2day dq
I'll take you, Texas. That's three Scramblers I've battled. Lost against Dummy, and am probably going to lose against Random, but maybe the third time's the charm? Nah.

No Items
All abilities
No recovers, no chills.

I'll just leave the arena up to the ref, I'm not feeling particularly creative atm.
Arena: Airship Fortress
The battle takes place on a huge wooden airship that’s currently high up in the sky. As such, there is no external water source. There are piles of cannonballs in the corners of the arena that can be used as rocks for moves like Rock Slide; however, there is no grass for moves like Grass Knot.

At the end of every round, a Bullet Bill will be fired at each pokemon (including ones that have just been KO’d). The Bullet Bills will hit during the following round on action 1 or 2 (a 50:50 chance of each for each Bullet Bill) at priority -0.5. Once it hits, a Bullet Bill explodes (treat this as a 20 BAP physical normal-type attack from rank 5 attack) and is gone for good. However, the following countermeasures exist:
  • If the pokemon being targeted by a Bullet Bill uses Dig, Dive, Bounce, Fly, Shadow Force, Sky Drop, evasive Agility, Teleport or the Dodge command on that action (including any sustained evasive actions for those moves that get them), or if another pokemon uses Sky Drop on that pokemon in that action, the Bullet Bill will miss completely and fly off into the night.
  • Any pokemon can destroy any Bullet Bill by targeting it with an attack or attacks that do at least 15 damage to it (treat the Bullet Bill as a Steel-type with rank 3 in both defensive stats and the abilities Clear Body and Levitate); however, if the move that destroys a Bullet Bill is a contact move not named U-Turn, the pokemon that used that attack will take half the normal Bullet Bill damage (that is, half the actual damage, not half the BAP). Also, all attacks that target the Bullet Bill cannot hit anyone else, even if they would normally hit multiple targets.
  • The moves Sky Drop, Seismic Toss, Circle Throw, Vital Throw and Storm Throw can be used on any action to redirect one and only one Bullet Bill to an opponent as long as the pokemon using the move can use it on a pokemon with a weight class of 5. The ability Rebound can also do this, but only on the action when the Bullet Bill would normally hit, and the weight class restriction does not apply in this case. In all cases, a move that redirects a Bullet Bill does no damage to it. The redirected Bullet Bill will hit its new target on the action after it was redirected, which may be action 1 of the following round. Each Bullet Bill may only be redirected once.
  • Protect and Detect do protect the pokemon from Bullet Bill damage, but this damage is still factored into the energy cost of the move.
  • If a pokemon has a Substitute up when it is hit by one or more Bullet Bills, the Substitute blocks the damage from one Bullet Bill only, and the Bullet Bill destroys the Substitute regardless of how much damage it would normally do to the pokemon.
  • If a round ends early for any reason, any pokemon who still haven’t dealt with the Bullet Bills heading towards them automatically use the Dodge command once to dodge them all (and pay the full energy cost). If a pokemon does not have enough energy to use the Dodge command, it doesn’t bother and instead gets hit by the Bullet Bills as normal.

Run Away does not allow the Pokemon to switch out of trapping moves or abilities, however it can escape other situational trapping strategies in battle

Psychic-type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.

Abilities:
Oblivious (Innate): This Pokemon is incapable of being affected by Attract, Cute Charm, or Captivate.
Own Tempo (Innate): This Pokemon moves at its own pace and when confused, it will never harm itself in confusion. If the Pokemon also has Tangled Feet, it will raise Accuracy by one (1) Stage.

Steel: Steel STAB; immune to Sandstorm, highly insusceptible to toxic attacks, but can be corroded specifically by Acid and Acid Spray, can be magnetized. Superior senses in high-metal environments like construction sites or factories.

