Type: Psychic / Flying
Psychic Type - Psychic STAB; less susceptible to blinding, more susceptible to sound-based assaults as far as locking on with Psychic attacks, can lift and throw opponents with Psychic attacks regardless of weight difference. Psychic-type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.
Flying Type - Flying STAB; immunity to Ground attacks outside extremely odd circumstances even for ground-based flying Pokemon. Enhanced aerial mobility. Superior senses in open air arenas.

Abilities:
Unaware - (Innate) When this Pokemon is released, a light aura enshrouds the opponent, nullifying all stat boosts or reductions other than Speed, it remains while this Pokemon is active.
Klutz - (Can be Disabled) The Pokemon moves in a rare style of battling that uses an unpredictable, clumsy looking manner. The accuracy of its attacks are increased by 10% (flat). While engaging in this style it cannot use a hold item, however an item is necessary to pull it off.*
(DW) Simple - (Innate) This Pokemon innately exaggerates the effect of stat boosts and drops to the point where they have double the effectiveness, but the same actual stage. (e.g. Swords Dance/Screech is still a 2 stage boost/drop but is calculated as 4 stages). Stat benefits/reductions still maximize at 6 effective stages.

Unused to the outside world, Cassandra is innately afraid of anything that isn't commonly found in a cave (along with a few things that are). Putting forth effort to overcome her fears and pull her weight on a team, she nonetheless focuses on defensive play and protecting herself from attack.
Ranger's Team:
iaza11529655432100.gif

Monohm* [Aires] (M)
Nature: Modest (+1 SpA, -1 Atk)
Type: Electric/Dragon
Electric: Electric STAB; 50% reduction in paralysis chance from other electrical attacks, perfect accuracy and 30% chance of Protect breaking Thunder during Rain. Superior senses in power plant environments.
Dragon: Dragon STAB; more in touch with legendary or special auras in arenas. Able to use Thrash without losing focus.

Abilities:
Shield Dust: (Innate) This pokemon has dust covering the outside of its body that prevents opponents secondary effects from taking place (eg burn from Flamethrower). It does not block direct status moves (such as Thunder Wave.)
Static: (Innate) This pokemon’s body is surrounded by an electric field that has a 30% chance of paralyzing opponents that use contact moves on this pokemon.
Overcoat: (Innate)
This Pokemon has a sturdy exterior that rebuffs the elements, making it immune to damage inflicted by bad weather. If the Pokemon is already immune to at least one (1) kind of weather by typing or a different ability, Overcoat reduces the Base Attack Power of all oncoming attacks by one (1).

Type: Fighting
Fighting: Fighting STAB; ignore weight restrictions on Circle Throw, Seismic Toss, Sky Drop, Storm Throw, Submission, and Vital Throw. Superior reaction time in close quarters.

Abilities:

Guts: Innate
This Pokemon is tenacious and will work ever harder when under a status condition, raising the Base Attack Power of all its physical attacks by two (2). Pokemon with Guts ignore the attack drop from burn.

Steadfast: Innate
If this Pokemon is flinched, it becomes aware of the speed difference and increases Speed by one (1) stage to make up the difference. This Speed boost is maintained at the end of each round.

Vital Spirit (DW): Innate
This Pokemon has a high vitality and alertness making it immune to sleep induced by other Pokemon. Its normal state of sleeplessness makes it take 1 less damage and energy/action from Ghost Curse. If it is put to sleep by a Pokemon with Mold Breaker it will wake up the next action. If a Pokemon with Vital Spirit also has Insomnia, its evasion is raised by one (1) stage permanently.

A dark, stone hallway flooded knee-deep in murky, algae-infested water. Stone blocks rise just above the surface and provide

  • The algae desalinates the water, weakening Electricity. Electric attacks are normal power instead of being boosted, and do not conduct in any special way.
  • The water triggers Rain-based abilities and can be Dived in.
  • Weather can't be summoned by normal means.
  • Fire attacks work normally above the water.
  • The dark conditions weaken the accuracy of non-Dark mons unless a Fire or Electric mon is in play, or another producer of steady light.

I will send out Cassandra. She will equip Amulet Coin and deactivate Klutz.

"Cassandra, kindly demonstrate your abilities."

Cassandra - Calm Mind | Calm Mind | Calm Mind
If Monohm uses Thunder, set up a Light Screen if you do not already have one.

I just realized how screwed we are Aires, him raising SpA and SpA with simple... Not good, anyways Lets give it your all.
Charge--> Thunder+Thunder Combo--> Cooldown

Both trainers seem lost in the cryptic labyrinth. With no idea on their current location, they decide to simply camp out in their current corridor and have a battle. Trainers, who knows what they're thinking.

Anyways, Lou sends out his Woobat, Cassandra, who is normally accustomed to the darkness of the labyrinth. Ranger sends out his Monohm, Aires, who suddenly illuminates the area, allowing both Pokemon to know each other's whereabouts.

Cassandra, perhaps worried about the type disadvantage, tries to calm her mind, to great success. Aires uses a Charge, storing troves of electrical energy in its puff for the next attack.

Cassandra, still calming herself, seems to be unaware that the battle is going on. Aires fires off a Thunderstorm (Thunder + Thunder), which misses Cassandra due to not having any room to aim.

Cassandra calms herself once more, seeming as calm as physically possible. Aires cools down from its failed combination.

I almost feel bad reffing this right now. Almost...

Anyways, Cassandra taunts Aires about how overly screwed it is, while Aires just uses a Shock Wave, to at least guarantee some damage.

"Too bad for him your kind occur in caves, Cassandra."

Cassandra - Taunt | Odor Sleuth | Thunder Wave

Cassandra, still riding strong after a swift knockout, taunts Triton about how he can't do anything. Triton was so miffed about it that he couldn't do anything.

Cassandra, using her other senses now that the light source is gone, sniffs out Triton with Odor Sleuth. The Horsea then shoots off an Ice Beam blindly into the dark. The beam was able to find its way to Cassandra after rounding a few corners (don't as how, it's Pokemon), and caused big damage by hitting Cassandra's weak spot.

Cassandra, still enjoying her status moves, fires off a Thunder Wave at Triton, causing Triton to be Paralyzed. Triton fires off another Ice Beam, but misses due to the endless darkness in the Labyrinth.

"You're beginning to get tired; I ask only for your best effort."

Cassandra - Attract | chill | Calm Mind
If Triton hits with Ice Beam on action 1, insert a Roost on the action after and push the queue down.

Lou: Crits will hit through any boosts your opponent has, so even at +6, a crit hits you like you're at +0

Ranger: You never said you got in the water, for all I know, you sent Horsea out onto one of the platforms

Triton, prepared to dodge any attack from Cassandra, jumps into the water and uses Agility to dodge the next attack. Cassandra, like some sort of nymphomaniac, tries to make the Horsea like her, but it fails due to them being in different egg groups.

Cassandra's feeling tired and rejected, so she simply lands on one of the platforms and chills. Triton tried to burn Cassandra with Scald, but couldn't move due to being paralyzed.

Cassandra then decides to refresh her boosts with a Calm Mind, boosted due to her simplistic nature. Triton fires off a Water Pulse, causing little damage due to Cassandra's many boosts.
