Suicide Lead Mew[QC 0/3]

This has been my lead for awhile now and it is extremely effective as a stealth rocker. Most Suicide Rockers only get up rocks after sacrificing themselves or set up fodderize themselves. Mew can set up Rocks and still be an effective attacker.

[SET]
name: Mew
move 1: Stealth Rocks/Superpower
move 2: Superpower/ Ice Beam
move 3: Fire Blast/ Thunderbolt
move 4: Ice Beam/ Psyshock
item: Expert Belt
ability: Synchronize
nature: Naive
evs: 132 Atk 200 Sp Atk176 Spd

[SET COMMENTS]
-Speed is to outrun positive nature 90 Base Speed.

-Superpower will always OHKO max hp Tyranitar. Superpower will do over 50% against Heatran and Blissey.

-Ice Beam will OHKO Dragonite with Multiscale Broken. It will 2HKO max hp Celebi with Rocks. 72%-84% against max hp Donphan.

-Fire Blast will always OHKO standard Ferrothorn and 2HKO max HP Celebi. Overheat for better accuracy and it will OHKO Skarmory. Flamethrower will 2HKO Skarmory and OHKO Forretress and Scizor.

-Thunderbolt should OHKO Starmie after Rocks

-Mew can cover your weak spots. If Gyarados is a problem, run thunderbolt. If Ferrothorn is a problem, run Fire Blast or Overheat.

-Psyshock defeats Tentacruel
[Other Options]
-Thunderbolt could be used if Gyarados is a problem.Thunderbolt will OHKO Gyarados. Thunder will do 60%-71% to Max Hp Politoad.

-U-turn and Volt switch can be used for scouting for scouting.

Hmm your set isnt really clear, thats not really easy to read this set.
Only 176 spd ? what about the rest ? Expert belt for a suicide lead ? I'm not sure about that, LO is better. Too many options in your set -__-
Thunderwave is useless, uturn and voltswitch too, overheat too.
You forgot the "other options"
Last thing, the best set would be this one => Naive, 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 SAtk, Stealth Rocks / Superpower / Fire Blast / Zen Headbutt or Ice Punch or Ibeam

Mew can't really outspeed much after the 90Base Speed

Expert Belt is because most of Mew's attacks are meant to be super effective.

I will eliminate someoptions.

LO doesn't help too much when most pokemon either resist all of Mew's attacks or they are weak to one of them. Mew can also take attacks pretty decently

As I explained, Overheat is for guareenteed OHKO Skarmory. What is zen Headbutt going to do. Psychic doesn't do sht in OU.

The attack evs ensure that Tyranitar gets OHKOed by superpower and superpower can damage a lot.

In that last one, I took out two pokemon and set up rocks.

Isn't this essentially EB Mew that we recently rejected, but with Stealth Rock > Psychic? I guess SR makes it better lol...

I've seen some SR Mew leads, although this isn't it. The surprise factor is pretty much the main thing that gives it kills. Starmie can still spin on it all day, though. I will give it a shot.

You can use thunderbolt

Psychic isn't hitting sheet. It's a waste of a move

I realized that I didn't put in the evs

Also, isn't Mew known for it's surprises.
Even if my opponent expects Superpower, I can predict the switch

Do you know tentacruel ?

Earthquake will do just fine to tentacruel with more coverage. It's just stealth rocks. It's not like I'm using spikes

I can easily just set up again

@Pocket

Assuming EB Mew does not carry Stealth Rocks, then Lead Mew is twice as much better. If you have EB Mew on your team, you still need a stealth rocker. If Lead Mew combines the power of EB Mew with the Stealth rocks of Azelf, then you have a incredible pokemon.

Earthquake on Mew ? lol.... Dude could you accept our critics ? Your set is bad and your analysis is very ugly, so stop thinking you're the best. I know this mew perfectly since ifm used it a lot during the spl. I can tell you that superpower sr fblast zen headbutt is the best set.

Earthquake has great coverage. You clearly have not used mew enough to see it's potential. And it's funny how you think zen headbutt is actually worth a mention in Mew's moveset.

Earthquake looks like a waste of a move slot to me. The move set Ojama mentioned hits everything EQ can. I don't really see any important threats that need EQ to cover them.

I don't get the point of this set. What exactly is it beating again? Mew is too weak to think about attacking right off the bat; that's why nasty plot and even swords dance are probably the only ways you should go offensive... Besides I think ojama hit the nail on the head with this set if you choose to use it.

And you probably never realized that this is a suicide lead and you're talking about gyarados in your comments..... HMMM seems legit.
Superpower with LO does a lot more than 56%, are you crazy or what lol.... ah i know, thats your stupid spread.
I know mew a bit more than you since i did use it in nastyplotter / swords dancer / stallbreaker and lead so dont tell me how to use it. EQ is useless, zen headbutt deserves a mention since it destroys tentacruel which resists both fblast and spower. Oh and maybe you didnt realize that superpower ohko tyranitar, not eq.

I hope your not serious with zen headbutt.

