As the round opens we see venusaur spit some venoms at shuckle, which are absorbed into his bloodstream! shuckle counters by sucking the life force out of venusaur! it looks like he's evened up their Special Attack powers!

Venusaur follows up his poison with some more poison! it looks like the initial poison acts as a catalyst to spur the introduction of this new poison, as it eats away at the infection site! fortunately, shuckles have a strong natural resistance to poison and he takes little damage. Shuckle retaliates by... opening a pit of quicksand beneath venusaur! venusaur is trapped!

The round comes to a close as venusaur attempts to charm the shuckle into weakness, but shuckle ain't havin none o that shit and he chucks sand into venusaur's eyes, temporarily blinding him.

As the round starts off, Venusaur uses his magic pokepower to brighten the sunlight (?) while Shuckle attempts to throw rocks at him. he misses. ironically venu was the blinded one

so then venusaur pounds shuckle with some solar beams which are somehow not fire but GRASS typed while shuckle rapes venusaur right back with rock slide - owait no it missed too

venu was apparently shampooing his hair, as he just lathered, rinsed, and repeated, while shuckle finally manages to land a stone edge for pathetic damage.

and as the round ends venu is free from his sandy prison, while the toxins eat away farther at shuckle's weak cardiovascular system

Venusaur decides to open up by... channeling sunlight to increase his strength or something idk. But it seems to have worked! Shuckle repeats an earlier strategy by trapping venusaur in quicksand, although the grass dino's charm has done the trick and the damage is virtually nil.

And then venusaur returns to hammering the poor lil dude with a ton of solar energy. All this damage is adding up, shuckle is in severe danger! so, he goes to sleep! i know that's what i do when i'm about to die. His antibodies quickly fight off the toxin, curing him. And he continues to rest, slowly regaining hp. But wait! since he's asleep, he's no longer maintaining the sand pit, and it just collapses, freeing Venu.

So then venusaur returns to hammering shuckle in an attempt to rouse him. And he succeeds, smacking shuckle with the beam of energy in a particularly tender spot. He's startled and jolts up before returning to his nap, but it really seems to be taking a drain on his energy to drown out the sounds of battle. It seems like shuckle is in a bad spot, but on the other hand, venusaur is running low on energy! who will win? we shall see!

This is a rather uneventful round. the first action literally jack shit happens.

the second action, more stuff happens. Venusaur, as is his wont, launches a UBER RAWR SOLAR POWER OFGHEHBF at shuckle but it only does a laughable amount of damage; shuckle just healed that off last action! Shuckle retaliates by launching edgy stones at Venusaur (they listen to punk rock they're so fucking edgy). but they don't do all too much either.

The last round venusaur returns to chilling his jets, but shuckle is just starting to get worked up! he spins around and around and around and around and around and around and venusaur is all like "lol dude wtf" then he gets SMACKED for big damage! that looks like it hurt!

so red takes the lead and since this is shuckle, good fucking luck, ullar

Venusaur mimics shuckle's unorthodox tactics, keeping a rough memory of them in case he needs to employ them later in the battle. but shuckle doesn't give a fuck, he just opens the third sand pit under venusaur this battle.

Venusaur uses the last vestiges of the sun to restore an insane amount of health for relatively little energy, and shuckle trashes him with another spinning attack, this time scoring at a critical weak point and dealing massive damage!

Venusaur decides now is the time to put that mimicry to use and it ends up blowing utter dick. he would have dealt negative damage if you could. well, scrap that idea. Shuckle isn't fazed (for good reason) and instead puts up a barrier that protects him from future status ailment. Both pokemon are running low on hp and energy, time to start tracking how many recovers and chills they are permitted to use!

It appears a cease-fire has been agreed upon, as each Pokemon spends their first action resting up, restoring energy in case of future combat.

Action two represents a return to normalcy, as each Pokemon plugs away at the other, venusaur dealing paltry damage, shuckle dealing much less paltry damage.

and then in action three they again cease firing, restoring more of their precious energy for the next round.

Shuckle certainly appears to have an advantage here - while venusaur has more energy, he's only got one recovery and one chill left. it looks like this could easily disintegrate into an EN STALL WAR!
