At any rate, for the first time in ages, I'm reffing something not Timeless Tower! Welcome to Black Sulfur Caldera, & today's Challenger is user MrcRanger97! Let's see what he decided to bring to this TLR...

Nature: Modest (+1 SpA, -1 Atk)
Type: Electric/Dragon
Electric: Electric STAB; 50% reduction in paralysis chance from other electrical attacks, perfect accuracy and 30% chance of Protect breaking Thunder during Rain. Superior senses in power plant environments.
Dragon: Dragon STAB; more in touch with legendary or special auras in arenas. Able to use Thrash without losing focus.

Abilities:
Shield Dust: (Innate) This pokemon has dust covering the outside of its body that prevents opponents secondary effects from taking place (eg burn from Flamethrower). It does not block direct status moves (such as Thunder Wave.)
Static: (Innate) This pokemon’s body is surrounded by an electric field that has a 30% chance of paralyzing opponents that use contact moves on this pokemon.
Overcoat: (Innate)
This Pokemon has a sturdy exterior that rebuffs the elements, making it immune to damage inflicted by bad weather. If the Pokemon is already immune to at least one (1) kind of weather by typing or a different ability, Overcoat reduces the Base Attack Power of all oncoming attacks by one (1).

Fighting: Fighting STAB; ignore weight restrictions of throwing/grappling moves. Superior reaction time in close quarters.

Abilities:
Shed Skin: (Innate) This Pokemon regularly sheds its skin and any impurities contained in its body. If afflicted with a status condition, this Pokemon has a 33% chance of removing all status conditions at the end of a round.
Air Lock: (Innate) This Pokemon releases immense barometric pressure, clearing the weather in the arena and preventing the effect of weather moves and abilities from taking place.
Mummy (DW Locked): (Innate) This Pokemon's skin has a lasting curse on it. When strucky by an opponents contact move, the curse transfers, changing the opponent's ability(ies) to Mummy for the next six (6) actions.

BLACK SULFUR CALDERA

Black Sulfur Caldera is a deep and blackened pit that once erupted in a massive fiery explosion many hundreds of years ago. The terrain is now mostly barren with torched and odorous burns across its face. Nothing lives within miles of the area, not even Fire-type Pokemon, as the land is so inhospitable that very little can sustain life above ground. At the base of the caldera, however, there exists a small pit that recently opened up due to seismic activity. Some Pokemon trainers have ventured into the pit to explore, only to return with their whole Pokemon team fainted and them babbling nonsense about the magma demon therein. Intrigued, you prepare your Pokemon and decide to explore it yourself. Hopefully you'll find yourself better prepared than those others before you...What will you do?

Black Sulfur Caldera - Boulder Maze

As you enter the Caldera, you instantly find yourself in near pitch-black darkness. You are forced to tread carefully, as one wrong step here could result in an injury or something, even though you can barely make out the walls. As you continue to search the place, trying to find the end, you end up barely making out two little critters who seem to be used to this darkness. You try to ask them for help, but the two critters, who turn out to be an Aron & a Larvitar, see you as an intruder & start attacking you immediately, forcing you to send in three Pokemon! Battle Begin!

Arena Rules:
-Arena Type: Cave
-No water source present.
-The darkeness of the arena means most Pokemon can't aim properly. As a result, all Pokemon that are not of the Rock, Ground, or Dark types have a permanent -1 Accuracy while in this arena.

Black Sulfur Caldera - Boulder Maze

Opening the bill of events, Pride wastes no time in firing a mystical beam from his eyes which hits Aron & makes him fall asleep. Aires then begins an offensive assault by using his cloud to assist him in firing a powerful jet of water which blasts Larvitar & knocks her back several centimetres. Hoenhiem continues the assault by swinging his arm & bashing the Aron hith it, dealing a lot of damage, as the Lackeys started their assault. Larvitar threw a rock at Pride which knocked him down to the ground, & then the Aron woke up & slammed his head into Pride, hurting him more.

Gengar, shaken by the assault, lets off embers at the Larvitar, but the darkness lets Pride down, & it misses. Aires then fires another powerful jet of water which blasts Larvitar & knocks her back a long way, because she was hit critically. Hoenhiem then swings his arm again, stiking the Aron for more damage, but suddenly the Aron & Larvitar got together & jumped in unison, before slamming their feet to the ground at the same time, synchronising their attacks & causing a massive tremour which deals massive damage to your team, & the Lackeys were unscathed by the attack!

Round end, & while you dealt massive damage to the Lackeys, Pride is already in danger of fainting! Issue your actions.

