Hey guys, this is my 2nd RMT after my famous Wreck and Destroy (Peaked #1). After my success of conquering the OU ladder and people using the team, knowing how to play me, and after some dropdown & hax, ladder became hell to me. I decided to make a new team, something more different than Turn/Switch. Coming up with the idea of a more different team than HO, weather, stall or BP was not easy. The idea came after several events, like the old Jirachi I used in DPP, Moxie Salamence trolling ladder and after battling with one of my best friends, X5 Dragon, the team came to life.

The purpose of this team is to set screens and support my main sweeper, Terrakion, to clean the field. Getting this team to 1400s was not easy considering Volt/Switch was abused and hax trolling me, neverless under the alt of Motagua[Test] it reached 1432 points, after a dropdown, which is a feat for me in an offensive metagame.

The Team:

jirachi.jpg

Estrella (Jirachi) @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 164 HP / 168 Atk / 176 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
Moves:

  • Iron Head: Jirachi´s main STAB to abuse. It has an excellent 60% flinch rate thanks to Serene Grace and trolls slower pokemons preventing them from moving. With Thunder Wave it is even better, leaving the opponent with only a 30% to move.
  • Substitute: It alllows Jirachi to hide under a decoy scouting status moves and use Thunder Wave safely, without worrying about getting damaged.
  • Fire Punch: It perfectly complements the strategy and gives decent coverage with Iron Head. It hits the troublesome pokemons like Ferrothorn & Forretress that would otherwise wall Jirachi and 2HKOs them (outside Rain). Fire Punch will also OHKO Scizor after SR considering most of them stay thinking it is a bulky set, and it will OHKO Lucario after a CC Defense Drop. Also Magnezone can only 3HKO with Thunderbolt and since Jirachi is faster, he will 3HKO first :).
  • Thunder Wave: This move makes Jirachi a really annoying haxer. It paralyzes switch-ins like Heatran, Infernape, Ninetails, Rotom-w, etc, and works perfectly with Iron Head leaving the oponent with only a 30% chance to move. Under a Substitute is even better since it will let you paralyze the foe safely. Thunder Wave also cripples fast Scarfers vulnerable to this move, facilitating Terrakion´s sweep.
Why this pokemon?
Jirachi is an excellent supporter for the team by paralyzing the foe allowing Terrakion to outspeed dangerous scarfers like Rotom-w and avoid Speed ties with Infernape.
EVs, Nature and Item
If you played DPP OU, you will remember this is the old Para-flinch set of Jirachi. The new one sucks badly considering Gengar could 2HKO with LO Shadow Ball. With 164 HP EVs, Jirachi can take powerful hits like Modest Hydro Pump from Rotom-w, Gengar´s Shadow Ball, Scizor´s banded U-turn. 168 Atk EVs still gives you a decent Attack stat to flinch to death the opponent. The 176 Speed EVs with Jolly nature, allows you to outspeed positive 90-base Speed-stat pokemon and slower like Deo-D, Rotom-w, Dragonite and others, paralyzing and flinching them to death. (Its epic flinching a Scarf Rotom-w to death with a handy Sandstorm :D).

egwjo7.png

El Patron (Heatran) (M) @ Air Balloon
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
Moves:

  • Fire Blast: Heatran´s main STAB move dealing insane damage to anything that doesnt resist it, a pink blob, or has Flash Fire.
  • Earth Power: Excellent move that complements Fire Blast, hitting Fire-types like opposing Heatrans and the pokemons that resist Fire Blast. The Sp.def drop sometimes comes in handy in certain scenarios!
  • Stealth Rock: Heatran is able to set-up rocks that keeps pokemon like Dragonite & Volcarona at bay. The Air Balloon just gives him more chances to set them up.
  • Hidden Power [Ice]: With the Air Balloon, Heatran becomes an excellent counter for Dragonite considering that after SR, it OHKOs him. It also hits Gliscor without relying on Fire Blast´s accuracy.
Why this pokemon?
Heatran is one the most reliable Stealth Rock users thanks to the Air Balloon and his decent defenses that allows him to take hits, scout Ground attacks and set rocks. Also it covers my DD Dragonite weakness by murdering him with an HP Ice.
EVs, Nature and Item
Air Balloon gives Heatran more chances to set-up Stealth Rock before it gets popped. A Timid nature with 252 Speed EVs will outspeed Dragonite without a DD boost and Max Sp.atk is used to dish out the most damage possible.

vossb7.jpg

Patrick (Starmie) @ Life Orb
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
Moves:

  • Surf: Starmie´s most reliable STAB move. Although it does not have the power Hydro Pump has, it wont miss and it still hits Scizor & Tyranitar for respectable damage. Surf still has a high chance of OHKO´ing Gengars trying to block Rapid Spin after SR.
  • Recover: It is an excellent move for such a fast pokemon allowing it to recover lost damage and gives him more longetivity to spin away the foe´s hazards.
  • Rapid Spin: With this move, Starmie is able to spin away the foe´s Stealth Rock, Spikes and Toxic Spikes extending Terrakion´s and Salamence´s life span. Most Ghost-types wont dare to switch into this move fearing a LO boosted attack.
  • Thunderbolt: Starmie´s coverage move. Although Starmie might miss Ice Beam, Thunderbolt is the best choice as it hits the troublesome Water-types that resist Surf, specially Jellicent who gets 2HKO´d.
Why this pokemon?
Starmie is the best spinner considering it can 2HKO or OHKO any Ghost-type trying to block his Rapid Spin. Without hazards, Salamence and Terrakion can easily make their sweeps.
EVs, Nature and Item
Timid nature with 252 Speed EVs allows Starmie to outspeed Terrakion, Gengar, Latios and slower pokemons. Max Sp.atk to dish out the most damage possible with a Life Orb equipped.

