Some notes:

-NU had more battles than RU, Ubers, and LC combined last month, and about half the battles that UU had, putting NU solidly in 4th place after OU, UU, and DW OU. That's really good!

-Magmortar, Quagsire, and Cryogonal could go up to RU, while nothing is currently slated to drop to NU. That's really bad!

-The top 4 is unchanged from April.

-Miltank is sneaky good in this metagame.

-Bird offense is on the downswing with Rotom-S, Swellow, and Braviary at 17, 18, and 19.

-Wartortle is used more than Gurdurr? Only 5 usages less than Ludicolo?

-Speaking of, Ludicolo is #23, Sawsbuck is #39, and Charizard is #46. So much for the hype.

Can people stop using Wartortle. Like really, I get you want to spin but its a waste of a Pokemon otherwise.

Also I would personally love to see Magmortar go to RU, mainly to see the effect it would have on the metagame. Maybe getting Stealth Rock turn 1 would become much less of a priority?

Magmortar is still #1? I haven't seen many recently and I've avoided using it myself because of the increasing popularity in hazards. It's an effective attacker and wall-breaker, but will rarely sweep through teams since so many teams either run priority or multiple fast Pokemon. Honestly the metagame won't change much if Magmortar moves up to RU, but as for the other two...

Quagsire has dropped all the way to #27, most likely due to over preparation. It's just so effective at stopping sweepers. If RU steals it from us, Absol, Samurott, Ninjask, and other stat boosters will probably see a dramatic increase. Samurott seems like the most dangerous because Tangela can't counter it effectively. I would hate to see Quagsire go because it checks so many things and is such a solid Pokemon.

Cryogonal is hands down the top spinner in the tier. It was immune to Spikes, has great speed, reliable recovery, and can find a chance to spin against almost every special attacker in the tier. It even beats Misdreavus with Toxic and Ice Beam. Hazards are already extremely powerful in the tier and the removal of Cyrogonal will make it even harder to deal with. Please don't take Cryogonal from us RU ;_;

The only real loss for me, is Cryogonal ;_;
He's the top spinner of the tier and a really good special wall or special attacker. I really miss him if he'll goes.

I really hope that something from RU gonna drop down like Crustle (increasing hazards) or Mandibuzz in the last month.

As for the stats, there is someone who has done the differences in usage between the last month and this ? (like Absol +4, Gorebyss -5, etc...) ?

I'm not sure I understand why Cryo and Quag could move up. How is it determined? they're 13th ad 27th, respectively.

This is going to break the metagame. We need Cryogonal. There are literally zero other dependable Rapid Spin users left. Are we going to have to use ridiculous stuff like RestTalk Torkoal? Wartortle? Sandshrew?

Entry hazards (the Spikes) aren't totally mainstream, but they are a problem if you don't prepare for them. How will teams deal with entry hazards without sacrificing diversity? Cryo could run a great offensive set and still spin, but what about the others?

They move up based on RU's usage of those two mons. They could be #78 here but be used a lot in RU and move up.
That being said I never use Rapid Spinners and i typically stay away from SR weak mons.

It is based on RU usage not NU usage. When usage in a tier rises to about 3.5% over 3 months (slightly weighted towards later months), then a tier shift occurs and the pokemon moves to the highest tier it has 3.5% usage in. (except ubers, where it will only move to if it is on the OU banlist)

For current May RU usage:

The reason for high cryogonal usage is that it is probably also one of the 3 best spinners in RU too. LO offensive Cryogonal can beat many hazard layers and hold its own against most of the spin blockers, such as CroTomb, Cofagrigus, Dusknoir, and most Rotom.

Yay! Now Special Attackers don't need to run HP Grass for Quagsire! (although I think that was just Magmortar, who is also leaving)
And I can use HP Ice on my Tangela!
And, despite me not using Cryo that much, I will miss it's snowflake face, and how it used to take Special Attacks like it was nothing. They grow up so fast. :'( (I don't think his departure will break the metagame, although I do sense a rise in Misdrevous and friends and Garbodor/other [Toxic]Spiker. Get ready to start using Poison-types people :D.)