Abilities:
Rock Head (Innate): This Pokemon’s hard body prevents it from taking recoil damage from moves such as Double-Edge, Flare Blitz, and Head Smash.
Sturdy (Innate): This Pokemon’s body is solidly constructed, reducing the Base Attack Power from an opponents incoming attacks by one (1). The effect is amplified on OHKO Moves, which are reduced by ten (10) Base Attack Power.
(DW) Sheer Force (Can be Enabled) *Unlocked*: This Pokemon can energize all its attacks with secondary effect chances less than 100%. When Enabled, the Base Attack Power of every move with an effect chance less than 100% increases by two (2), but they will never have a secondary effect.

Intimidate: (Can be Activated) When this Pokemon initially goes out into the battlefield, it generates an intimidating roar or war cry that shakes all opponents on the battlefield, reducing thier Attack stage by one (1). Flying: Flying STAB; immunity to Ground attacks except under the effects of Smack Down and Gravity, even for ground-based flying Pokemon. Enhanced aerial mobility. Superior senses in open air arenas.

Abilities:

(e.g. Aerial Ace goes from 6 to 9, Mach Punch goes from 4 to 6, etc.) The Energy Cost for a one-hit or two-hit attack is increased by one (1). Each hit in a multi-hit move is boosted by one (1) Base Attack Power, and the Energy Cost for multi-hit attacks is increased by two (2). Because Technician is a multiplier on single hit moves, its effect is applied to Base Attack Power before any additive effects.
Steadfast (DW): (innate) If this Pokemon is flinched, it becomes aware of the speed difference and increases Speed by one (1) stage to make up the difference. This Speed boost is maintained at the end of each round.

Curiously enough, I always enjoyed the airship levels, especially in NSMBWii.

Good luck, Texas, and may the best Scrambler win.

Also this is more a reminder to me than to you, but I'll post it here anyway. Luxray's Rivalry only kicks in against other pokemon in the Ground egg group and the only other pokemon in the Ground egg group on either team is HulaCloverPig.

Doduo: Brave Bird+Brave bird Volcarona
Pignite: Head Smash+Head Smash Volcorona
Steelix: Stone Edge, Rock Blast (I am assuming based on the below substitution that these are directed at Volcarona)

Carlos: Thunder Fang Doduo, Wild Charge Slowbro (I'm gonna assume you mean SlowKING)

Sarah: Will-o-Wisp Carlos (You read that right; that should activate Guts), Psychic Pignite

Harvey: Fiery Dance Steelix, Hyper Beam Doduo

Lloyd: Night Slash Slowbro x2 (again, I'm gonna assume you mean SlowKING)
IF Pignite uses Heat Crash on you, replace action with Counter
Flavour

Today we are on one of King Bowser Koopa's airships having a 4-on-4 pokemon battle. And all the pokemon are released at once! Texas Cloverleaf has brought Hula the Pignite, Pecker the Doduo, Ivory the Slowking and Cannon the Steelix, while Galladiator will be using Carlos the Luxray, Sarah the Gardevoir, Harvey the Volcarona and Lloyd the Scyther. Immediately, Carlos shoots an intimidating glare at all four of his opponents. They're looking a little nervous now.

And they're off! Lloyd is quick off the mark as he Night Slashes Ivory with his blade-like appendages, and Harvey follows up by performing a Fiery Dance. Fire starts shooting from the flaming bug and Cannon is the one who takes the brunt of the attack. Carlos continues the assault by chomping down on Pecker with a Thunder Fang, but then is suddenly burned by a nasty Will-O-Wisp! Why did Sarah do that? Does she hate Carlos? Or is there something I'm not ... oh, the Luxray is now looking much more invigorated! Perhaps that burn had something to do with it?

Team Texas Cloverleaf is annoyed at the speed of Team Galladiator, but now it's their turn to dish out some damage. And it is Cannon who starts by slashing at Harvey with his Stone Edge, dealing critical damage to the Volcarona in the process. Then, right out of nowhere, Pecker unleashes a Super Brave Bird on that same Volcarona! The attack hurt the Doduo a little bit as well, but not as much as Harvey was injured. It looks like he's now working overtime to try and defeat his opponents. Hula charges towards him, trying to knock him right out of the airship with a Super Head Smash, but unfortunately he misses completely and barely avoids falling off the edge of the airship himself! But what's Ivory doing? ?nwod gniwols si emit ekil leef ti seod yhw dnA OH! I think we're caught in a Trick Room now! This should help make up for Team Texas Cloverleaf's speed deficit.

