[Overview]

<p>There are three distinct things Corsola can do very well: look incredibly cute, hold up towns in southern Hoenn, and be an incredible niche counter to Swellow. Corsola's defensive typing isn't the best, and its defensive stats are nothing short of average; however, Corsola does have two amazing abilities in Natural Cure and Regenerator. Unfortunately for Corsola, its great movepool means nothing when it can barely damage the opponent outside of Toxic, and Corsola will not be outrunning anything at all with its incredibly paltry Speed.</p>

<p>Even with Corsola's giant movepool, this is its best attempt at a set. Spamming Recover is the best thing to do if Corsola hopes to stall anything with those lessthanstellardefenses, and is undoubtedly the crux of this set. Toxic is almost just as important as Recover, as it is the only way Corsola can ever deal anything resembling damage to anything that does not have a 4x weakness to Water- or Rock-type moves. In fact, the only reason the two attacks are even included on the set are to stop Corsola from being helpless against a Taunt user like Murkrow. Surf is the stronger of the two moves, but Power Gem can nail Swellow hard, as well as keep Dry Skin Jynx at bay. As always, Stealth Rock is one of the best support moves in the entire game, and allows Corsola to do something remotely useful for your team. Reflect allows Corsola to increase its physical durability (as in, it can now take neutral hits) as well as supporting its teammates. Mirror Coat can catch a special attacker off-guard and nab a surprise KO, but usually leaves Corsola with little health remaining, and it can easily be forced out.</p>

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

<p>The given EV spread and nature maximize Corsola's specially defensive capabilities while still increasing Corsola's physical bulk. An alternative EV spread of 244 HP / 216 Def/ 48 SpD can be used if you want to focus on physical defense. Leftovers are the standard item for any wall. The choice between Natural Cure and Regenerator is down to personal preference; Natural Cure gives Corsola a pseudo-immunity to Toxic, while Regenerator restores HP every time Corsola switches out. In terms of other moves, Scald has a chance cripple physical attackers, but it conflicts with Toxic at the same time.</p>

<p>As Corsola can only be successful when the opponent's strongest attackers are gone, offensive juggernauts, such as Swellow and Absol, make great partners to Corsola, as they can easily dispose of many of the opponent's strongest attackers, leaving only walls to deal with Corsola. Exeggutor, especially the Choice Specs variant, also makes a great partner due to good defensive type synergy between the two, as well as the fact that, like Swellow and Absol, Exeggutor can leave gaping holes in the opponent's team that make it harder to break through Corsola. Misdreavus also makes a great partner to Corsola as not only does it cover Corsola's weakness to Fighting-types like Sawk, but can provide Heal Bell support as well, allowing Corsola to use Regenerator as its ability without fear of being whittled down by Toxic. Magmortar can incinerate any Grass-types that attempt to exploit Corsola's massive weakness to Grass-type moves, as well as being able to check one of Corsola's worst enemies: Jynx.Garbodor also makes a good partner to Corsola, as its Toxic Spikes can save Corsola the trouble of having to poison the opponent itself, helps whittle down the opponent's team, and also provides regular Spikes so Corsola can Toxic-stall the opponent more easily.</p>

[Other Options]

<p>Corsola may have a slew of other options to use, but none of then can be effectively used. Corsola can use Amnesia to bolster its Special Defense to incredibly high levels, but due to Corsola being very easy to phaze out, the boosts are easy to get rid of. Calm Mind can raise Corsola's Special Defense along with its Special Attack, allowing it to actually deal damage, but as with Amnesia, Corsola is still easily phazed out, and Calm Mind's boosts do not accumulate fast enough to win any stat-boosting wars with the likes of Jynx and Mesprit. Corsola can support its team with dual screens instead of just Reflect, but other dual screen users, such as Mesprit or Gardevoir, are almost always more effective. Physical attacking sets are incredibly gimmicky, but Hustle can take the opponent by surprise by demolishing something frail with Head Smash (keep in mind that Corsola does not have access to Waterfall). Curse can be used to dent the opponent with Head Smash after a few boosts. Finally, Rock Polish can be used to boost Corsola's abysmal Speed, allowing Corsola to outspeed almost every wall in NU.</p>

[Checks and Counters]

<p>Unfortunately for Corsola, the list of Pokemon that can check or counter it is quite long. Unless the Pokemon is walled by Rock-types, or has a large weakness to the attacking move Corsola decides to use, it can most likely find a way to break through Corsola.</p>

Hustle Corsola could actually be not terribad. 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def Adamant gets Corsola an approximate 107 base Attack and bulk that's not awful. Corsola's movepool isn't incredibly supportive of it, though; despite having a stupidly wide movepool (seriously guys look at it it's so colorful @_@), it misses out on waterfall, meaning that it has to stick with Rock Slide if it wants STAB that doesn't miss 1/3 of the time. In any case, something like Rock Slide/EQ/Sucker Punch/Icicle Spear (for grass types and sub mons) could be viable.

Such a pity that hail is gone from the tier; this was actually kind of ok when it was around.

Sorry if I'm too late for it, but I just looked this up due to my friend Keiran just recently getting me into Corsola. For the Wall set(Its not that bad actually) Consider this

• 244 HP EVs is very little to give up from 252 and makes Corsola's HP divisible by three, maximizing the HP gained from Regenerator. The Bold nature + 216 Def hits a jump point and makes use of Corsola's resistances as a Rock-type, like for instance taking care of Swellow(Facade from Standard Swellow does only 32% - 38%, a 3-4 HKO), while the rest is dumped into SDef to balance it as much as possible.

• Power Gem is an option to prevent a Dry Skin Jynx from setting up on you, since they usually carry Sub. It also cleans up Swellow since a weak Scald won't do anything.(Well its actually a 3HKO Vs. 2HKO, but meh)

• As for teammates, I'm been trying Specs Eggy as they cover each others weaknesses except for Dark and Ghost and a free switch to Specs Eggy can mean an easy kill. Also Misdreavus as it is immune to Fighting and takes care of Sawk that gives Corsola hell as well as support it by having Heal Bell to make up for Corsola's lack of Natural Cure.
