Noctowl

[Overview]
- Good stats on paper but not so good in practice.
- Weak to common attacking types (Ice/Rock/Electric), Only neutral to fighting, but resists Grass and Bug which gives it options.
- Grass resist + Sleep immune = Good against common grasses.
- Good support movepool that gives it more viable options than last gen.

[SET]
name: Specially Defensive
move 1: Roost
move 2: Whirlwind
move 3: Air Slash / Night Shade
move 4: Toxic / Reflect / Magic Coat
item: Leftovers
ability: Insomnia
nature: Calm
evs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SDef

[SET COMMENTS]
- Becomes very bulky on the special side with the given EVS.
- 248 HP Evs to allow 4 SR switchins
- Imsomnia makes it one of the very few mons that isn't royally screwed by sleep moves.
- Air Slash will still hit the things it can wall for decent damage. Night shade hits other things harder.
- Can act as a decent phazer for CMers that don't carry a super effective move eg Serperior with HP fire.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]
- Last move is flexible. Reflect lets it do well against things like Leafeon. Magic coat for turning back taunts and hazards. Can also use light screen, hypnosis or Protect.
- While the set is very bulky it must be careful of switching into HP Ice or Specs neutral moves.
- And EV spread of 252 HP / 120 SDef / 136 Spe lets it beat all variants of Specsgutor.
- This set has difficulty with some special threats and less difficulty with others. Partnering it with another bulky Pokemon such as Quagsire let them cover each other's weaknesses.
- Loves Rapid Spin support as it lets it beat some extra threats. Armaldo likes have grasses taken out and can spin for Noctowl.
- Tentacool can lay toxic spikes as well as rapid spin and as such makes a decent partner for noctowl.

[Other Options]
- Can try to run an offensive set thanks to Tinted Lens from Dream World but only gets Work Up to boosts it's offenses.
- Access to Psych Up, while gimmicky, can let it capitalise on CMers.
- Psycho Shift
- Swagger / Feather Dance
- Screens

[Checks and Counters]
- Anything physical can come in and KO.
- Super effective special moves can still wreck havok.
- Taunt

Taken over from Somalia, right?

Switch air slash with night shade imo.

Last slot looks iffy but maybe that's just me.

The reason I'm going Air Slash over Night Shade is that Noctowl shouldn't really be in on stuff that it doesn't hit super effectively.

And yes.

I would probably deslash Magic Coat and put it in AC instead, just to simplify things.

Otherwise, this is OK.