Black Sulfur Caldera - Boulder Maze

The Lackeys start the first action fast with Larvitar bracing itself, & Aron throwing up a barrier. Pride, annoyed about Aron being awake, tries to fire another sleep-inducing ray to Aron, but it ends up bouncing off Aron's Barrier, as Aires fires draconic energy at Larvitar, hitting, but Larvitar then unveiled her second wind, mystically surviving the attack! Not bothered about all the fracas, Hoenhiem shrugs it all off & takes a break, resting his body while he has the chance.

Pride, assuming Aron was asleep, tries to enter Aron's mind, but the fact that Aron's awake meant that it was impossible to enter. Aires, in the meantime, decides it's also a good time to take a break, yawning & resting his body, healing himself, as Hoenhiem picks up the assault on Aron, striking him with a fist & draining some life force from Aron, but Aron survived, when suddenly, the two Lackeys teamed up again & synchronised their attacks, creating another massive tremour which batters your team. Pride found this too much & ends up falling, a victim of the Lackey's assaults. Depressing...

Round end, & without Pride to help you, things have gone from bad to worse! And the worst part is that this is only the first battle of the TLR...What can you do to get back on track? Issue your actions.

Black Sulfur Caldera - Smoke Geysers

After your brief skirmish with the lackeys, you continue your way through the maze, feeling at unease over the darkness, & the fact that you have to use the walls you can barely make out as a guide. Eventually, after a while, you see light at the end of the tunnel! What could this be? You rush towards it, & indeed, you find light! But, however, what you end up in, is an area more open than the others with numerous holes poking out of the ground. You approach them cautiously, and suddenly find that they erupt at random and let out intensely overheated smoke that prevents you from seeing effectively. You need to get by, and you can either creep around carefully or dive through them. What do you do?

a) Creep around and avoid the geysers.
b) Charge through the geysers.

Continuing your way through the darkness, & using the dark walls as a guide, you suddenly come across a small crack in the rocky maze that appears to lead to another, deeper segment of the cavern complex. You can't quite tell what is down that path, but just being near the crack makes you feel an intense heat wash over you and your team. It's definitely out of the way for you to travel this way, but maybe something valuable lies in wait for the daring adventurer at the end of the tunnel. What do you do?

a) Explore the hidden crevice.

Continuing on through the wretched maze of endless darkness, you suddenly notice that it was starting to become noticeably hotter...Noticing this, you assume that something's going to happen 'around-the-corner', you tread with even more caution than before, & as you round the right-hand corner, you see more light at the end of the tunnel, & maybe, just maybe, you've finally found your way out of the maze! Rushing towards the exit, you make it & come across another room.

Walking down the stairs of this room, you notice that this is the hottest it has been yet. Examining this underground place, you see a pool of lava nearby, & an exit to your right, down another flight of stairs. With the heat so stifling, you feel that it is the best opportunity to run towards the exit & you do, until...

"HALT! WHO GOES THERE!!!"

You suddenly stop, hearing a loud voice in your head, & you scan the place, wondering where the voice came from.

"YOU DARE INVADE OUR TERRITORY, YOU SHALL PAY FOR THIS!"

All of a sudden, a firey being of magma bursts out of the magma & points its cannon-shaped arm at you, like a pistol-armed police officer shouting "Freeze!" It forces you away from the exit & into the centre of the room, where it was accompanied by a rock-behemoth. The two advance, & you are forced to send in your Pokemon, ready to try & fend off these mercaneries! Battle Begin!

Arena Rules:

-Arena Type: Cave
-No external water source present.
-A constant, unalterable Stifling Heat will take place in the arena, possessing the same features as regular Sunny Day.
-Every five (5) rounds of combat, a Pokemon will burst forth from the lava to join the enemy team in battle.

IAR: Where the hell did you get 450 in the Catch Rate formula? The Ball Rate for a Heal Ball below 50% HP is only 1x.

Capture Formula

ASB uses the exact same capture formula as in-game, except at the upper and lower extremities. The minimum value for a Pokemon's Capture Rate is 7, while the maximum is 150. This means that ASB will also use the same capture rates for the Pokemon, as listed on websites like Serebii or Veekun. Pikachu has a capture rate of 190, for example, which is lowered to 150. This also means that the type of Poke Ball you buy matters, as it has a Ball Rate that factors into the formula. Here's a crash course in Pokemon capturing math. The only difference in ASB is that since you can inflict multiple status effects on a Pokemon, the 'status number' in the capture formula is equal to the single highest status number of all status inflicted on the Pokemon, not the addition of status numbers.

Finally, Pokemon at their full health have a capture rate of 7, regardless of their ordinary capture rate.