I don't see why psyshock isn't prefered. Always it doesn't flinch, it's accurate and more powerful
Gyarados always likes to set up on mew

The evs are made to exactly OHKO Tyranitar with superpower

So you want to use EQ + SPower, HAHAHAHA yeah seems legit.
I'm serious with zen headbutt, why are you talking about psyshock ? Both have the same basepower (80) so whats the difference, are you stupid or what ? Zen headbutt can flinch, thats maybe better than psyshock ? Gyarados always likes to set up on mew.... ITS A SUICIDE LEAD ALLO
Well do what you want, your set is bad, your analysis is bad and you dont accept critics so whatever.
"Stealth Rocks / Superpower" hihihihi, yeah cause its a suicide lead but SR isnt obvious, we can use something else over it. Oh well, "i hope you arent serious with this set"

90 accuracy is not desirable

286 sp atk is better than 229

Thats why your spread is bad........ fblast is only for zor/ferro and both are ohko are almost ohko for ferro. Use this spread => naive 252 atk 252 speed 4 satk. With LO of course.

Oh shit, I feel stupid right now. For some reason I though you said 252 Sp Atk.

That's actually a good idea. ALthough overheat would be bettter since a defensive ferrothorn can survive fire blast. I think ice punch is needed since many dragonites use Mew as set up fodder

You still weaken ferrothorn with fire blast enough so that it won't be much of a problem later.. Yeah go with Ojama's set imo

Forgive me but Christ almighty thank Cob I'm not a mod anymore.
[SET]
name: Mew
move 1: Stealth Rocks
This is all I had to read, ALL I HAD TO READ, and I slammed the brakes on reading any further.

The move is called "Stealth Rock". It is never "Stealth Rocks" nor will it ever be "Stealth Rocks". For the love of God fix this... and tar and feather any person after this post in any forum whatsoever that says the words "Stealth Rocks".

Not to mention the slashitis is mind-boggling.

Fuck even the name of "Stealth Rocks" side-tracked me from another problem - why is the set just named "Mew"!?! What does it do? Mew the enemy to death?

Also:
-U-turn and Volt switch can be used for scouting for scouting.
That's it. I propose the name of the set to be called "MewMew".

With Psyshock you don't need to worry about Scald burns, though. It's ironic that you're considering Psyshock after saying Psychic is "shit." I probably prefer TBolt to hit Starmie, too, though :d

EDIT: Yea, the formatting of the set needs major work. Look at other analyses here for reference.

EDIT: copy-paste this for now

[SET]
name: Stealth Rock
move 1: Stealth Rock
move 2: Superpower
move 3: Fire Blast
move 4: Thunderbolt / Ice Beam
item: Life Orb / Expert Belt
nature: Naive / Rash
evs: 140 Atk / 192 SpA / 176 Spe

Boosted its attack so that Superpower has a solid chance in scoring a 2HKO on max HP Heatran after SR (although this is supposedly a suicide lead) and 2 turns of Protect. Superpower and Fire Blast seems like main staples to this set. TB would let Mew deal with Tentacruel and Starmie, while Ice Beam will let it take on Dragonite and Haxorus leads.

Life Orb is actually better for having a solid chance (68%) at scoring a OHKO on Starmie and a definite 3HKO on Tentacruel (even after it Protect-stalls). It also lets Mew OHKO Adamant Haxorus most of the time (87%). With LO Mew can now hope to 2HKO Max HP Heatran without SR damage.

What exactly does this have over other leads?
Mew's massive movepool and thus, unpredictability, is one of the few things it has over other SR setters, besides coverage. It doesn't have the Speed of Azelf, which allows it to Taunt most SR users before they can move and speed tie with Starmie in order to risk an Explosion for a spin block...provided Starmie survives (Explosion is also another thing Azelf has, being able to pseudo spin block). Nor does it have the bulk of Deoxys-D to be able to take multiple hits in case of a misprediction or it's access to Spikes. I really fail to see how this is going to work, as it seems to try to be a quick (Azelf) and/or bulky (Deoxys-D) suicide lead while at the same not being suicidal, making it play a more tank like role (Metagross, Bronzong etc)...while holding LO. Adding even more confusion is the title saying that this is a suicide lead, while in the intro, you mention it not foddering itself. So, uh...

Now, finally, you said yourself that:
All these logs, people are unexpectantly taken out by mew.

How will this continue to do so when this analysis goes on site? Sure, Mew has multiple sets that have often very differing checks, but leading with a Mew is a near dead give away that you're running this set. Imo, this set shouldn't be on site should you wish to retain the surprise factor.

My two cents.

I'm with Ningildo here. Take away Superpower and all you have is a weak, slow Azelf. Sure there's more bulk but it's supposed to be a suicide lead, right? This set doesn't really play on Mew's advantage, which is to be able to run a crazy combination of moves that no one else has. After a while this will stop becoming surprising and will just be a set that people say "Why would I ever use that?" to. I'd also like to mention how crazy vulnerable this thing is to Volcarona, who just sets up all over you all day, just like Dnite and Mence (if you lack Ice Beam). But yea, Volcarona just got +1/+1/+1 and started to sweep for free.