It does indeed, as Cannon and Ivory finish off Harvey by Rock Blasting and Scalding it respectively. Hula and Pecker, however, are too worn out from their previous attacks to do anything, so they just cool down for a bit. Sarah, however, is not letting Hula cool down at all and she uses her Psychic powers to knock him silly! But now what are Carlos and Lloyd doing? Oh, they're flanking Ivory to strike her weak spots with a Wild Charge and Night Slash! Very clever, I must say.

Oh, I hear the sound of Bullet Bill cannons being fired! Eight of them to be precise, and six of those Bullet Bills look like they're about to hit! The other two seem to be lagging behind a bit, but if the remaining seven pokemon don't do something about them soon, they'll be blasted into next week!

Flavour

Despite the loudness of the Bullet Bill cannons, it looks like all the pokemon are completely ignoring the incoming Bullet Bills! Cannon and Ivory are focused on taking out Sarah by Crunching down on her and shooting a Thunderbolt at her. The Steelix's attack actually strikes the Gardevoir in a weak spot, but that isn't enough to knock her out yet. Hula, disappointed at his powerful attack missing last time, elects to use a weaker Head Smash against Lloyd. The attack still does incredible damage to both pokemon though. Pecker decides to assist Cannon and Ivory by striking from the shadows with a Faint Attack. Despite their combined efforts, though, Sarah is still fighting fit.

And she retaliates on Ivory by hurling a Shadow Ball at her, and then Carlos Crunches her much like Cannon crunched Sarah before. Lloyd wants in on the action and, once again, strikes with a Night Slash. Again, however, three pokemon just cannot bring down one, and the Slowking stands, albeit much weaker than before. And then it happens. Five Bullet Bills find their marks. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! Pecker takes a nasty hit and almost falls down. Carlos, Sarah and Lloyd also take significant damage from the Bullet Bills, but Ivory takes so much damage from hers that she faints! This is starting to get interesting.

Cannon and Hula continue with their previous tactics by Crunching and Head Smashing their previous targets. Lloyd barely hangs on and Sarah is starting to look battered. A close-range attack from a Brave Bird Pecker doesn't help at all, but a Thunderbolt from the Gardevoir is all it takes to prevent the Doduo from ever trying to do that again. Team Texas Cloverleaf might have just lost their lead. Carlos and Lloyd go after their remaining two opponents without much thought. Carlos makes some Sparks fly by tackling Hula, while Lloyd's fourth Night Slash in a row leaves very little impression on Cannon. The remaining Bullet Bills, on the other hand, leave a considerable dent in the Steelix while the Pignite is knocked flying by his one and does not get back up. Suddenly it's become 3 on 1! Can Texas Cloverleaf and Cannon pull this off? Or has Team Galladiator come back from an early setback?

It seems like the Bullet Bill cannons have their own ideas. The ones heading for Team Galladiator all seem slower than the one heading for Cannon. How will this affect the battle?

So yeah, basically everybody spam the attack I call.

Flavour

Cannon, now fighting against the odds, builds up a super powerful attack to unleash on all three of his opponents, but a nasty Ice Fang from Carlos strikes him in a weak spot and disrupts his focus! It doesn't help that Sarah's Focus Blast and Lloyd's Brick Break strike true as well. And to top it all off, he is struck by a Bullet Bill! Oh no, this is not looking good for Texas Cloverleaf at all!

But then it all turns around. Cannon strikes with a weaker Earthquake than he had hoped, but this is enough to throw Sarah's Focus Blast off completely. Her attack misses! The combined efforts of Carlos' Ice Fang and Lloyd's Brick Break are not enough to bring down the weakened iron snake, but the Bullet Bills that strike the entire Team Galladiator are certainly enough to bring down two of them! Now it's down to Carlos vs. Cannon. And it looks like Carlos is going to be hit by a Bullet Bill before Cannon is! Are we about to witness an epic comeback?
