Clearly, he was indicating alternative actions in the case that No Guard prevents Kirlia from avoiding Machop's attacks with Evasive Teleport (which it does).
 
I was wanting to make sure, people on the channel agreed with me in wanting to make sure.

^. Ingame and in ASB (Look at hypnosis, the first move of the match. It autohit, there's no rng role there). It worked, but you not only did it twice to return everything to normal a3, but it had a negative effect on what you did in temporarily giving your opponent synchronize.
So you wasted two moves in a match where every move is essential