9sw66x.jpg

Rotom-C @ Light Clay
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 108 Def / 148 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
Moves:

  • Reflect: It allows Rotom-c to set an unexpected Reflect supporting the team fantastically. Thanks to the EVs, even after Reflect CB U-turn from Scizor does at max 50% to Rotom-C. It also allows Terrakion to survive Landorus´s Earthquake & Scizor´s Bullet Punch and OHKO them back with his mighty STABs.
  • Volt Switch: Thanks to the Light Clay, Rotom-c can also fake a Choice user and gives some momentum to the team. This move also punishes Gyarados trying to set-up on me. To add more, it lets my sweepers to come unscathed.
  • Leaf Storm: This is Rotom-C´s second STAB having a decent covergae with Volt Switch. Probably the best feeling in the world is when I imitate a Choice set, people use Protect to see what I am “locked” in, and I just LMFAO as I see their Ground-types getting KO´d by a supper-effective Leaf Storm :).
  • Light Screen: Light Screen raises Rotom-C´s decent Sp.def stat and it also allows most of my team members like Terrakion & Salamce to take Hidden Powers, Rain-boosted moves, Draco Meteors, etc.
Why this pokemon?
Rotom-C is such an underrated Screener, so much that most oponents dont expect it to set them up. Once they are up, Terrakion and Salamence have an easier time sweeping taking priority moves and super-effective hits like bosses.
EVs, Nature and Item
With a Bold nature, and 108 Def EVs, Scizor´s U-turn will be doing less than a 50%. Max HP is used to tank hits better and bulk Rotom-C more. 148 Speed allows you to outspeed Jolly Tyranitar, min Speed Gliscor, Jirachi, Celebi and most pokemon with a Speed stat of 244, setting up the Screens first before these pokemons. A Light Clay is an excellent item on Rotom-C allowing him to mimic a Choice item and extends the duration of Reflect & Light Screen.

zxn0p1.jpg

Tequila (Salamence) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
Moves:

  • Outrage: Salamence´s main STAB move and it will destroy anything that doesnt resist it. Watch how Outrage sweeps the entire foe´s team as it gets more boosts after every kill, courtesy of Moxie. This move must be used late-game, because unfortunately after 2-3 turns, confusion might be a bitch.
  • Fire Fang: Although I almost never use this move, I found it useful against certain scenarios where Steel-types remained on the field. This move works perfectly with Moxie allowing me to take advantage of the boosts, unlike Fire Blast.
  • Earthquake: It has an excellent type coverage with Dragon attacks hitting the Steel-types that are vulnerable to it.
  • Dragon Claw: Salamence´s most reliable STAB move. After the oponent´s pokemon are weakened, Dragon Claw is the move to use. Unlike Outrage, it doesnt forces Salamence to switch-out after confusion, and it deals consistent damage. It still rapes a lot of pokemon after a boost.
Why this pokemon?
Salamence is an excellent revenge killer able to kill a +1 Dragonite with its STAB moves. Also after every kill, it gets a boost meaning that Salamence will end up sweeping late-game without setting up. This monster will finish up what Terrakion was not able to kill.
EVs, Nature and Item
An Adamant nature is used because Salamence needs the most possible power when sweeping with a Scarf. Max Atk is used to dish out the most possible damage in tandem with Moxie, and max Speed gives a 299 stat still capable of outspeeding Modest Hydreigon.

11qi88z.jpg

Hachibi (Terrakion) @ Rock Gem
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
Moves:

  • Substitute: Under a Substitute, Terrakion is able to scout his switch-ins. It doesnt protects him from status only, but also Terrakion is able to set-up or deal insane damage with his 2 STAB moves.
  • Stone Edge: I freaking hate this move, but the insane damage it causes with Rock Gem forces me to use it. After a Swords Dance boost, a Rock Gem-powered Stone Edge OHKOs Gliscor & Slowbro at full HP!
  • Close Combat: Terrakion´s second STAB move to spam in conjunction with Stone Edge. After a Swords Dance boost it also OHKOs Skarmory after SR.
  • Swords Dance: This move raises Terrakion´s jaw-dropping Attack stat to insane levels killing everything on its way.
Why this pokemon?
Terrakion is the MVP of this team. Once Screens are up, Terrakion can take hits like Landorus´s Earthquake, Rotom-w´s Hydro Pump, Scizor´s Bullet Punch and retaliate back with boosted Attacks. Stall isnt stopping this monster either as Terrakion can get a boost and kill walls like Gliscor & Slowbro thanks to its Rock Gem, and Skarmory gets raped by Close Combat.
EVs, Nature and Item
I dont really have to explain a lot about Terrakion. Max Attack to dish out the most posible damage & max Speed with Jolly nature to speed-tie Infernape, Virizion and other Terrakions. I already explained what Rock Gem is for ;).

Final Thoughts
Although this team cant perform as my leaderboard team, it is a very amazing team to use. Also it was really fun to run with this team under a test alt, which I never expected to reach so high.

Any comment & suggestion will be always appreciated :).

Ummm... the description for EVs and stuff for Salamence is the same as Rotom-C. I think you might have messed something up there. This is an excellent team, well constructed and all. That ScarfMence is amazing, I use it in my OU team too. I note good synergy. However, I believe that Scizor can deal considerable damage to your team. I was wondering if you'd want to use the same set for Rotom C except with Rotom-W. As it is not weak to U-turn and quadruple resists Bullet Punch, as well as having only one weakness covered by Salamence, Heatran, and Jirachi. However, I see Rotom Cut's merits and see why you would prefer not to switch it out. Good luck with your team.