Which means, following the calculator:

(( 1 + ( MaxHP × 3 - CurrentHP × 2 ) × CatchRate × BallRate × Status# ) ÷ ( MaxHP × 3 )) ÷ 256

(( 1 + ( 270 - 16 ) × 150 × 1 × 1.5 ) ÷ ( 270 )) ÷ 256

Or (1 + (254 * 225)) / 270 = 211.67 / 256 = 0.8268, or 82.7%.

Your calculation has it at 165% for some reason.
 
Somehow, I forgot that Heal Ball only works at 2x when the target is >50%...Again...Making changes...I also tend to concise the catch rate by grouping the Max HP-Current HP together, & the Ball Rate, Catch Rate, & Status together as well.

Also, MrcRanger, with Air Lock vs. Constant, unalterable weather, the weather still remains; It simply has no effect while a Pokemon with Air Lock is on the field. I've reffed zarator long enough to know this.

That said, I'll ref soon, thanks for the catch DK, I have absolutely no idea what I was smoking.

With the Stifling Heat blanketed out, you go into battle fairly confident, but the unknown of it all, really wasn't going to do you any favours here...

Magmortar wastes no time getting into action by using telepathic energy to lift Hoenhiem into the air & slamming him into one of the hot walls, as Aires, still exhausted from last battle, takes a break. Hoenhiem rushes back & wallops Gigalith with a fist, rejuvenating Hoenhiem a bit, as Kimbly tries to crash into Magmortar, but trips over a rock...Poor thing...Gigalith then pounces onto Hoenhiem, jumping & belly-flopping his entire body into Hoenhiem, crushing him against his weight.

Magmortar continues to annoy everyone by unleashing a wave of fire which stifles your team, & striking Aires critically. Aires responds by using water from his cloud & unleashing a powerful jet of water at Magmortar, but suddenly, you realise that as the attack nears Magmortar, the attack had evapourated by a fair bit! How this could've happened, you don't know, but the jet strikes Magmortar, but he took a lot less damage than usual...Something's not right...Anyways, Hoenhiem continues to pummel Gigalith, striking him with a fist & healing himself a bit more, as Kimbly tries to bash Magmortar again, but like before, tripped over a random rock...Poor Kimbly...Capping off the round, one of Gigalith's limbs enveloped a rocky aura, which he then used to strike Hoenhiem for more damage, as the round comes to an end.

With the round done, it's been fairly rough for you, but how longer can Hoenhiem hold on? Issue your actions.

Black Sulfur Caldera - Magma Cavern

Aires begins the round by going into a state where he starts storing energy, as Magmortar lifts Hoenhiem up with telepathic energy, & trusts him into a far wall, striking critically & leaving Hoenhiem in a very bad way. So Hoenhiem strikes back by telepathically creating ties between himself & the two Guardians! What could Hoenhiem be preparing? It doesn't look pretty, but we'll see what happens soon enough...Anyways, Kimbly, seeing Hoenhiem in danger, tends to it & throws up a protective barrier which he passes onto Hoenhiem. Gigalith sees this & instead of attacking, turns his attention to Aires & strikes him with a rocky, aura-enveloped limb.

As Aires continues in his state, Magmortar uses telepathic energy to lift Hoenhiem into the air once more, & slams him into a wall & finishing him off. But suddenly, the ties snap & Magmortar suffers a massive shock, dealing massive damage! Nevertheless, Kimbly then slams into Gigalith with his head, dealing a bit of damage, as Gigalith rounds out the round by piling rocks onto the heads of your remaining team members, hitting Kimbly, but missing Aires.

With the round & Hoenhiem gone, the arena suddenly becomes very hot again! What can you do? Issue your actions.

Black Sulfur Caldera - Magma Cavern

Getting ready for a sweltering few rounds, Aires unleashes all his energy & sends it at Gigalith, dealing a lot of damage to him, while Kimbly rams into Magmortar, walloping him & dealing heaps of damage. Gigalith then pounds Aires with a powerful limb of rock, as Magmortar fires a powerful, massive, DBZ-Style beam of cold energy, which blasts Aires & deals so much damage, Aires was unable to endure the hit & collapses, leaving only Kimbly to fend for himself in the heat.

As Magmortar recovers from such a powerful attack, Kimbly senses an opportunity to take out Magmortar, & takes it, ramming into Magmortar again at full force, & knocking him out, but Kimbly does get a painful burn from it...Until he eats up part of his Rawst Berry. All in the meanwhile, Gigalith sets up & sheds half his weight & makes himself dramatically faster than before!

Only Kimbly remains, but with Magmortar knocked out, maybe...Just maybe...Issue your actions.