Wow, the increase in Emboar usage is quite impressive... #6 is pretty damn good considering how slow Emboar is, and its type weaknesses. Is the Scarf set becoming more popular as a revenge killer over stuff like Magmortar? The increase in Skuntank usage is also cool, if entirely anticipated; it's too good a pokemon not to use in this metagame, especially when its main competition is about to leave the tier. :p

Scarf Emboar is so mediocre. Choice Band is the best.

@TLCJR4LIFE, not to turn this into an Eggy suspect discussion thread but, just because Exeggutor has Sleep Powder doesn't mean it's broken. The most threatening set is Specs. Using Sleep Powder on that makes you lose momentum. Grass is a really mediocre type to spam as well. Defensive Eggy isn't that bad either, because it has so many weaknesses and is slow.

Charizard, Braviary, Sawsbuck, etc. are all much more threatening than Eggy, even if Magmortar moves up.

Also, I disagree with you saying Wartortle is bad. Sure it's really weak, but it's one of the best Rapid Spin users that isn't weak to Stealth Rock and does its role well. I don't understand why it's so high when Charizard is so low, however.

Anyways, like always, I am extremely disappointed in these stats. Torterra, Charizard, Sawsbuck, Shelgon, Kangaskhan, Rampardos, Golbat, Lampent, Serperior, Musharna, Duosion, Gurdurr, etc. are all too low. I'm really surprised that Gardevoir is #8 and Musharna is #22; imo it should be switched. Musharna is /extremely/ hard to OHKO and has a bunch of other useful traits.

Scarf Emboar is only useful for outspeeding faster normal types such as Kangaskhan, Tauros, Cinccino etc and KOing them. Band is superior in almost every other instance. Also Expert Belt should be used more since it can catch Golem switching in on a Flare Blitz for a quick KO.

It's determined by their usage on upper tiers. If they get more than 3'41% of usage on either OU/UU/RU they move up to the tier they've got that usage.

I would assume it has to do with Super Luck + Stone Edge's extra crit chance, but that's the only reason I could really think of.

Use Maggy, Quaggy, and Cryo while you can guys, because they're as good as gone. Can't wait to see how the meta will shift when they're all lifted out of here.

I think the problem with Ludicolo is that it lacks the resistances that most bulky water and bulky grass types have. Its grass typing removes fire and ice resistances while the water typing removes the grass and electric resistances. Ludicolo's typing makes it really hard to fit in a standard F/W/G core, especially since running another grass or water type would be redundant. This limits it to a role as a weather sweeper. (sorry for my horrible grammar lol)

I really like how Armaldo is in top10. It is an awesome mon (SR+Spin), it also boasts great typing. I'll miss angry snowflake if it leaves, because Cryogonal cn perfom 3 roles with one set (spin, sp.defensive wall, offensive pivot). SD Samurott is wonderful. It is bulky enough to live a hit or two, it can set up without much of a problem and usually needs to be revenged, simply because of Torrent. Agreeing about Gardevoir and Musharna needing to switch on usage. Musharna is much more threatening than Gardevoir, and it is really hard to take out. Tangela, I must say, is really annoying to face if you don't have strog SE special attack. Torterra, on the other hand, while it is good,and has a high longevity but it is too easily walled. Not that I said much of what hasn't been said yet, but I am simply sharing my experiences after getting back into the tier.

Noctowl is a decent staller but lacks in stats and typing. Articuno may have a worse type but it can actually hurt stuff with a strong Ice Beam attack and it has much better defensive stats. 100 / 96 defenses are decent but Noctowl doesn't really resist anything important other than Grass. It also has an awful Defense stat which is disappointing as well.

I will admit that I haven't used Noctowl much. I encourage you to post in the Project NU thread with any effective Noctowl sets that you have used. Psycho Shift is quite an interesting move that a lot of other Pokemon don't have.
